I guess Jennings himself is a great example there. Comes off the back of being the engine room in one of our best seasons ever at a club like ourselves, 6 weeks later goes to Coventry and isn't even deemed fit enough to be part of their pre-season tour!

Decent level players in Scotland are fit. Decent level players in England are athletes. That's the difference.

to be fair jenno was in terrible condition every summer he was here. i think he over does it a bit in the off season

Jenno has done his cartilage in and requires an operation. I was talking to Stuart McCall before the Raith game. He said that he ruptured it and as he isn't technically signed to any club then he will have to pay for the operation himself. McCall says he will be out for about 3 months

That is terrible news for him. Hope he gets back to his best soon. Could be without a Club for the first half of the season.

saw an article that said Motherwell were trying to get Ojamaa's younger brother on a trial, hes a RB called Hindrek. severely doubt anything will come of it seeing as Stoke want him and he is on trial at Copenhagen but thought it was an interesting thought

Quite a prospect apparently.

does your mate write for the express?

DEAN SHIELS and Steve Jennings are set to join Ally McCoist’s Rangers revolution.

The duo are on the manager’s wishlist as the Light Blues prepare for life in the Third Division.

Express Sport understands ex-Kilmarnock star Shiels and former Motherwell midfielder Jennings, both 27, are mulling over offers.

Midfielder Ian Black is also poised to sign a three-year deal with the Ibrox club. Yesterday he and fellow former Hearts team-mate Craig Beattie trained at Auchenhowie.

McCoist is in a race against time ahead of the year-long transfer embargo that begins on September 1 as he tries to bolster his wafer-skin squad after the departures of a host of big names, with more expected to follow.

Maurice Edu has been linked with Valenciennes and Valencia, while Carlos Bocanegra is believed to have discussed terms with Eintracht Frankfurt.

Youngster Rhys McCabe is in talks with newly-promoted Championship side Sheffield Wednesday.

One player who will be on Rangers’ books this season is Andrew Little, with the Northern Irishman expected to put pen to paper on a new Rangers deal today.

Versatile Little is a free agent after his deal at Ibrox expired in May.

But after holding talks with McCoist, the 23-year-old has decided to pledge his future to the Third Division outfit.

Ibrox chief executive Charles Green confirmed: “Andrew Little is coming back to the club.

“We’ve agreed terms with him and hopefully he will re-sign tomorrow.

“A lot of people now are seeing Rangers come out of the mire. There is a lot of confidence around the club.”

Little spent last season on loan at Port Vale and can play in any outfield position, although he favours a more attacking role.

Green, speaking on Rangers TV, claimed that manager McCoist has a number of players he hopes to sign when the SFA grant the club a playing licence.

The Light Blues supremo hopes that can be sorted in the next 24 hours and he added: “We have a number of other targets lined up and it’s up to Ally to decide.

“He picks the ones on the field and I pick the ones in the office.”

McCoist is pressing ahead with efforts to get new faces in ahead of the club’s first competitive game of the season at Brechin City in the Ramsdens Cup on Sunday.

Black was not offered a new contract by cost-cutting Hearts after May’s Scottish Cup Final win over Hibs and agreed to join Rangers in early July.

It appeared at the time that it was dependent on Rangers playing in the First Division, but the 27-year-old seems undeterred by the new club being forced to start life in the Third Division.

Beattie, 28, finished last season at Tynecastle after being released by Swansea City but rejected an offer to stay on with reduced terms.

However, it is believed Black is much closer than the ex-Celtic striker to signing a contract with Rangers, despite both using the facilities.

Green added: “The difficulty we have is that we are playing in the Third Division.

“Some of our senior players have agreed to stay with us and that’s really commendable. You couldn’t blame them for picking up their bags and going elsewhere.

“For Alistair, now the balance is getting the players in who can play in the Third Division but can also move forward as the club moves forward.”
