  1. quite right spock, that point was highly illogical.
  2. we looked tired after wednesday and never really got going, it was just one of those nothing games that you get every so often and i'm just glad we escaped with a point. i was hoping we'd step it up a bit in the 2nd half but the double substitution killed any momentum we had and after that it was all accies. i'm definitely not liking john sutton's rebirth as a flying left winger.
  3. i always thought be against a plastic pitch but after watching red bull salzburg vs lazio i think they could the way forward. if we could get something equivalent to that i'd be quite happy.
  4. forbes knows he's onside, he came from behind the ball and two h**s, so he's doing the right thing by making 100% sure. are players supposed to start second guessing officials now?
  5. the spl don't force us to turn the USH on all the time though. if it is used properly it's clearly a good thing to have. having it on for a fortnight with the the covers on doesn't seem too clever.

you might as well do it, probably the only way you'll ever get anyone to agree with you.
  7. exactly since the debacle on boxing day the team has totally turned around their fortunes and have done it mainly through an incredible amount of hard work. guys like the juke, john sutton, lasley and jennings are leaving everything on the park in every game by completely running themselves into the ground and going in where it hurts. we always knew we had decent players but i think they can compete with and beat anyone in scotland if they keep up the standards they have set under pa broon. did anyone see craigan bombing down the right wing in injury time. if only the cheat papac hadn't pulled the juke down we could have be due the most memorable goal in the history of fir park

a mod changed the title of the match thread can the title of this not be changed to ""reynolds, opinions" or something as it seems to be only the OP that thinks this and it's unfair that idiots get to set the tone of the site. also after a team performance like last night no one should be pointing fingers, every player more than did us proud.

just because you've been spewing the same shite for years doesn't make your point any more valid. reynolds had a great game for first 70 odd minutes last night then made one poor decision followed by giving the ball away to miller near the end which he atoned for. apart from that he was superb, he dominated in the air and kept miller and boyd as quiet as i've ever seen them in the spl. stuff like this does my heid in. the guy makes one mistake when he's in a great run of form and we ee a thread like this. people try to use one mistake or a guy getting dropped from the team to validate whatever shite they've been spouting in the face of all other evidence over a period of years. it's the same when craigan scores an og, it's the same when lasley gives the bal awayl and it was the same for buzz even although his form over his final two seasons was immense. such is the mindset of some motherwell fans that once they've repeated the same shite point to their mates and been overheard by everyone else unfortunate enough to sit in their section that nothing will change thier mind.
  10. i dunno what happened. one of the dugs might have jumped on the laptop.
  11. is 2000 odd not the maximum amount of away fans that can get into NDP?
  12. brown seemed to decide on saturday that width wasn't the way to go on our park with o'brien playing in the centre for most of the game.
  13. i really hope mcglinchey doesn't start. apart from his celtic wankathon in the papers the last couple of days it'd be a poor signal that a guy can come straight in on loan and walk into a winning team. also been having a nosy on follow follow to see what insanity they have on the agenda at the moment. the protest they're planning against donald muir and lloyds bank is one of the most mindboggolingly stupid things i've ever seen. they are a bunch of complete mongos.
  14. i dunno gannon seemed to think he was doing brilliantly when he admitted he wasn't bothered about getting a result from celtic and we duly got a doing.
  15. same as saturday except forbes back in for fitzy. marc did a good job on saturday but this is more forbes type of game, we'll have loads of the ball and we'll need to break down the accies defence. i can see the two of them sharing the left mid duties for the rest of the season depending on who and where we're playing. if we could somehow spilce them we'd have a hell of a player. i'm very confident about this which is strangely making me less confident as we get closer to the game. 2-0 to us as i can't see them being able to handle the juke and JOB.
  16. i don't think klimpl was overrated, people knew exactly what he was. he was a guy that came in to our team when it was struggling and played a part in turning a losing run into a winning run, he was aggressive and mental which wll always appeal to 'well fans and he was something totally different from what we had had in the previous few years. someone thought up a belter of a song and the flags were a laugh. i don't think anyone thought he was a great player but for 3-4 months he was an enjoyable presence in our team.
  17. you're going to have to explain how i managed this. i'm just about to go out for a few hours so you've got a good bit of time to dream something up.
  18. i agree, it was strange that we agreed to sell him in febraury rather than hanging on until the end of the season. couldn't even say we were hedging that we might get relegated as we looked very safe at that point. also very few people really expected mcdonald to be a big success at celtic so you would have thought a sell on clause wouldn't worry them too much.
  19. how many times did you see quinn play in the flesh?
  20. you know what i mean. it seems like the fans attitudes to our players is changing. i'm only 26 so i don't actually know if joe was as revered during his playing days as he is now but the guys in our team who are creeping up to near his appearance total get very little respect from the fans. a lot of people seemed to be spoiled by watching so much high class football on tv and taken in by the andy gray/hansen nonsense where every goal is analysed like the zappruder film and blame apportioned.
  21. a bit harsh on danny murphy. not the best player but he played a blinder against ivan sproule at hibs and i'm sure got motm when he scored the cheeky wee free kick at dundee united. he's someone who never recovered from having a dodgy first few games at fir park even although he played well away from home. molloy and keegan were apocolyptically bad.
  22. simo - big jim smith must have had a fetish for finnish good looks. the guy got a move to the premiership and was an international ffs. he was popular because he was brave, commited and massively improved himself as a player in his time here. foran - he scored 35 goals in 105 appearances from midfield. as far as i know he's the only motherwell player to score in two semi finals. dougie arnott - not even worth responding to. mcdonald - great player for us and has proved his class since he left. he also didn't celebrate after scoring his first hat trick for celtic against us and only started when he got pelters back at fir park. lasley - a shite point at any time but after the start of the broon era it's ridiculous bordering on retarded. a better question is why are so many well fans these days keen to put down players who are commited to the club and work hard on the park. hammell, craigan and lasley are club legends and have shown recently thay still have loads to contribute yet people consistently want to put them down and this season we've had threads in which posters (diddies) say they're finished and should be punted. i remember my dad telling me how him and all the guys from his pub wrote a letter to john philliben after the 91 final because they were that guttted for him they didn't play. would something like that happen these days? what would be the reaction to some of our club legends from modern fans. imagine the reaction to wullie p coming back with fhw and united and i bet there would be threads about how it was time for joe wark to retire. we've been extremely lucky over the years and especially so recently that we've had a good combination of talented players and also quite a few who truly have the club at heart. the players we've had in my time have been far better than what fans at the other non city clubs have had to watch so can we not maybe just be grateful we're not st mirren fans and give our guys a bit of support and recognition.
  23. anybody know if we've got a sell on with mcdonald. it looks like he's on his way out of celtic (monkeyheid must have money on rangers to win the league) and it would be ideal if we could get some of the dough. looks like we're not bringing anyone in which i'm not too bothered about. even with slane, mcgarry and yas leaving we've still got 23 players who have played this season plus darren smith, i think we're set.
