  1. Slightly concerned about Carson if cannot make it, although Griffith is more than good enough as a replacement, but if he is injured during the match, it would need to be Morrison
  2. Every Saturday game is on a Sunday in New Zealand. Important to get something from this match. Three points and we go into the international break on a bit of aught.
  3. Good to know and that thy did not take any risks with him. I think he may have serious potential and hope we can give him the chance to show it,without injury getting in the way.
  4. Sounded like a knee injury. Hope it is not serious as he has just recovered from injury. Feel for the lad.
  5. Need to get back on track. A home game against Thistle is one we should be looking to take all three points from. Anything less will be a disappointment. Show the right attitude and we can take this 2-0.
  6. Very sad to hear of his passing. I never saw the Ancell side but my late father raved about the qualities of the team. RIP and my thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
  7. Win our next couple of games and Robinson will face his biggest challenge to date - the curse of Manager of the Month. Though they will still probably give it to Brendan Rodgers.
  8. Greg Tansey of Aberdeen is reportedly in that situation, so hopefully you just misheard and all our guys are okay.
  9. He is doing a great job. Long may it continue.
  10. This is one off game and takes care of itself. As of now, the only two things we can be absolutely sure of are that Alan Campbell will be linked with a move to Ibrox in the Daily Record on the Friday before the match, and Bobby Madden will be refereeing the fixture.
  11. Goals make the difference, so Louis Moult for me.
  12. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. This will be a tough game and we will need to be up for it. Our fitness levels seem good so " change for changes sake" would not seem to be necessary. I can see Dunne being brought back for Hammell and Grimshaw for Rose if he is injured. Anything else would be a surprise. Robinson can always freshen things up as the game goes on. He has shown that he has options on the bench and that he know how to, and is prepared, to use them. Hopefully we can keep the momentum going with another positive result.
  13. Cheers. So , even if he goes for nothing in the summer, the decision to keep Moult looks to be paying dividends.
  14. So what is a League Cup semi final worth to us, in cash terms? Anyone have an idea?
  15. Are Richard Gordon and Willie Miller still jibbering shite about how we should have let King Louis go to the Dons in the summer for half of what he is worth?
  16. R I P Paul. Worthy of our respect for a number of reasons. Firstly, as a former player, even if his time with us was not successful. Secondly, and probably most importantly, as a player who, for no other reason than his heritage, faced and dealt with the insidious racial abuse of the time with more dignity than it deserved. Thirdly, and only slightly with tongue in cheek, for scoring the two goals which helped deny Airdrieonions a cup final win, after they had knocked us out in the dodgiest of fashions in the semi final. Thoughts and prayers with his family and friends.
  17. Would be great to get one over this mob, and more than a bit overdue. The fact that they are such favourites of our media would make it even sweeter. Having said that, they are no mugs and it will take a decent performance to get the win. Still think that the league points are more important in the longer term, but this match represents a free go to get to a semi final and the cash and kudos that would follow on from that.
  18. At this stage of the season, I'd be more apply with another performance that proves we are on the right track. We have not had a complete ninety minutes yet and it will probably take our best performance of the season , so far, to take something from this fixture. Having said that, it would be great to keep building momentum by continuing our recent good run.
  19. Nice to see the young goalie keep a clean sheet. After the difficult time he had in Belfast, good that he could get back on the horse. Looks like he made a decent save or two as well.
  20. Frear out with concussion, and I doubt that they will rush Hammell back into action, but otherwise seem to be healthy enough. Hopeful we can keep our good wee run going. Would love another clean sheet but any kind of win will do me.
  21. We should ignore the unnecessary sideshow that is "former player" related and concentrate on doing a professional job on this lot.
  22. Indeed. Young players will all make mistakes and they are generally magnified for a goalkeeper as they, more often than not, lead to a goal. I am sure nobody feels worse about it than the lad himself.
  23. Please note the word "could". Before the transfer window was brought in, at least there was that option available. The fact that several managers thought that Stevie Woods was not only worth a game, but also a contract renewal is inexplicable.
  24. At least in those days, when you brought in a dud, you could move them on quickly. How long were the likes of Crawford Baptie or Ally Graham on our books. The introduction of the transfer window screwed that option.
  25. A shame that the young lads are out, but hopefully they have enjoyed and learned from the experience. That is what this tournament is all about for a club like ours..
