We are in a precarious position in the league. We have probably the worst attack in the league along with St Mirren and the single worst defence in the league. We also have the most inexperienced manager. How much money we have in the bank won't matter if we finish bottom. It's also likely that when the transfer window closes fans are going to get pissed off that we spent millions levelling a perfectly fine pitch and are stuck watching Josh Morris and Joe Efford week in, week out.

Given who was on the shortlist this is the best appointment. Simo was too big a risk considering our current position and the other candidates were poor. Hammell's only job this season is to keep us up which will be very difficult. Hopefully the lack of interest in the job from credible managers gives Burrows and the other key decision makers at the club a kick up the arse regarding our transfer policy. We have been burning piles of cash on dross for too long and it's left us in a very precarious position. Something has to change on that front. No more Effords, no more Grimmys, no more Niernolds, Ojalas, Sloths.

In all seriousness he is a mentally ill alcoholic with a history of domestic abuse and criminal connections. I'd take him ahead of Robinson but that's about it.
-
Lennon would at least give us something to shout about.
-
Spud did you not notice Efford passing the ball straight to a St Mirren player resulting in Lamie getting sent off? He's a diddy.

Alexander had the chance to sort things out this summer and blew it. He chose to pick fights with Woolery and O'Donnell that weakened the squad and didn't have the players match fit for a game with a lot of prize money at stake. We don't know what his discussions and targets were with Burrows and the board for the beginning of this season but if they weren't telling him we need better results than he's produced since January and we need to show up in Europe then something is very wrong.
-
Stuwell asked for something to compare our players performances too. By looking at other players you can see that it's not just that they didn't produce much but they were barely involved in the game.

Looking at Tony Watt he played 75 minutes and had 20 final third involvements which is 4 more than Morris, Shields and Efford managed in a combined 180 minutes. For Watt it's 5 crosses (1 leading to a chance), 4 forward passes, 6 backward passes, 1 shot and he lost it 4 times. The new guy Sims for Ross County had 10 involvements in the final third in 64 minutes. 2 shots. 3 forward passes. 3 backwards passes and 2 crosses (creating 2 chances). He didn't lose the ball at all in his time on the park which is impressive. There is no doubt that our two weakest areas at the moment are the holding midfield role and the wide attacking roles. Even if we change from a 4-3-3 with the new manager those are still the areas that need addressed.

Looking at Morris on Whoscored.com he managed 5 touches in the final third in 67 minutes and gave the ball away three times, passed it to a Motherwell player on touchline from inside the box once and crossed a high loopy cross for Sol's header in his only successful final third possession. Brutal. Shields had 9 involvements in the final third over the 90 minutes but didn't manage to create anything at all other than the pass back to Carroll that led to the penalty. He had another two backwards passes to team mates, 3 crosses that failed to find a team mate and he lost the ball 3 times. Efford had two in 20 minutes. The blocked shot and a poor cross. It's not a shock that KVV is struggling with these chancers beside him.

It was ugly but it could be a big three points come May. We have a new manager and surely 2 or 3 new starters at least to come in so points on the board now are a bonus. I don't think there were ever any doubts about Liam Kelly downing tools but that was a great performance and brilliant to see him up clapping the fans. 7 years since we have lost in the league in Paisley according to their commentators and now 7 unbeaten in the league against them. They are officially our bitches.

We didn't have any other options on the bench to replace Goss. Slattery suspended, Spittall already off.
-
Cornelius struggled badly in the League Cup last year then came good in the winter.
-
The midfield is struggling now.
-
Kian Speirs getting his debut. Goss maybe lacking some fitness, a solid performance from him anyway. Hopefully Efford can get in behind.
-
Our crossing is woeful.
-
Leaving a man up the park at corners. Roon ye Alexander.
-
Van Veen got booked for celebrating too much. I don't know whether to laugh or greet.
-
A good half after Thursday even discounting the penalty. Goss, Lamie and Kelly all looking good with SOD looking sharp despite not playing much. Jake Carroll playing ok as well. Spittal wasn't great but credit for getting into the box for the penalty.
-
That was an absolute stonewaller. Well done Kev on finishing it and to Goss for getting us into a dangerous forward position. The St Mirren commentators are talking utter pish. He turned his body away from and hit his hand which was sticking out.
-
Barry Maguire cannot be more than a squad man.
-
Morris with his 20th pathetic cross in three games setting up the St Mirren chance.
-
Morris standing a mile away from Goss demanding a huge switch of play that was never on instead of making a run through the middle. Alexander has signed us a winger who only moves away from goal. This new St Mirren striker is a diving prick.
-
We've looked better in possession but it's breaking down with Morris and Shields.
-
Third time lucky for Morris and Spittal? If they don't show something they better be out the team next week.

Looking at Twitter Liam Kelly's comments have went down like telling a 5 year old Santa isn't real. There's genuine anger from many at realising the players are not in fact their pals.
