We didn't lose any centrehalfs in the summer so I don't think we were desperate at that position. We were doing better with Ramsden/cummins/Kerr in beside hutchy last season than we are currently. We have a highly paid, experienced back four and they have only managed to concede a goal less than Partick thistle and three less than the kids hearts are fielding at the back. McManus isn't jusitfying his wages and when you look at the guys at inverness, st Johnstone and Dundee Utd who are doing better than him it's clear he is a waste of money (admittedly not on the Faddy scale). The entire Inverness back four combined probably get the same wage as McManus. We'll no doubt extend his contract though as McCall continues his tactic of signing whoever involves the least amount of hassle.

the initial response was was so succesful because people wanted to get the society off the ground. Now you are asking people to put their hand in their pocket to pay for something that MIGHT happen in ten years. People need to think that their money is making a difference. There will be a good chunk of the society dead in ten years ffs. The sooner we get near the final total the less concern there will be about contributions being wasted either due to the total not beig reached or the trustees currently controlling the club spending the money. I don't think the club as a going concern is worth the valuation they have placed on it and that is surely backed up by the lack of interest in buying it over the past ten years. It was mentioned before that unless the shares are traded for a certain amount boyle gets a tax bill but that's not our problem (and he's dodged enough of them anyway). Lowering the price is the best way of achieving the society's primary objective and if the directors of the society aren't willing to attempt it then they aren't representing the members properly.

the 1.5m valuation of the club is a nonsense and the society needs to get the price down. Blindly accepeting the valuation put on the club before the soicety was eveb formed is madness when there is only buyer and the trustees can't afford to run the club on their own.

no one is going to put money in when you talk about seeing results in ten years time. It's too far down the road plus there is always the chance that weir, dempster and the rest of the trustees will spend the money at some point to finance their loss making stewardship. Unless the people running the society make achieving fan ownership as soon as possible the primary goal it wither away. Until i think they are actually doing that i won't be putting in another penny.

how did vigurs and lawson get this reputation as quality players? They played in a 4 man centre midfield for a county team who even in the first division were known for shitfesting games. Good players don't get stuck in the scottish lower leagues for five years or more like these two duds.

there were definitely some posters pointing out the lack of quality in the summer signings. You can make a case for them all individually but collectively the squad is a shambles and the buck stops with mccall. Between extensions, new signings and loans he's dished out about a dozen contracts recently so he has clearly had a decent level of resources available to him. With the club walking a financial tightrope i don't think we can afford to give him that financial leeway again. Mcghee, gannon and brown were all the right men at the right time but when circumstances changed they weren't up to the new task. Mccall is the same for me, he was the ideal man to run a steady ship when we had quality compared to the rest of the league but the task at hand has changed and i don't think he is cut out for it.

the majority of the 50 quid doesn't even end up with the society. If you take the season ticket discount that takes up the majority of the 50 quid and i'd guess other benefits and admin eats up the rest. The society has to have a viable future as no one else is putting any money into the club. The options are trustees who invest nothing or the society who invest something. The society model is obviously better.

he had a chance to build a squad this year and failed badly. Every single poster on here was looking for us to add pace and creativity and he signed guys with no speed or guile. Sacking him isn't a priority because no one is going to get this squad playing good football and we're not going to have any money to sign many players next summer. Our budget will make most of the choices for us in the foreseeable future. The biggest decision is whether or not to extend lasley and hammell and to a lesser extent mcmanus or bring in younger cheaper players.

Going forward we need to find a way to ditch our manager and the vast majority of our squad without costing us anything or accept we are going to be terrible until August 2015 and cut the budget to the bare minimum until then.

We played some great stuff under brown. 3 goal wins at pittodrie and rugby park, three absolute hammerings of hearts, sticking 4 past st johnstone, aalesunds, 6-6 and 3-3. Not bad for less than a year.

Why did we only have five players on the bench? After the no show at Perth, only using two subs against Aberdeen, not bothering to put a sub on against united and losing a goal with ten men and now this McCall has been having a nightmare recently with the basics of being a football manager.

hutchy, murphy and reynolds all signed three year deals which is as long as you can expect 20 year olds in their positions to sign. If we can't sign players to longer deals we should look at giving them deals that expire whilst we are still due compensation but agents are probably wise to that.

I'd start Sutton and Moore to let them build a partnership and give big sutty a few cheap goals for his tally.

I think Dunfermline are still the benchmark for shite defending. Jason Thomson, Austin mccann, andy dowse and alex keddie will take some beating. Killie seem they like they should be better than they are. They probably can't afford it but they need to sack Johnston ASAP.

I was at the game and he was shocking. Young guys like Moore and Johnston looked lively, Faddy was embarrasing.

Moore, Sutton and Kerr played very well and the rest other than Faddy were decent. Killie are a poor, poor outfit and other than the wee number ten they were shocking. Our first away game in a month and it was another small away crowd. We usually take 800+ to killie, I'd guess we had about 400 today but I don't think they announced it. We'll see what effect the poor fare is having next Saturday.

We've looked extremely unfit this season so this can only be a good thing. I was hoping that McCall might cry off his kettle and cones duty this week but obviously not. Having a guy airdrie sacked in charge for any length of time doesn't sit right.

I read in the paper today that the Inverness players have given up there 5 days off during the international break to do extra training. I suppose there's no chance our players (or manager) have done the same thing following the shambles against united?

Anier has been terrible the past few games so Moore should start against killie with Sutton. If he doesn't pick up extending his loan is just more money down the drain. Hopefully McCall will be working hard with the players in training to improve our attacking play before the killie game.....

Short short term we should send Anier and ainsworth back to their clubs in January and have a serious discussion with Faddy about his future and contract. After that try and bring in a bit of creative quality on loan in January with any money freed up and blood erwin, Moore, Thomas and leitch to get an idea of what they can contribute to the first team. Next season we have Nielsen, Ramsden, cummins, Kerr, Angol, carswell, lawson, vigurs, Sutton and mchugh signed up. It's unrealistic to see us moving any of them on so there might be hard decisions to be made about renewing lasley, hammell, McManus and Hollis. Hutchy will be off. We've got a big rebuilding job and not a lot of scope to do it. The opportunity was there in the summer to reload the squad with young, hungry players but McCall chose to go the other way probably expecting a bit of short term success with experienced players winning him a move down south. With the contracts we've got it'll probably be summer 2015 before we can properly rebuild and I would be shocked if anybody in this squad other than hammell, carswell and a few of the younger ones are still here in two years time.

i only lasted an hour but i thought sutton's attitude and effort was first class

from carswell going down to getting off the pitch they had 2 minutes to make a sub but they let us play with ten men. Criminal.

I'd be quite confident with Rambo and mick playing together. Fingers crossed.
