Celtic have kept 1 clean sheet in their last 12 league matches and that was against St Mirren who can't score against anyone. So there should be at least 1 goal there for us. Celtic's last 5 away matches they have a draw, a loss and three jammy 2-1 wins. Clearly this game is doing to be down to how we defend. If we can keep Celtic to 1 or 0 we are probably getting something out the game. We have some defensive issues but only Falkirk have scored more than once against us at Fir Park since August so I still think we should be going into this match with confidence. And lets remember we are playing for guaranteed European football so it's not like are just playing to spoil someone else's party. Although that would be nice too...

Just seems to have an auto-charge function. He runs about like a maniac, gets chopped and looks like he's crocked. Then 10 seconds later, jumps back up again and off he goes. If he has a strong World Cup he could bring in a nice transfer fee. Not that I want him to leave, but he's been my player of the season. Fantastic business bringing him in.
-
Same players, though, and they were fortunate to beat us at Celtic park with the dodgy pen. And just as reminder, only Falkirk have picked up 3 points at Fir Park this season.

Justin Amaluzor playing his part in Gimsby Town's first minute opener in the League Two play-off semi final.

They also had a manager completely out his depth and they were in the middle of one of their worst domestic runs in decades. That takes nothing away from how brilliant we were that night as all of that was outwith our control but I strongly suspect that things will be different on Wednesday night as they will be going hell for leather to get the result.

Our starting 11 last time we cuffed them at Fir Park was: Ward O'Donnell Sparrow McGinn Koutroumbis Slattery Fadinger Watt Priestman Said Just

Going to be a very tough game on Wednesday with some key defenders missing. We best be keeping a high percentage of posession, although, having Fadinger back should help. I really want us going into last game with 4th spot tied up. Not sure that Rangers will help us any as they are now stuck in third spot with nothing to play for. Come on Motherwell let’s finish home schedule on a high and beat Celtic again.

You'll not be going then.

He definitely has been targetted. The number of fouls committed on him in the last few games has been quite ridiculous. I know he is quick and often nips the ball away before his opponent, but they are all leaving the foot in to ensure they stop him breaking away. Thankfully he is young(ish) and quite hardy for a wee guy.
-
Noticing a trend recently with opposition targeting Just for 'special' treatment. Were all three Hearts bookings for fouls on him?
-
Thats really shit if confirmed. Means we probably have to go with Gordon and SOD in the middle on Wednesday. Thankfully Johnny K is back so hopefully he can at least start and give us 60 minutes as I dont fancy having Sparrow outside Gordon.
-
Last time we beat them with SOD, Sparrow, McGinn and Koutroumbis at the back and no centre forward.

Re the penalties. For me, Kyziridis is running away from goal and has lost control of the ball. There is slight contact from Maswanhise, but Kyziridis heels are spring loaded and he throws himself to the ground quite embarassingly. Ive seen them given, and I would have been screaming for it, but I think McLean gets that right, and fairplay to him for standing his ground. My justification for that is the foul on Welsh for Shanklands goal. I dont think there was enough in that either, but there is way more contact than the penalty claim and the push stops Welsh getting any sort of jump on the ball. Boyd and McFadden apply double standards there. If they think Kyziridis is a stonewall pen then it has to be a foul on Welsh. You cant have it both ways. As for JTs pen. I was certain it was a pen at the game but when you see it slowed down, he definitely kicks the Hearts players leg and loses his balance. No pen for me.

I hope we can get a result on Wednesday, going to be difficult especially with a lot of defenders out and a centre forward who has fone hee haw since transfer window shut. Fingers crossed. COYW

We’re getting pumped on Wednesday. 1-4

From Skippy Sunday to Watt Wednesday.

Its 3-1 to Celtic now, so i presume they will be well up for the game on Wednesday as they need a win. But that said they are nothing special so hopefully we will get in their faces from the start.

I see Longelo as our main attacking threat. As seen with our goal. Yet most of our pressing seemed to be down the right wing when Longelo seemed to be crying out for service. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks! What's wrong with being a grandad? 🤔

As others have said great atmosphere and a decent game last night. Thought we were better in the first half and Hearts tried to drag us down to their level in the second half.

Exactly.

Although both the professionals in the studio said that's exactly what they used to do 😅

Typical McInnes tactics first half even teams not too many fouls ,second half they target playmaker Just for some tough treatment. Great entertainment for a Saturday night under the floodlights. We really are a good team.
-
Thats it exactly. Happened right in front of us in the disabled shelter and although there was contact it was minimal and the diving wee runt tried to make the most of it. If someone is standing on your foot you cant jump 2 feet into the air.The couple of dramatic rolls around the pitch afterwards probably influenced McLean and the VAR team. If he had just simply gone down without all the amateur dramatics he might have got the decision.

McGhee and McGinn apparently out for rest of season. Celtic getting beat just now is good for us. We need Rangers to have something to play for against Hibs.
