Fadinger will be a contender for player of the season. Slattery probably won't make it into the top 3 midfielders of the season which shows the high standards in the middle of the park.
-
We missed Fadinger today. That’s the first time in a while a team has had a good bit of joy in the midfield against us. positives were Longelo looking really positive going forward and also our subs looked excellent, they combined really well to help us over the line Going to be tough in Pittodrie but I think today will give the team lots of confidence going into the cup tie. As for the league, we are in the mix, no doubt about it. Win our game in hand and it’s all to play for.
-
Hearts are dropping more points in last 10 games than the other three, for that reason I don't think they will win the league.
-
I don't think this can be right. If we win the game in hand v Dundee we go seven points behind Hearts. Beat them twice takes us to one behind. If they win all their other games and we win all our other games, they beat us by one point (my calculations may also be wrong) Crazy to think we could win the next 12 games, having lost only 3 games the ENTIRE season and still not win the league. It will not work out like this of course. Hearts will not win all their other games. 😛
-
so all we need to do is win 12 games on the trot ??? Home and hosed😁
-
Ok so I’ve had a quick - we’ll not really that quick by the time I’d finished - look at this to see what could happen, firstly up to the split, Celtic win all their games apart from us - 72pts Hearts win all their games apart from us - 69pts we win all our games - 68pts Rangers win all their games apart from the Celtic game - 67pts Post split: we win all our games - max 83pts Celtic win only 3 games and lose to us and any other team - max 81pts Hearts win all their games apart from against us - max 81pts Rangers win all of their games apart from against us - max 79pts Obviously there are multiple outcomes of which this is only one but if you’re a dreamer, dream on Note: disclaimer my maths ain’t all that great at times and this could be a load of 🐂 💩

I'm nearly 60 and able to attend my first home game of the season. My goodness, to see a big crowd at Fir Park on a Feb Sunday to Stand Up And Sing For The Motherwell. Here's the thing: top 6 has never entered my mind. I'm looking up, not down. Let the Glasgow media deflect & defer to the ugly sisters. There's only one team playing football here. We play on, I summon the spirit of 32, 52 and 91.

This season is but a ladder to be climbed! 😉

Because like the Manager I take one target at a time Target 1. Avoid relegation .. tick Target 2. Top 6 ......... to be determined Target 3. 4th place and European football ....to be determined Target 4. 2nd place and Champions League football ... to be determined Target 5. Win the League .... to be determined Target 6 Win the Scottish Cup... to be determined

I don't think we'll be winning the league, but it's been such a crazy season, the fact that there's still a slim chance we could just adds to the entertainment. If we win our game in hand, we'll be 5 points off second. That's certainly a target we can shoot at, and then see what happens.
-
Forget the top 6, that’s a given. We need to be thinking of winning the league. Michael Stewart has given us his endorsement as league winners…… why can some gadgie from Edinburgh think this whilst our fans don’t. ok a wee but tongue in cheek …. but why the fk not….. I believe!!!
-
Yes, we would be on 50, best they could get is 49
-
I might be wrong but if Dundee Utd and Aberdeen lose next Saturday and we beat St Mirren I think top 6 is secured.

https://www.oldfootballprogrammes.co.uk/motherwell-fc-football-programmes edit - sorry my bad it was a programme for Fir Park. I usually use the above to find old matchday programmes.

I think we win this one. Aberdeen pressed us really hard today and we got sucked into attacking the space in front of us leaving us wide open at the back. Jens wont allow that to happen again, so I expect us to be more disciplined defensively and restrict their chances. It will make it a tighter game, but I think we have the quality to get the goal we need. 1-0 Motherwell.
-
McGinn was imperious today, however, I went for Oscar Priestman. He was absolutely everywhere and always available to take the ball. Took so much pressure off his team mates given how hard Aberdeen tried to press us. Outstanding performance.
-
Should have been two or three up at half time. Still, will take 2-0 and a good feeling putting a team like Aberdeen away while knowing we can play better.
-
Thought our offensive performance was pretty good today (finishing aside) and it was certainly another entertaining game. If I have one complaint, it was that we were a bit gung ho at times and left ourselves open to the counter attack way too often. At one point we had 5 guys in the Aberdeen box and 50 yards between them and our back four with only two Aberdeen players in the space in between! I think that made life a little bit more uncomfortable defensively than it needed to be. I get the teams enthusiasm for getting forward and scoring goals, but our clean sheets have been built on structured possession and that today was back to the Tynecastle 3-3 madness. Overall, still a great 3 points and Im sure Jens will have things tightened up for Wednesday so we dont conceed so much possession/chances. Only 7 points off top place if we win our game in hand. Its still all to play for.....
-
We will be tired but they will be the same, hopefully a victory and quarter final to look forward to
-
Should have been out of sight half time but poor misses from said and Maswanhise, went back 4 months as ward went back to old habits but we survived. 3pts which is main thing so happy days
-
The defenders grabbed an arm each with Said! Couldbt believe they didnt get carded. Dickinson is no Bargain. But he is a bit of a Hunt!

I am finding it interesting just how quickly I am becoming greedy for success At 1-0 HT today, I was dissatisfied that it was not a more comfortable 2-0, 3-0 so that we could start resting players for midweek. As the weeks pass, 4th place is becoming slightly mundane with the dream of top three within touching distance. I suppose it is that kind of inability to be truly satisfied that took man to the moon. I fear that I am developing the mentality of an OF fan. A severe dose of entitlement. They must have medicine for that type of horrendous affliction? It really is dreamland at the moment.

A strange game that could have ended 7-3 or thereabouts to us. We deserved to win but made it awfully hard for ourselves. We should have had the game sewn up by half time were it not for some incredible misses. Aberdeen weren't bad themselves and could have scored 2 or 3 were it not for some bad luck striking woodwork etc. Not our best performance it has to be said. A Jordan McGhee assisted OG saved some last minute nail biting. We looked a bit jaded and defensively weren't as secure as normal, although we achieved another incredible clean sheet. Maybe we missed Fadinger's presnce in the middle? Like Rangers before them, Aberdeen were cynical, picking up 6 yellow cards which should have been even more. Perahps a back handed compliment to us. Quite why 2 defenders weren't yellow carded for blatantly hauling down Said is beyond me. Someone was also very very fortunate not to be red carded for a deliberate elbow on Paul McGinn. David Dickionson was in charge and he let his assistants know it. Still another win and clean sheet. Top six is becoming increasingly likely. Happy days indeed.
