Would like to reinforce the my point that, On tuesday the bother was not started by fans young or old wanting to stand for the full duration of the game, It was stewards who were marching in at times when fans generally get excited and stand up.. Mchugh's goal for example we had hardly started celebrating when it all started.

All this about wee "c***s" just wanting to stand and its a sport for them is exactly the inept and out of touch view point the stewards and police have been showing.

Im not a wee c**t, i cant afford to be subjected to arrests and cautions for the heinous crime of celebrsating a goal or cheering on my team up the park. It is this point that is forcing me think about whether or not im enjoying paying the money i do to watch games at Fir Park, and i know im not the only one, how many fans is this going to force away before anyone realises who's really at fault here.

Accident waiting to happen :P Latest in a long line of 'one step forward, two steps back' (good job the team are playing well, deflection) from the corridors of power at the club. Well, the club have promoted some daft office bint into the safety officer role...

Really, really surprised at you saying that Fritz!

And you are 100% out of order getting personal with your comments about Leeann M... If anything, she is the most forward thinking, reasonable Safety Officer we've had! Unfortunately, people can't see the amount of work she does behind the scenes but rest assured, very few people work harder and are fairer than her!

That's the problem with the title though - I don't think people believe for a second that Leann Montgomery has told the stewards to be heavy handed and out of order, but she is supposedly in charge so the buck stops with her, same as any other walk of life unfortunately.

However, what I would say in her defence is, despite the pages of grumbling on here, I doubt there's been one letter in her pigeonhole over this so it's unreasonable to expect anything to change.

I've thought about putting up a logical explanation but i cant be arsed, ultimately the stewards are a joke.

Its safe to stand up on a First Scotrail Lanark to Glasgow train at 7.55am with folk so close that your touching and breathing on them, whilst on a moving vehicle, but its not safe to stand at a football stadium which is practically never at capacity which is moving at a velocity of 0ms-1 and has a vast area of grass which people can spill out on if they are gettign crushed to death.

Its all bullshit...anyone who sticks up for it is totally subordinate.

Edit: I understand not being able to stand at somewhere like Emirates or something which has a large capacity which is probably almost full each week, but dont police across the board, police to your particular scenario, and ours doesnt require the anal approach which they are taking.

Post of the thread sir!!

If anything the youngster should goto the police for assualt. Although no doubt they tossers will turn a blind eye to it.

Another thing is, if its a guideline to sit on yer arse for the 90 minutes what about the 15 minute break during the game? Alot more people moving about etc. It'll no doubt come to a time where yer no allowed to move apart from half time.

If that Leanne is the most forward thinking security person at the club then how come she's brought in a bunch of incompetant set of stewards. Tuesday night was the worst i've seen it, was an absolute disgrace to say the least.

Thing is, the first home game was perfect I felt, the stewards let people stand sing etc, just warned them not to get out of hand and at one time in the game when asked to sit down for 5 mins, the people did and then resumed standing at the next time when it was appropriate and this happened throughout the game.

The problems start when the stewards wade in for no reason and start forcing you to sit down etc, I don't know the Dance Commander has changed from that game, but its a shame as there was a good atmosphere at the Killie match and no hassle with stewards and fans, sadly it's taken a huge step back on Tuesday.

There should be designated standing areas throughout the stadium. Thus, those that want to stand do not block the view of those that dont.

As things stand (or not <_< ) this issue will not go away, and won't be addressed by the authorities until such time that all fans act together. All fans at all clubs (as it's a problem at all clubs) should stand in protest, and all walk out when any individual is escorted from the premises. Chances of that happening are probably nil mind you.

Throwing people out of a stadium when they were standing at the far end of the East stand where the pitch view down the touchline is very poor, and where they are not blocking the view of fellow fans is a joke.

It seems you can stand at any major event, or journey in public transport, but not a football match with less than 30% of the stadium full. madness.

How can you comment on this issue but not explain to the fans why this is happening? and what the club ared doing to address this? Even tell us the clubs position on it. The stewards are alienating the fans and the currrent situation can't continue.

Just finishing word and not read whole thread but with regards to this point...

They can't really ignore it if the boy requests the CCTV footage from the club, which he is quite entitled to do.

I'm not sure you could classify it as an "assault". I saw the incident and the steward did lift his hands to the boy and it did look like it ripped his jacket, but does that constitute assualt?

Yes it does, you lay your hands on someone under 16 and you could potentially be in real trouble, Motherwell football club take note. The silence from those who post on here connected with the club is deafening, it's about time someone actually spoke out.

I'm assuming that the stewards are employees of MFC. If I had lifted my hands to any young person I worked with it would have been a sackable offence. A 14 year old was flung out the ground, manhandled and when he asked to phone a parent he was told to fuck off? What would have happened if something had happened to him on the way home if someone hadn't been able to contact his mum? Do you want the club splashed all over the press? For all the wrong reasons? What a way to treat a fan, it's absolutely disgusting. How on earth can anyone connected with the club think this is in any way acceptable. It's a disgrace. Anyone within the club who even thinks this is acceptable needs to take a long hard look at how you are treating sections of fans who pay good money to watch the club.

You do not lift your hands to teenagers or any other Motherwell fan. The fact that it was an under 16 makes it worse because anywhere else that steward who touched him would never work in that line of work again. It is not acceptable, end of and there should be an inquiry as to why there are people who have a yellow jacket on who are employed by MFC who seem to be little more than power crazed thugs.

Motherwell fc, whether you like it or not, you are accountable for these employees.
