The best way to get match fit is by playing football. That's why teams play pre-season friendlies and players coming back from injury play in bounce games. Friendlies aren't as good as competitive games but they're the next best thing so for us to be going into the Europa League on the back of one decent friendly was a joke. Absolutely amateur.

Overall Stuart McCall's done a very good job since he came to Motherwell. However.......I really can't fathom some of the decisions he makes prior to and in "big" games. He continually makes the same mistakes, strange lineups and crazy substitutions. FFS, Faddy in the squad but at at no point (even 1-0 down with 5 mins to go) did it seem like a good idea to bring him on!?
