Kettlewell actually said that he had a meeting with refs where they talked about situations like this and they were told a penalty wouldn't be given. It's in his post match interview

He has previous for that. I'm not saying it didn't happen, but it felt like every week we lost (or didn't win) he told the press he had a recent meeting with the refs who told him the exact opposite decision would be made on a call that went against us.

I have to say when Kettlewell was manager I didn’t bother with him too much and I knew never to listen to his interviews in any great detail. But this week after the whole penalty decision and his supposed meeting with referees and his bleating on all week in about 100 interviews……. Thank fk he is no longer our manager. As soon as I hear his voice I have to turn him over.

listening to excuses all week and victim behaviour is giving me Vietnam flashbacks

Battle of ex well managers tonight in cup as killie take on St Mirren

Should be a classic as both managers connoisseurs of wonderful attractive football.

Yep......that is sarcasm from moi

That’ll be a truly eye bleeding event. There is no doubt Chris Sutton is a bellend and says stuff for effect but his StMirren comments were 100% accurate.

Yup,  agreeing with chris Sutton is something I try to avoid but he was correct.  We all remember 2-2 draw last season where GBH was their tactics

aye they tried to kick us off the park that game then robinson came out after it and lied that our fans were cheering and laughing when it looked like a st mirren player got a bad injury,I can't stand that wee cretin,it's just a pity that either him or kettlewell will be in the next round.

St mirren player injured due to his own player pushing our player into his team mate.  Robbo is just angry wee man these days. I didnt mind him at motherwell,  not good to watch but got us some success.  Has been angry ever since his night oot in Edinburgh 🤪

A potential borefest on the cards 😂

Wouldn't be surprised if that game goes to extra time or penalties

If we win tomorrow I would gladly take the winners of this game

Good goal that from Mandron. I always thought he looked like he had zero ball control when he was with us, but that was decent.

So the battle of the ex Motherwell managers / players goes to extra time!

Not sure who I would prefer to win. Given any semi final would be at Hampden, Im not sure it matters.

One thing is for sure though, I wouldnt swap JBA for either of our former gaffers!

Robinson’s a prick and knows it. Kettlewell’s a prick but thinks he isn’t. I know which one I prefer.

It's almost like Sophie's choice.   Hate St Mirren for thuggery style of football,  cannae go Kettlewell after way he threw support under bus.

I do think if Robbo hadn't came up against Celtic in both finals that season we would have won at least one of them

Anyway onwards and upwards , hopefully Jens wins one of the cups

Change of manager hopefully brings us a change in attitude and fortune in cup  competitions

I loved that season. The team weren’t easy on the eye but by God they could grind out wins when it mattered and some big, big wins to celebrate and remember. Scudding Aberdeen at Fir Park then Louis Moult day against Rangers at Hampden in the league cup then beating Hearts in the SCQF with a Carl McHugh belter at the death to set up another rout of Aberdeen in the semis.

That was a Motherwell side with character and bottle and as you say had we been up against what was one of the strongest Celtic sides in either final we would probably have won a trophy.

I liked Robinson and respect him as a manager, but I hope he doesn’t win a trophy with St.Mirren.

Definitely both 3-0 games against today's opponents, the cup semi when Moult scored twice and a good few other games were good that season . He came in and there was a feeling good factor for a while

I certainly don't dislike the man , and would be desperate to see us put one over him if we meet at Hampden , or in any other game

Lennon Miller state of play as Scotland ace awaits debut

Udinese boss Kosta Runjaic has promised Scotland starlet Lennon Miller he will soon be in his plans once he gets up to speed.

The former Motherwell midfielder has yet to kick a ball for his new club following his £6 million move to Serie A in the summer.

The only football he's played this season has been for Scotland as a last-minute sub in the 2-0 World Cup win in Hungary against Belarus.

Miller, 19, hasn't played a domestic game since May, but Runjaic has revealed he will soon introduce Miller into his line-up

He explained: "We certainly don't need to teach Lennon Miller how to play football. He knows how to play all right.

"But he needs to go through this integration period, given that he hasn't played much in the last month. "He's very diligent and is making excellent progress.

"I'm very happy he's here."
