Do the rest of the SPL not have to vote on whether or not the SPL share can be transferred and if it can what sanctions will be placed on the newco? Sanctions = punishment for breaking the rules?

BTC is now irrelevant moneywise as the CVA offer has been made. BTC going against Rangers would just be added to the overall debt and dilute the pot. However if the BTC goes against Rangers it virtually proves dual contracts and should lead to title stripping even if there is a newco.

So a newco could carry on in the SPL as if nothing had happened? I didn't realise that. I thought the SPL clubs had to vote.

If Rangers can agree a CVA and come out of administration they're not breaking any rules so I don't see how they could be punished further.

I'm quite happy with the outcome of todays meeting. Firstly, there's no guarantee that they'll get voted into the SPL and secondly they don't know what the punishment will be if they do get voted in as each case is going to be dealt with on it's own merits. Can't see that helping with Charles Green's recruitment drive for his consortium.

If Stuart McCall's comments in The Sun are representative of the clubs thinking it looks like we'll be voting in a Newco :- McCall admits Rangers' loss has been Motherwell's gain and he sympathises. He added: "They're going through hell but it does not just have an impact on them — it has an impact on the whole of Scottish football. "Without Rangers the league would be knackered. "I know a lot of supporters are saying they should be liquidated and come back as a new club in division three. "But that would be the end for Scottish football — there certainly wouldn't be any TV deals and the element of competition would vanish because Celtic would walk away with the SPL. "Financially speaking, Rangers mean a lot to us because of the revenue that comes into the coffers when we play them. The SPL without Rangers is unthinkable and I'm sure lots of clubs would go to the wall without them."

Celtic don't have a waiting list any more. That's why they've been advertising the fact that season tickets are now on sale.

Not really a good comparison when you consider that both those teams are downsizing in order to reduce debt.

Other clubs, with the exception of Celtic haven't had as successful a season as us so should we really be using them as a yardstick? Qualifying for the Champions League surely means that we should be ahead of the rest?

I agree with Steve Diggle that the punishment has to fit the crime regardless of the effect on the other teams in the SPL. IF they are found guilty of EBT's/dual contracts and are back in the SPL next season with minimal sanctions I won't be back and I'll cancel my Well Society direct debit. I can just about accept the fact they get "debatable" decisions in games but I won't accept rules being altered for them.

Don't know about getting money back but I fear there may be a few standing orders cancelled if they get off lightly.

Not sure how you can be upset about people correctly predicting the outcome of today's game. Nobody wanted Rangers to win or hoped they'd win, they just took the easy money as they suspected the result would be the same as usual.

High horse? I actually won £36 myself (£30 @ 6/5) so I'm hardly on a high horse. My point was that it's a sad state of affairs when people are getting free money based on a dead cert loss against a shit team.
