I think JBA and the players are going to get us 3 points from this one. COYW!!
-
It does seem a tad cliquey but it is what is plus they are saving giving him the manager of the year award for next season when JBA guides us to a league title. Up the Well!
- Today
-
All valid nominations, but I know who I want as MFC manager next season, and it’s none of the above
-
There's probably a combination of reasons, but there's no doubt in my mind that a segment of the voters chose McGlynn over JBA because they wanted to nominate a Scottish manager rather than some upstart foreigner trying to modernise the Scottish game. You don't need to go too far back in the season to find all the criticism doled out at the start of our project. McInnes will win it anyway, and JBA will be on the sportswriters' nominations no doubt.
-
It could be. But it probably isn't.
-
If JBA and the players feel he's been hard done by, the shortlist couldn't have come out at a better time.
-
Or it could simply just be that McInnes taking Hearts from bottom six to the brink of the League title in his first season, McGlynn getting Falkirk promotion, top six AND a Scottish Cup Semi Final and lastly Naysmith defying the odds with Stenhousemuir are all seen as more deserving of the award than JBA? There doesn’t need to be any kind of underlying resentment or anything like that I’d say it’s more that the other three have achieved more tangible feats.
-
I think thats it. Scottish football is a pretty small and parochial system and anything which upsets the apple cart isn't welcomed.
-
Voted by their peers. So it may be a confident foreign manager playing better football than everyone else, on a much smaller budget, isn’t particularly liked by certain old school managers throughout the country. Not a massive surprise.

East Kilbride manager should have been a stick on nomination.
-
Yes, he probably will. I once saw some advice online: "Never get down and dirty with a pig. The pig will just enjoy it and you always end up covered in shit." In any case, if Hearts beat them on Monday night, they'll be cooked. I love the smell of crackling in the morning 😈.

Pretty reasonable nominations. It’s impossible to see past McInnes this season for the job he has done at Hearts - taking them from bottom six last season to a few wins away from being League Champions - and I don’t see how there can be any reasonable argument against that. With McGlynn and Falkirk they have had a superb season and reached the SF of the Scottish Cup. For a side just promoted that’s pretty good going. Naysmith at Stenhousemuir is a bit of an outsider but he’s got them in a great position for promotion against the odds. And then on to our manager JBA. He has been fantastic for us and surpassed all expectations but I’m personally quite pleased he has been overlooked for this award as it might just keep his stock low enough to keep him here for a bit longer. Wishful thinking perhaps but anything that gives us an advantage as a club then I’ll take it. The reality is that Jens May very well not be with us next season but I still think there is a chance that he will be, and the less folk shouting about his credentials the better for Motherwell FC.
-
In 2 weeks time this same guy will be asking if Motherwell can do his team a favour and beat Celtic I absolutely hope we do , but not for him Haha
-
All valid nominations, JBA was probably fourth in the vote.
-
Facts are wasted on stumers, something I have discovered the hard way. You were quite right, best not to engage, and not to argue with half wits.
-
The nominations for the manger of the year award are out, and there is no place for JBA which i find a bit surprising. McInnes, McGlynn & Naysmith vie for manager award - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c072ne3499yo

I'm definitely liking the fact we are releasing Retro kits as there was classics from that era and when you see people at the games wearing them they definitely stand the test of time Next one for me should be the 1994/1996 Home which I had , and I loved Unfortunately for me someone stole it from my Mum's washing line back in the day so I'd definitely pay for this one
-
All about making money but as I’ve always said the people who are going to buy the kits will do so and those who aren’t won’t buy them. This season we have only worn the change kit in the away games where you would expect us to wear it, ie. Dundee Utd, Hearts, Aberdeen & Livingston which is the way it should be. Other years though we have ‘overcooked’ the away kit especially it seems when it’s a mostly Claret effort. The one from 23/24 that we wore when we won at Ibrox two years ago got a fair few outings and the 18/19 kit we wore it just about every single away game expect ironically enough against Hearts and Aberdeen because it would have caused a colour clash. I really didn’t like that. (And I say that as someone who is a massive fan of the mid 90s Claret with amber pinstripes kit that we wore against Dortmund and was delighted to see the club launch a retro version of that recently.)

Rangers fan I work with clearly still getting his digs in today Ha Conversation between myself and my fellow Well fan when discussing Europe. "Ach you's dont deserve Europe anyway beating the Teddy Bears" Few hours later it was a case of "It must have been a while since you last were in Europe? Willie Pettigrew must have been still playing then" I was actually thinking of letting him know Willie Pettigrew never played in Europe for us, but thought Nah
-
🤪 like it
-
Agree about that. Away kits are all about shifting product now. Much better to play in club colours whenever possible.
-
Just a minute you 😎
-
I’m a big fan of this years away kit but I really don’t like seeing us wearing our change kits when there is no clash of colour with the opposition. We should be in Claret & Amber as much as possible and thankfully this season we have been.

I was talking to a Rangers fan earlier today whom I always thought was quite normal. He quickly blew that by saying he was sick of Scottish football because everyone was raising their game just to beat Rangers. When I pointed out both Hearts and MFC had beaten Celtic there was an awkward moment: which allowed me toexpresss surprise at the time. I thought it was Sellick fans who were supposed to be paranoid.

Do any other players dislike it apart from just? .......ba boom 🤣
