Gigi Becali believes Thursday's 8-1 rout was rigged in a betting scam. Well now face Romanian giants Steaua in the third qualifying round of the Europa League. But Becali said: "The 8-1 result doesn't tell me anything. In fact I think there's something fishy about it. It isn't normal and I have a strong impression it's a typical case of a fix." Becali went on live TV in his homeland moments after the final whistle at New Broomfield to allege the scoreline was a 'blat' - a Romanian term for a fixed football match. He added: "It definitely sounds like a betting affair, for an exact result or for a bet with many goals or a large difference. Becali - voted into the European Parliament last month - doesn't think Jim Gannon's men will find it so easy against Steaua in Thursday's first leg. He added: "We'll respect Motherwell and it will be two tough games. "But there is huge potential for us to have a comfortable home win." I have been away all week and I come back to this controversy. I can see where he's coming from we are talking about it only being lowly Motherwell with players, who lets face it couldn't score in a brothel. Clearly the guy is an embarrassment, as confirmed by the Steaua fans who have arrived on the forum in the past couple of days. Seemingly he makes Romanov at Hearts look like the full shilling.
