Think it's only Motherwell fans who feel that way . Personal view is would be significantly less risk if we have 3 at the back and pushed wingbacks up - for both him and Longelo . McGhee or JGR would also work for me at RB (at least test them)

Not far off what I’d go with! McGhee at right back is a good shout. I’m still not sure if JKL is a better option than JGR but maybe with more game time he can prove it! Without Lowery and Preistman that front 6 should be a given in my opinion.

And that proves he’s more than capable of scoring goals are our level. I agree his form hasn’t been great, however hes still young, this first professional club and he’s going to come in and out of form. I think we need to support him and look at how we best set the team up to get him in the box more often.

So if he wins its a bad thing and if he loses its bad too...thats a clear and obvious goal, hopefully u dont do team talks anytime.

Indeed but it shows you don't need a striker to hold it up for it to work. I actually think the absence of Slattery is more an issue here. His willingness to take the ball whether he had a man on him or not and hold on to it was vastly underappreciated by a lot of people...

The problem with dropping JT is who do you play in his place that will a) work harder than him b) provide more of a goal threat The way we set up with SPH thru the middle, we need goal threat from the wider areas and midfield. Ibbie gives us that from midfield and Kanga is starting to look like he might be the answer on the left. However, our options on the right are JT, Sparrow or Willy Vogt! I know he hasnt been producing the goods goal wise for a long time, and I have been critical of him. But he does his defensive duties in respect of covering the fullback, albeit his tackling is pretty poor. I wouldnt be against playing Sparrow in front of McGhee or Johnnie K, but he isnt going to provide much of a goal threat.

Hendry is a grafter. He will run about and do things, but his composure in front of goal is no better than SPH or Eythor are at the moment. Not quite the same player as Seb, a bit more physical maybe. But deserves a chance to see if he can resurrect himself / find something within. Dont think he solves any of our longer term problems though.

I must have missed something. When I saw him play i thought he was no very good , crap in fact. Could time be clouding some memory's here.

Hendry when he came into the team held the ball reasonably well - i don’t believe he’s the answer as he seemed to be more interested in finding who to have a battle with - and never had a great goal record BUT He’s a bit like Curtis main - not a great goal scorer but has the ability and strength to bring others in (when fit !)

The big question for me is what level of man management does he need to get the best from him . He’s clearly got talent and when confidence is high has scored a lot , and some exceptional goals . but it seems that a lot of work is required to bring that out - JBA managed it well - but it shouldn’t always be up to the manager . suspect that’s why no one signed him and unless he hits form he really should be dropped - albeit not for Thor

Sadly with our defence I wouldn't be confident beating anyone right now.
