  1. Past hour
  2. I was okay with the starting selection to begin with as he has earned the right to prove us all wrong. But it was fairly obvious from early in the second half that we needed fresh legs and more width to counteract what United were doing, so my only beef is that the subs should have come earlier. We looked more of a threat when Longelo and Said came on. Be nice to see them start on Saturday.
  3. Ive not heard but i suspect its not using the multi ball system we have at Fir park and thd ball boys being instructed to take as much time as possible to return the ball, to stop us getting on eith the game quickly.
  4. Not a crunch game in the true sense, but an important one nonetheless if we're serious about a top 6 challenge. Dundee hasn't got the best defensive record in the league; in fact its joint worst with Livingston. However thats only a factor if we can pressurise them and get the ball into their box. JT will be absent as might Stephen Welsh. Two potentially big losses. Hopefully, JBA will pick a more adventurous defence.
  5. This is where JBA earns his corn, like every other manager. John McGlynn and Jim Goodwin changed their game to negate us but in doing so sacrificed their own game, although the media won't say that. Its now up to JBA to tweak our own approach to counteract that. And, so it goes on... Yes, it was a more cautious team selection and presumably JBA got it very slightly wrong.
  6. Agreed. We need to be winning this. We have proved team selection isnt necessarily defining for a Jens team, but attitude will be. Come out the blocks firing with the desire to make a statement. Lets go into the tough holiday period feeling good about ourselves.
  7. Today
  8. Shows how far we’ve come when we’re disappointed not to win at Tanndadice On a wet & windy December afternoon it was always going to be tough . Teams are getting wise and negate us playing through them , they also know how to handle (man handle) Just who is an excellent player but it’s man v boy in physical sense. I felt it was obvious from early on that we needed width which SOD won’t offer and JK limited on left . For me id have have Sparrow Longelo on , both are very effective . Said and RCC both offer a bit of physicality, having them on much earlier would have improved things . All that being said , 0-0 is decent . I can’t recall being close to Xmas and only losing 2 games .
  9. Who else was getting hacked off with the ball boys behaviour? Very same happened at Falkirk the other week.
  10. If we are serious about top6 then we need to be winning games like this. No JT for this game but I think RCC can come in and do a good job for us.
  11. It’s a wee bit strange that we are high up the scoring ranks but yet have went 5 games in a row with a clean sheet and only won 2 of those games. Which obviously points to us needing more goals.
  12. A win or a draw? Would love a score win, but it is what it is. SIWY
  13. Yes, I think we will make it, but I've watched the Well for too many years now to take anything for granted. We can't afford to rest on our laurels. Today proved that we are still blunt up top even though we are one of the league's top galscorers. We've drawn quite a few games in which we dominated possession buit couldn't put the ball in the net.
  14. We’ve proven that we can go toe to toe with any team in the league so we should certainly be aiming for top 6 and as high up as possible, not just 6th.
  15. I'll stick my neck out and say that I'll be very surprised if we don't make top six. We're already 6 points ahead of Falkirk and 10 clear of United, I don't really see them or anyone else putting together a sort of run that would overhaul us.
  16. Yesterday
  17. Not a great result but not a bad one. It still keeps us in the hunt for a top 6 place. If we want to achieve that though we need to convert draws into wins and source a striker next month. Draws on the road are fine as long as you win the home games.
  18. As a generalisation, typical of United fans.
  19. I thought Slattery gave the ball away a lot today, but he was always available to take it again and never hid. Not his best day at the office, but he was in the same boat as a number of others. Fadinger for example started very poorly, although he came onto a game and put himself about a bit defensively. I do agree though, Slattery isnt at the level he was at last season or at the start of this one. It does look as if his fitness has gone back a little bit. Not sure if thats lack of game time or lifestyle choices. Hopefully he can back to his early season levels as we go into the new year.
  20. Yup, needs to up game as plenty options available. Still a key player and on his day we know what he can produce
  21. Said in jest I know but 80% is low for us we are generally 84/85%.
  22. I'm in two minds , sort of happy with the point but by fuck Utd are utter shite that's two points dropped.
  23. He was the poorest on the team today. He's back to the way he was playing before his long term injury involved in unnecessary fouls and passing was shocking.
  24. Utd were playing to not get beat and sneak a goal against us. We were at least trying to win the game but our touch and passing were below par today. However, it’s good to not get beaten when you have an off day. I’m hoping we will play better next week and conditions will be conducive to good football. We know that we are not going to play great every week so we can’t be too hard on the players when they have an off day. A win next week against Dundee would be good to set us up for the two old firm games coming up
  25. No real stand out today. Loads of ok performances. Coulda picked McGinn, Watt, Fadinger, Just. Went for Johnny K just because he was solid again playing out of position.
