  1. Past hour
  2. Without wishing to state the obvious or be trite but it’s high time the manager realised that playing nice football and cutting teams to shreds is all very well but the object of the game is to score goals and concede less than you score. It’s now 1 win in 8 league games and that’s just not good enough. When we struggled to win games under the previous incumbent there were calls for him to be sacked. I’m not for one minute saying that’s on the cards but the manager badly needs to start putting wins on the board as we have slipped into the danger zone, early as it is, but experience shows that teams who are down there by year-end, usually get relegated.
  3. That kind of talk is okay when we’re winning games but when we have one league win in eight attempts then it’s pretty hollow. As has been acknowledged we have some good players and can play some nice stuff but that counts for little if you don’t make it count and so far we haven’t. Even the one solitary league game that we did win only came about thanks to a goalkeeper error and a penalty all within injury time. I like alot of what I have seen so far this season but unfortunately we have fallen short more often than not when it comes to results and I remain far from convinced that this team and manager will be able to turn it around in the long run.
  4. This weekend last year we lost at home to Dundee. Think back to the shite we had to endure the shite tactics and players picked and signed by the bellend . I know whose team I would rather watch , win lose or draw.
  5. Today
  6. I said at 1 0 that we needed a second goal because we simply cannot hold a 1 goal lead. It was proved correct (again). Pretty on the eye yes but not got the heart when things go bad. At 1 1 only one team was going to win. And it wasn't us.
  7. How could he not be we beat ourselves again.
  8. This was my first home game this season after recovering from an operation and having extra Saturday family commitments so I haven't commented on our team this season. I was really impressed with our passing and movement in the first half and at times our play reminded me of the skilful Ancell Babes team I watched in my first years at Fir Park but I was nervous at half time because of our slender lead, although Falkirk looked all at sea and could only muster one corner in the first 45. All John McGlynn did in the second half was to push his team up and press us and we fell apart and I can't improve on Big Stall's analysis above. Our defence was so easy to unpick it reminded me of our Alexander/Hammell/Kettlewell years as we succumbed passively to late pressure and threw away the points. What concerned me most was that Jens Askou seemed devoid of a Plan B to combat Falkirk's obvious counter measures and consequently there was no reaction as the game slipped away from us. So may of our attacks seemed to lack conviction when it came to pulling the trigger and there seemed to be a lack of fighting spirit and dig when things started to go against us. Callum Hendry looked unfit and was blowing like a Beluga after 60 minutes and if he is our cover for Stama then we have real problems up front. Our manager needs to react quickly to come up with some answers because it will be obvious to other teams if we can't adapt to changing circumstances in a game. If he doesn't, our chances of beating a physical and streetwise St Mirren in the LCSF will be slim and our league form will suffer further. .
  9. 100% correct . I keep hearing people saying that the opposition tumbled to our style. I don't buy that. Sure 2nd half Falkirk tried to press us further up the park but we stopped doing what we've been good at in the 1st half. The entire team fell behind the ball and started defending on the edge of our own 18 yard box. If we had continued to play our passing game and not sat back we would have got space in the midfield, couple that to the fact our final ball is truly shocking. This was no McGlynn masterclass we made life easy for them and in the end Falkirk got what they deserved. Losing Longello was a blow and the other substitutions didn't actually improve us. So frustrating.
  10. What is going on a half time that's what I want to know are they all getting a blanket and having a wee power nap cause they are coming out in the 2nd half looking like they are half awake and no clue what's going on. Jekyll and Hyde FC
  11. It was bad today, but a defeat 8 games in is disappointing its not relegation form.
  12. Positive is the manager sounds fucking livid!
  13. Honestly in shock at that. First half may have been our best football yet. It was that good. We can blame VAR all we want but VAR didnt make the players not show up for the 2nd half! Complete turnaround. No composure on the ball, no tight triangles, sitting back rather than hunting in packs. It was as if they believed their own hype at half time & went home. That will teach them!
  14. 7495, a great turn out but that second half will see us return to our normal dreadful 4000/4500 if we don't beat Livingston. So desperately disappointing. Got what we deserved today.
  15. It’s definitely a tight league and this year in particular every side, including Celtic are beatable. I think we have one of the more talented squads in the league though and we do play good stuff. I honestly do not see us finishing in the bottom six.
  16. As shite as it is that we are now sitting 9th in the league there is only 3 points to 3rd so it's going to be a tight league,in past seasons we've had a good striker and a good goalkeeper but the football was dire getting enough points to stay in the league,I just hope with this "silky" soccer we can scrape enough points to stay up again,it's a funny old game.
  17. People need to calm down. As poor as today was, and it was very poor second half, I would say it's the first truly bad performance.. Have we dropped points in other games that we shouldn't have? Sure, but generally down to individual errors. Today entire team seemed off second half. Are there concerns? Sure. No cover for a player as key to the system as Longelo seems a huge oversight. The subs seem sometimes to not make sense. Watt was having (by some distance) his worst game for us yet Fadinger was taken off. Like I say, concerns but no need to panic. Looking at results in isolation, today was the first one that you'd say, unacceptable...
  18. Okay. So who were you referring to here then? I’m not going to hijack the thread by making it about this so this is the last I’ll say on this subject but like I’ve already said I don’t see how it is relevant who the player who scores against us supports or previously plays for. Anyway, moving on.
  19. Loss against Livi and the shite will hit the fan and start spreading!Folk will start dwindling off again when we get sucked back down the bottom of the table. We have next to no end product it's all well and fine having X amount of possession but we have nothing to show for it it's becoming predictable. First half always decent and 2nd half opposite teams management staff have us sussed quicker than a one piece jigsaw puzzle and we don't have an answer to combat it. Very very enjoyable season football wise but it's off the charts frustrating.
  20. There's definitely truth in that, even this early in the season we have created the blueprint for the opposition on how to play against us,all they need to do is stay in the game and we will crumble, the next game at home could very well be a carbon copy of today.
  21. It's disappointing again dropping more points , I certainly won't be turning against the gaffer or any of the players We do seriously need a few wins very soon . Crazy to think how much further up the league we would be right now if we had even took some of those dropped points
  22. I didn’t mention rangers, I said about airfield, similar to when polworth scored against us. You didn’t mention that. Only any negative rangers comments trigger you.
  23. Russel Martin get flak for refusing to or being unable to change tactics on a game. Jba is similar. When teams adjust/ change tactics against us, he has no plan b.
  24. Says you who brought Rangers into this discussion in the first place?? 😂 I don’t know about you or anyone else, but my only concern is Motherwell and how we play and if we get beat then I really couldn’t care less what team the player who scores supports/used to play for.
  25. There’s no arguing with any of this. You can point to good football and ‘if onlys’ all you like but the bottom line is that we are now in mid/late October and have ONE solitary league win on the board. And when you take into account the points we have thrown away from winning positions in several games now then it really is damning reading. Today should have been three points but we have yet again thrown that away because we aren’t capable of making advantage count and seeing a game out when on top. The longer that goes on the bigger the issue it becomes.
  26. It’s always about rangers with you 🤦‍♂️take the half and half scarf off FFS
