Longelo one the guy behind him is offside and tries to play the ball.
-
Couldn't see past O'Donnell, seemed to be everywhere last night, unlucky not to score and think the goal saving block early on might be even better than Johnny K's in the first home game against Hibs . Thought Gordon done really well and Watt was the pick of midfield.
-
Very likely. I don't know. Widespread talk on the terracings last night.
-
If you watch it back the Hearts fans barely even claim for the Pen.
-
I thought we weren't at our best but definitely deserved a point, great crowd and atmosphere. On the penalty claims I think we were lucky to get away with the Longelo one but Kyziridis takes a dive when he can easily take a touch on the ball instead. The rolling about obviously just to make sure VAR take a look. For ours on Maswanhise it would have been soft but looks like there was slight contact from both Hearts players. Hopefully get a win on Wednesday to put 4th beyond doubt.

All 3 games will directly impact one another. Quite exciting.
-
We’ll probably see a back four of Longelo, SOD, Gordon, and Sparrow or Koutroumbis for this one. What’s up with McGinn and McGhee?
-
Very likely, we'll have to do without Welsh, McGhee and McGinn for this one. McGhee and McGinn will also miss the Hibs game.

Yes and if that pen had been given, so should Maswanhise's, since there was contact on his shin, though not much. We also had a claim for a hand ball from Watt's shot, though I can't understand why Longelo's arm ball in the first half wan't looked at by VAR (or spotted by the linesman and referee). Overall I think a draw was fair but Treacle Tan Man is rather annoying with his fake outrage. "If they overturn, there can be no guesswork, why is that such a difficult notion 🤷♂️ well done to mclean for sticking, would have been easy to cave in there. " Spot-on, mfc88.

We could really do with Fadinger and McGinn for this one. Celtic must win, but that just makes it all the more interesting a game, because we all know that Motherwell won't be lying down to anyone. I'd love the 3 points to go our way, but I reckon that it'll be a score draw. Another action packed and enthralling night in store at Fir Park.
-
Not many that hit their previous heights, but SODs put in a shift worthy of my vote.
-
Gordon for coming in from the cold and doing really well.
-
Not all contact in football is a foul though. Kyziridis clearly threw himself to the ground and McInnes is an odious prick. The ref got that one right and clearly thought he went down too easily, so disagreed with VAR.
-
I did think they should have had that penalty. Looking at it again I thought Maswanhise looked so guilty, it wasn’t intentional but he did stand on his foot and there was a foul. Imo…. I’d have been wanting it. I did also feel we had a legitimate one too when Watts shot was blocked by a hand. That ball was fizzing towards the goal and the hearts player’s hand was not in a natural position. I’ve seen these given plenty of times this season.

Thoroughly enjoyed that game last night and, all things considered, a point feels like a decent result. I’ve given Gordon stick before so it’s only fair I give him some praise after that performance. I thought he showed up really well and has clearly been listening to the coaching. He looked a much improved footballer last night, so credit where it’s due. He should be pleased with his efforts.
-
Went for SODs, thought he was brilliant. At the end of the match the goaline clearance seemed so long ago i had almost forgotten about it (somehow), but what a moment in the game that was.
-
Hearts play Falkirk the same night so this could be one for the ages.
-
I can't understand the viewpoint either. Unless there is other angles I've not seen. But from the VAR replays on sportscene what can really be concluded? Does he trip him? Might do, but angle is head on so can't really tell. Does he stand on his foot? Might do, but camera is far away and grainy AF so can't really tell. All you can conclude is maswanhise steps across kyziridis and his legs vanish from beneath him when he easily could have stayed on his feet - exactly as it seemed in the moment. Granted the camera angle is shite and looks like its filmed on a nokia camera phone, but thats the poundshop VAR we pay for. If they overturn, there can be no guesswork, why is that such a difficult notion 🤷♂️ well done to mclean for sticking, would have been easy to cave in there.

Liam Gordon has had less than 10 minutes of league football since Christmas and I though he came in and did an excellent job.
-
Delighted to get a point - ever closer to cementing 4th. We played quite well first half. Massive credit to SODs for his goal line clearance and was great to get our noses in front. Our lack of squad depth is an ongoing challenge. I notice it more against the top teams who can bring on fresh legs and take control of the last 30 mins of games. Massive point in the scheme of things and I do enjoy the disruption we cause to the top 3.

As JBA said. Potential Penalty!
-
With no goalscorer tonight SOD's block on Shankland was the equivalent of a goal. He showed great energy to get up and down the park. He had one deft reverse pass back to Ward and but for an uncut toenail would have got the winning goal. Praise too to Gordon who didn't put a foot wrong after being on the sidelines for so long.

Surprised to hear Faddy say in his post-match comments on MurdochVision that Hearts should definitely have had a penalty in the Kyziridis incident. I can't see it clearly even on watching several replays. Obviously, Boyd agreed ("Derek will be raging", etc.) and made it worse by claiming the penalty in the previous game at Tynecastle was correctly given too. Maybe if K. hadn't rolled about so much it would have looked more convincing but I agree with JBA that it was surprising it wasn't given in the circs. I thought McInnes was going to have a cardiac arrest at one point.

I seen someone use the word ‘absorbing’ elsewhere and that perfectly describes last night for me. What a treat this season has been with the general quality and tempo of football, complemented by electric atmospheres. We may have been under par in possession last night and more broadly, getting a little unstuck with our no.9 options in the last two months, but we coped admirably well with a Hearts team that threw the kitchen sink at us. SoDs our motm by a distance and huge credit to Gordon for being so solid. It’s no coincidence though that we aren’t as effective on the ball with McGinn and Fadinger missing. One more memorable night at Fir Park required before we inevitably say farewell to key members of this very special group.
