Yes it does, you lay your hands on someone under 16 and you could potentially be in real trouble, Motherwell football club take note. The silence from those who post on here connected with the club is deafening, it's about time someone actually spoke out.

I'm assuming that the stewards are employees of MFC. If I had lifted my hands to any young person I worked with it would have been a sackable offence. A 14 year old was flung out the ground, manhandled and when he asked to phone a parent he was told to fuck off? What would have happened if something had happened to him on the way home if someone hadn't been able to contact his mum? Do you want the club splashed all over the press? For all the wrong reasons? What a way to treat a fan, it's absolutely disgusting. How on earth can anyone connected with the club think this is in any way acceptable. It's a disgrace. Anyone within the club who even thinks this is acceptable needs to take a long hard look at how you are treating sections of fans who pay good money to watch the club.

You do not lift your hands to teenagers or any other Motherwell fan. The fact that it was an under 16 makes it worse because anywhere else that steward who touched him would never work in that line of work again. It is not acceptable, end of and there should be an inquiry as to why there are people who have a yellow jacket on who are employed by MFC who seem to be little more than power crazed thugs.

Motherwell fc, whether you like it or not, you are accountable for these employees.

Amen.

On Tuesday night, I was standing up the back a couple of seats from the aisle, as I always do, and the Steward at the end of the aisle was standing minding his own business, exactly as I was for the first half hour of the game. A more senior steward (ie, walkie talkie and small penis) came over all heavy handed and told me to sit down. The way in which I was spoken to could have, in a more tense environment or with someone a bit less tolerant, led to a scene out of nothing. To make matters worse, he then gave the young steward who was doing his job exactly how he should to my mind, a very public and patronising dressing down about being vigilant and observant to potential flash points. Anyone with in fifty yards could tell that the only person causing any potential flashpoints was himself.

This has gone on for too long, and something has to be done. However, I think we may be farting against thunder as a lot of wee idiots do annoy people down the far end and I don't doubt that some older people are relieved when they're chucked out. People minding their own business like I was being spoken to like a second-class citizen are suffering as a result.

Another point is that because of the cheaper entry fee on Tuesday, there was possibly a number of fans in the ground who wouldn't normally go and, if they were victims of this heavy handed stewarding or witnessed it, I doubt they'd return in a hurry.

I did nip to the toilets but is it not the case that you were standing as you often do behind the back row rather than in it and you were asked to move into the seating area, and possibly to sit doon as well. Yer dad also got moved on sharply for stopping to talk to you at same bit. Still arsey behaviour from the steward superivsor guy who was a pecker all night!

Saw this as well. It did mean I had to stand up to see the game though. Wonder what he was bothered about? Potential trouble brewing in the POD stand? It's not exactly the most fervent of places.

No problem in the POD, some of the stewards dont speak English and need their roles clearly stated to them in simple terms. The stewards are employed by a private company who are obviously hired by MFC.

Seconded. There's a lot of good work that goes on behind the scenes that folk don't know about. Out of sight out of mind I guess.

I entirely agree but shoving a fourteen year old lad out of the stadium and giving a member of his family abuse is not on.

I don't care about the amount of good work that goes on behind the scenes when incidents like that happen, because it ruins it. I worked with young people for 17 years, if I had lifted my hands to a 14 year old I'd have been sacked and never worked in that line of work again.

So what makes Motherwell fc different. What makes it worse for me is that we are having one of the best spells on the pitch we have had for a long time and this happens.

Anyone connected with MFC should be big enough to take criticism on the chin when stuff like this happens. I don't know the safety officer at Motherwell but as far as I am concerned the buck stops with her.

I don't care who steps in and sorts this mess out but someone should. Soon.

The use threatening behavior, foul or abusive language is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN. Racist, homophobic, discriminatory or sectarian remarks, songs or chants; and the promotion or endorsement of any political or proscribed terrorist organisations is not permitted within the Stadium or on the Club's property and may result in arrest and a lifetime ban from regulated football matches.

Why were most of the Rangers fans not chucked out ?

I do believe that there is a huge amount of 'behind the scenes' work going on that we don't know about. However, as others have said, what the fans do know about is what happened on Tuesday night and this is putting the club in a bad light. I don't agree with the way that the stewards dealt with the fans at the game at all and Motherwell should be doing something about this. Nobody from the club has made any comment about the stewarding at the ICT game and whilst I understand what 'Flow is saying, rather than tell us how well various people are working at the club, tell us what we actually want to know. Tell us why the stewards were being unnecessarily heavy handed on Tuesday and what is going to be done to get things back to how they were the first couple of games of the season.

Everybody knows by now that if you stand up you run the risk of getting lifted.

I was always against the all-seated stadia and no-standing regulations, and would welcome back a section of terracing. However, I also know that until that happens, I stand at my own risk. I don't condone any heavy handed tactics by the stewards or the polis. If that happens a formal complaint should be made to the club and the authorities.

It seems like every other week, however, that people are posting how surprised they are someone got chucked out for standing. If you want to try and change things, there are more constructive (and likely more successful) ways to tackle it.

The Police would say that after a risk assessment, that option would not be viable in the interest of their and the public's safety.

So does that work if there is an armed robbery ? that after a risk assessment, that option would not be viable in the interest of their and the public's safety

No, as the robbery has already taken place so they would call in specialist firearms officers.

At the football the procedure would be to minimise/prevent crowd unrest.

So its a case of mob rule ?

Pretty much it would seem.

A stand full of Rangers fans would be a different proposition to them than a section of < 100 'well fans.

The thing is though, you would expect the police could probably, at the very least, make recommendations to Rangers/SFA etc about the conduct of the fans.

Edit: thats when you start getting into details about culpability. For example, the tickets were sold to the individuals by Motherwell. It happenned in our ground etc, etc.
