  1. I'm really not too bothered about Quinn leaving if we got the reported £300,000 plus for him. I'd love to be proved wrong but I really can't see him getting a regular game for Cardiff.
  2. If Colin Calderwood got the job it could be the shortest reign in professional football history as the backlash would be phenominal.
  3. Clarkson (like him or not) is an international player. A lot of people have stated that Paul Quinn is a winner and they like his attitude on the pitch but for me Clarkson has that same grit and determination but channels it better than Quinn and will win us more points. Out of Clarkson, Quinn and Reynolds I'd rather we kept Clarkson and lost the other two rather than the other way around.
  4. I have no inside information but would be very surprised if more than one of Clarkson, Quinn or Reynolds were sold. We have lost the perceived highest earners (Malcolm, Buzz, Hughes and possibly Klmpl) through the end of their contracts and received a fee for Porter, McGhee and Leitch while also getting their wages to play with. Surely that would cover a reasonable number of Bosman signings?
  5. Has Sanchez not distanced himself from the job? I've not seen anything official to say that he has but a couple of posters on here have stated it. Personally I'm looking forward to seeing who gets it and as long as it's not some ex-SPL diddy or lower league manager (Blobby Williamson, John Robertson, Gordon Chisolm etc) they'll get my support. Even if it is one of them they'll get my support initially but I'll be far quicker to let them know if I think they're shite!
  6. Surely that depends on a suitable fee being agreed as he is under contract? I'm not overly fussed if he leaves as long as we get a decent fee for him as the fee and his wages can go to the new manager to bring in a couple of players.
  7. I know for a fact that Scott Leitch used to go to Ibrox and suppoorted Rangers.
  8. This years top 6 effort was certainly soild due to the fact that McGhee mad a total arse of the St Mirren game and we missed out.
  9. Why would they not deny it if it isn't true?
  10. Leitch will regret this move when Muttonley inevitably dumps him to further his own career.
  11. I'd definitely take Nijholt with an assistant who has experience of Scottish football over anybody else I've seen linked with the job so far.
  12. That's not really the point. I don't know where you work but I'd be surprised if your job was in any way similar to being manager of an SPL football team. If you pissed your customers about you'd probably get sacked with one months pay. It seems that football managers can do it all they want and then fuck off to another team or expect the rest of their contract to be paid up if they're sacked.
  13. He can't sign anything until compensation has been agreed. If it all falls through John Boyle will probably tell us what a big coup it is for us persuading him to stay and Mark McGhee will tell us that he decided not to go at the last minute because he hasn't finished what he started with us.
  14. I know times are hard but if you look at who we've lost recently we should surely have enough to sign a good few players. Hughes, Porter and Malcolm would have been among the higher earners and Smith would possibly have been on the next tier. If you add their wages to the reported £200,000 we should get for McGhee and a possible transfer fee if anybody else leaves we should be in a better position than a fair few SPL clubs.
  15. If there's plenty left I'd be interested in buying some more stuff. Anything in medium or large. Maybe the leftovers could be listed on here or something?
  16. I thought McGhee's tactics and team selection were amateurish today. When you've got a full squad to choose from it's criminal to play players out of position in a must-win game. I thought the team looked totally disjointed and he should have made a change before St Mirren went ahead as we never really looked likely to score.
