No, currently Jim Paterson
-
Has he been taking the B team games then?
- Yesterday
-
Longelo, Koutroumbis & Slattery all in the training pics which is encouraging. I agree that Gordon & Welsh should start. Although this Livvy side are not the long ball, physical side of old, Gordon still provides more set piece security.
-
From the training pics it looks as if Longelo is fine
-
Maybe JBA doesn't need him at the first team games because he integrates the youngsters a different way.
-
Yeah but that was also his position last season yet he was in the dugout most if not all weeks….even as lead development coach you’d expect him to have to attend games same as the u18’s do and sit in main stand not commentating on rangers games
-
I was wondering this too , last couple of seasons especially when Kettlewell was there he was always involved Noticed he has disappeared a bit recently
-
Lead Development Coach, not a first team role.
-
Is he still involved? Noticed he’s been back on BBC doing punditry for them rather than being in attendance at our games on Saturdays as he was last season….not seen anything to say he’s not but just wondered? who’s been taking B team games?
-
JBA still has plenty of mistakes to make and lessons to learn, just like the players who keep making individual errors. That’s football. He should also know by now what needs to be done in January to strengthen both defence and attack.
-
Absolutely, plus bringing on subs at the right moment i.e just before individuals start to tire.
-
Our football is a joy to watch and as good as any team in the league. If we can fix our issues or at least cut down the frequency of shooting ourselves in the foot we could do very well.
-
Individual errors and ineffective game management as well, that's what we need to improve on, manager and players alike, learn when to go forward and when not to, if we get that balance right we will be in very good shape.
-
Exactly, if anyone is seriously suggesting we go back to Kettlewell style the world has gone mad. We are only 4 months in and look at the vast difference in style and fans enjoying the style. Results haven't matched that with individual errors costing us in a few of those games
-
Yup, Gordon for McGinn for me also. If both full backs slight doubt then I would play Sparrow right back and SOD on the left
-
Agree that we need to win, this is the type of game we always need to win and fingers crossed we do. Personally think some of the criticism is a bit harsh. We're the 4th top scorers in the league and at half time on Saturday we were at that moment 3rd - appreciate it was fleeting but it does highlight the margins. Appreciate we've fluffed our lines at times, some defending has been poor but in the main it's been individual errors rather than poor tactics and that could well be down to the type of player we can afford at our level. I do think the energy expelled in the first half comes back to bite us - a little more judgement needed re when just to keep the ball v's go in all out attack but we're literally less than a handful of games into a new season, new squad, new manager. This is all going to take time. The positive re low expectations is that's often when we surprise ourselves. 3 points please at the weekend chaps, that will do nicely.
-
I think I would also pair Gordon with Welsh. as an aside, Not sure what was going on against Falkirk but on Several occasions Welsh seemed to be well behind our other defenders.
-
Slattery shouldn't start. Maybe give him 15/20 minutes when we start to flag late on. Swap Gordon for McGinn as Livi will be very physical. Will Longelo & Koutroumbis be fit? If we are in a position to do so, we shouldn't risk anyone unnecessarily.
-
So many questions!!! I cant cope! 🤣🤣🤣
-
Is Slattery back for this? do we play him on the artificial turf? Does he start or Come on from the bench? if he starts who drops out. does cook start, to give us more attacking/scoring option? few more questions to be thinking about as well!! who’d be a manager ? So much to think about!

League Cup Semi Motherwell v St Mirren 1/11/2025

Sadly, a few including Giles and Bear have passed. Was taken on the bus with Drew Moore. Not seen him in years, but, his son and grandsons are regulars ‘up by’ as are Giles’ family. -
Was she a bit of a snake? Ahhh got wrong specs on......🤪🤪
-
No one's asking for long ball football as far I am aware. No fan criticising has advocated complete alternate approach. Most would agree we are disappointed not to have more points on board. Just need to be more direct at times in matches and more clinical up front. In addition the being more robust in defence.
-
Definitely, I will gladly take any type of performance on Saturday if it ends up a win

I'll never understand why the sections with the best views etc don't get sold first, the whole set up with Hampden is a shambles. Plus its only going to get worse if we make the final and have to make do with what's left after the blue or green uglies and all the corporate freeloaders have been accommodated.
