I'd go same team as last night apart from Cornelius back in for Tierney. They are obviously conceding a lot of goals so hopefully big Kev can stick one away early. If we can get wins here and against Ross County then the first cycle of fixtures will already be a success and we will have zero pressure versus the Edinburgh and Glasgow mobs. If Aarons comes on he needs to be under a fatwa to stay away from set pieces.

Playing them midweek is great. Playing them at 12 or 1230 is grim as fuck.
-
You are wrong about almost everything so that's good to read.

That was good entertainment, we passed the ball well with Slattery and Goss linking up nicely. We were still lacking some cohesion and quality in the final third but hopefully Stevie can find the right combination to play beside Van Veen. Penney strolled it against limited opposition and gave us some width on the left we have been badly lacking this season. Miller and McKinstry both looked good tonight. Composed on the ball and good athletes. Celtic in a midweek quarter final at Fir Park should be a cracking atmosphere at least. It's a tough draw but better than being away to the Old Firm or away to Kilie or Aberdeen. Celtic have midweek games 6 weeks in a row from the start of October with 4 in the Champions League and two at Fir Park so they might rest some players and have a few injuries.

Well done to Hammell for bombing Morris out the squad. Tierney needs to show something. I don't like Spittal in midfield, hopefully that's not something Hammell is considering for the weekend.
-
Goss marking Taylor is piss poor. It should have been a defender or Maguire.
-
Jack Ross was commuting from Northumberland to Dundee, he obviously didn't plan to be very long. That's him had pay offs from Sunderland, Hibs and Dundee United within a three year period. He's raking in money for being utterly shite at his job.
-
Paul McGinn has been our best defender by a mile.
-
Slattery has played more good passes this season than Grimmy managed over 6 years or however long he was here. Grimshaw will be lucky to get a club in the National League North. Aarons had zero end product when he was here previously and has barely kicked a ball in the two and a half years since he was here. If he's our best option then we are in trouble.

I was originally thinking mix the team up a bit but none of the subs from yesterday deserve to start so the only change should be Penney for SOD. Any word on McKinstry?
-
Morris managed 3 simple passes two of which went backwards, lost possession twice and underhit (another) cross in 33 minutes today. Absolutely chronic.
-
He played Efford and Tierney in in the second half and we came away with nothing. Shields ballsed up a 1 on 1 as well.
-
Hammell cost us that with the subs. Morris effectively put us down to ten men and instead of having a tap in to kill the game overran the pass exactly the same as he did at home to Sligo. He's so bad you have to question his commitment. Ross Tierney is a circus act not a professional footballer. He should be put out on loan to prove himself but he's not the standard for our first team.

We were getting £400,000 anyway from having one team in the group stage. Two teams took it up to £600,000. It's just a shame we blew easy money on offer in our own qualifiers but hopefully Hammell takes us on a cup run to make up for some of it.
-
Burrows said we get an extra £200,000 if Rangers qualify for the CL. Hopefully we can blow it all on players asap.

No one is going to pay a fee for him this window. Rangers can either pay him to do nothing for 12 months, loan him out and hope he does well enough that someone will pay a development fee for him next summer or just release him early.
-
I was hoping Alexander was going to pop up as a talking head. Maybe in the end of season documentary.
-
I see Stephen Kelly is playing for Rangers B tonight in the Challenge Cup. Given he has played 50 matches between Ross County and Salford he must be looking to get out of Ibrox before the window shuts, he might be a decent addition for us in midfield.
-
I don't know. Killie fans accepted the switch to a plastic pitch. I don't think we would. People went more mental here about giving the Old Firm extra stands than some other clubs as well.
-
Is that why the lines were squinty to start with?
-
With offside with VAR there is still a ref deciding which frame to freeze it on and where to draw the line so it's just more variables that will go in favour of the Old Firm. In the South Africa Vs Wales rugby test last month the ref yellow carded a Welsh player and was hammered by the commentators and media who were adamant he got it wrong based on replays. Two weeks later another angle was found from pitchside which vindicated the ref which just shows that you can't rely on TV pictures as they are 2D and depth is an illusion.
-
Loads of people sitting down in that corner said they saw it hit his arm. None of the TV angles were clear which is why we shouldn't be doing VAR.

Michael Stewart talking about what constitutes a red card or a booking is like asking Gazza about moderate drinking. The guy has one of the worst disciplinary records in Scottish football history.

Stonewall penalty on Sportscene.

Scott Burns was reporting this week we have the budget to make Snodgrass an offer plus bring in another 3 or 4. By quality I'd say KVV, Watt, Cole, Goss, Lang, McGinn, SOD, Kelly. It's impossible for us to sign decent players.
