I received 2 emails last week.

One on 25th June giving information about who was running the ballot, dates etc.

One on the 28th June, which was the regular weekly Society email that reiterated a lot of the info.

The one on the 28th said if you didn't receive the earlier one with the details, to let them know by emailing them at well.society@motherwellfc.co.uk

Hopefully the Well Society are planning to do more accessible media because they haven't put out any kind of formal rebuttal to the revised proposal yet.

They need to move away "I'm a big fan of Erik Barmack" to explaining how he is trying to shaft us.

Listening to how Jay references things (i.e. the Society Board's business plan) on the podcast, I'm not sure he was expecting it to be "out there" as quickly as today, given it was only recorded yesterday; feels like this is just a part of a larger overall communications exercise that will take place this week.

I get the weekly well society emails but not the most important one last week

Apparently there's  2 mailing lists.

One for the weekly newsletter and one for member communications.

I was on the newsletter list but not the other most important one so best emailing the WS to see if you're affected as well.

I'm getting f*** off Barmack vibes from that.

Absolutely . Brian Caldwell seems to be one smart guy .
Kept his powder dry when it would have been tempting to get involved.
I like that .

Dont think it would take a Mensa IQ to figure out what he’s saying .

Hopefully we’ll get this whole debacle done and dusted by end of July and move on at WS and Exec board (whoever that may be ).

On a personal note thanks to all the posters who seem to understand decipher all these share figures /percentages .

An o-level in arithmetic at school isn’t helping .

Been very helpful .

Copied this from my thoughts on P&B:

Personally, I think it's absolutely spot on with everything it's saying; it's realistic, achievable and it embeds the club in the community, which I think the majority of fans and WS members would want to happen.

It's well presented, professional and has clearly been developed with people who absolutely understand how this all works and have experience across the piece in terms of strategic investment, data analytics and business acumen. The plans also show up just how little has been done to tap into the local business market by the current Exec Board and Club leadership. I think this is the kind of thing that everyone can get behind.

There's also enough emotional/heartfelt messaging in there to remind people just what it is that we have as a collective fan owned club.

"Motherwell FC, with its rich history and passionate supporters, is a cornerstone of this effort. Fir Park is more than just a venue for matches; it’s a place where friendships are forged, memories are made, and dreams take flight."

This bit properly choked me up; I fucking love my Club.

Aye, I've had many dreams take flight at Fir Park, never to be seen again!

Seriously though, I've always thought the investment path the Society should be following is the strategic partnership one and happy to see that's at the core of this one.

A nicely laid out explanation of the plan.

The Society Plan is now live:

Our club, our future

A very well presented plan with achievable targets etc, a bit light on the details re what financial inputs from all revenue streams are required but as a proposal/ consultation document that's to be expected.

Overall very impressive and if achieved and the Barmack offer is binned,  I would probably join the WS and review my current opinion of the WS board as "enthusiastic volunteers ", if I had a vote I would vote yes to this option.

I've now read these plans twice. The document is realistic and encouraging, and I'm delighted with its quality. The new Well Society Board has got its shit together big time, which is commendable given the aggressive pressure from the conniving Chairman and unfair time constraints. As a member of the Well Society since 2017, I say well done to all involved, and I look forward to these plans coming to fruition.

Anyone who still wishes to vote in favour of Barmack's (and the Chairman's) pie-in-the-sky proposal after reading the Well Society's sensible plans for both the Society and Club should seriously reconsider their support of MFC and their grasp on reality.

Personal highlights, which I read as a fuck you to the Chairman and his cronies, are:

  • A new shareholder agreement, drafted to ensure any ambiguity in the relationship between the majority shareholder and Club is removed.
  • The appointment of new directors to the Club board to faithfully advocate the views of the membership commensurate with our 71.7% shareholding.

Well done to all involved in the creation of a structured, comprehensive and credible plan outlining the vast potential of our Club and Community. This document needs to land on the doorstep of every Business and dwelling in Lanarkshire (impractical I know but we all need to spread the word in any way we can)

As a byproduct it certainly points to how complacent the current Executive Board have become over the years.

And great to see Grimmy has not lost touch.

It's also important to note that for those who contribute to the Well Society on a monthly basis, and who may have been worried that their money would go directly into the club, the general idea is to maintain the Society's original values, whereby those contributions are still retained for "break glass in emergency" situations.

I mention this because I know it was a concern for a few people.

After reading that through twice, it is well put together and the combination of the Podcast with Jay at least lets us see there is a plan in place from the Society and I look forward to see how much of it comes to fruition for them. Seems to be  a lot of work done around the whole proposal and good to see it doesn't just focus on the club but the community, Womens team, the towns and villages around Motherwell. I hope that includes the likes of Cumbernauld. Its only 20 minutes drive away, so well within travelling distance by car and easily accessible now by train.

I would be surprised if it doesn't; I'm assuming that the data presented represents the (for want of a better management consulting bullshit phrase) low hanging fruit in terms of percentages etc. so other towns would be on the list, too.

Outstanding piece of work carried out by the WS board .
Amazing what fresh faces with good ideas can bring to the table .

Possibly a good time to point out how important it is to have your vote count when electing members to the board . Your vote and who you vote for really matters it really does

Pragmatic and just as import achievable with endless opportunities to expand /progress.

As a fan of 53 years of going to FP and watching my team I’m very happy as to the future vision where it’s safeguarded by like minded people .
A club embedded in  our community .

Mr Barmack if your reading this I’m sure if you didn’t get it before then you must surely get it now .

Do the honourable thing .

If you don’t I’m sure the WS members will do it on your behalf

.PA only thing I’m not entirely in line with is the bit that going to FP has health benefits . I’m pretty sure it’s been a place where my blood pressure has been well and truly tested over the years 😃💪

Agreed - someone on P&B suggested a "thinly-veiled" dig at Dickie and Feeney. There should have been no need to veil anything - they should have been named and shamed in that part.

I think there is a need for the Society Board to be very careful and diplomatic throughout all of this; they're a very public face of a very public opposition to something the Exec Board is pushing.

I think resorting to calling out/naming and shaming wouldn't be in their best interests; it would just fuel the fire of those opposing them and give them more ammo to paint them as "daft wee lads and lasses who aren't business people".

Being professional and doing things in the manner which they're doing them demonstrates an incredible level of control and dignity. They're also going to stand up on Wednesday and take questions and listen to their members/fans; something the Exec Board aren't willing to. That speaks volumes to their character and belief in what they're presenting.

Edit: I think by all means we as fans/non-board members can call out the hypocrisy of certain ex-board members and others, but I think the current Board are handling themselves brilliantly.
