Long Term Injuries

Does anyone know about our long term injuries?

Jacob Blyth: seemed to get injured early on; then out for a spell; back briefly with the Under 20s a month or two back. Hasn't been seen since.

Joe Chalmers: seemingly had a groin injury a few months ago and due to have an operation. Hasn't been heard of since.

Kieran Kennedy: apparently suffered from a nasty virus early in the season. Made a brief comeback a few months ago and hasn't been heard of since.

Kennedy wasn't injured - he was ill, apparently, and couldn't train for a long time (hence McGhee's remarks about how much weight he had lost).

Doesn't, of course, means that McGhee rates him - just that there was a real medical reason for him not playing.

Blyth had been training but suffered a Quadracep injury about 5 weeks ago but is due to train again during the winter break, Kennedy has a hip problem and should train over winter break as well.

Chalmers had a second op on his injury I heard but is back running when I saw the team training on Thursday.

Craig Moore also not far away from full training as well which is good news.

  • 4 weeks later...

Dislocated shoulder, no idea when he'll return.

If he was a rugby player he'd have been back on the pitch 2 minutes later after quick adjustment from the trainer.

Seriously though, hopefully he's not out too long as his development was moving in the right direction. And the U20s could use his services in the semi-final.

Or Scott Leitch. He had a recurring dislocating shoulder (a-la Mel Gibson in Lethal Weapon 2), I remember it happening during games a few times and he just put it back in, strapped it and came back on.
