  1. Past hour
  2. Talking about slowish stars to the league, Derby were 19th last season are sitting 20th this season with 2 losses and a draw. Johnston is a good player. If Derby County was the best option his agent could find for a move to England, he needs a new agent. As far as money goes, I hope he is on a good deal, but if the figures are to believed, he was on £7,900 a week in Austria, which would make him the 5th or 6th best paid player at Derby if they match it. Of course there are lots of good reasons to want to live and work closer to home, and it doesn't all need to be about the money. I just hope he gets game time.
  3. On the money he'll be getting he won't need to live in Derby itself. Plenty of nice spots in the Dales within a half hour drive, or Mickleover on the outskirts where some of the other players seem to live.
  4. He is leaving a Club that has crashed out of the Champions League and has had a slowish start to the League. And their usual rivals have strengthened. Austria is hardly a top European league either. Maybe SG were looking to cash in on Max and we also don't know if any of those Clubs reportedly watching him put in a meaningful offer. Did he have as many options as we think? I tend to think if he had had the option of Italy etc then that is where he would have gone. Was he missing family and friends? If he does well at Derby it could be a stepping stone to the Premier League which may be how he sees it. Whatever, he and his advisors have made good decisions career wise so far. Joining us at about age 12, moving on from us after a good half season despite then having to sit on the bench for a long spell. Bank balance boosted. Now with around 50 games for SG he is cashing in again. Still young so plenty of years to move up if he performs. There is a pattern there. In truth I am not so convinced by Max Johnstone as I am by the likes of Lennon Miller, or even Bowie at Hibs. Played very few games for us.....although he did well and earned lots of praise... after having done ok and no more whilst out on Loan. I wish him well but I think he still has a bit to prove. Cannot blame him for looking after the financial side at this stage in his career.
  5. Have you been to Derby? Jeezus, it’s like a big Airdrie. As it was mentioned above I do hope he’s got a relegation clause in his contract or he could be heading in the same direction as Turnbull.
  6. Today
  7. Setting an alarm for 6 tonight. The phone ins gona be solid gold 😂
  8. Always possible he's just discovered he doesn't enjoy living and playing abroad. If so, no point making himself miserable for another couple of years when he can make the same (or better) money closer to home.
  9. That's it in one word, back in the UK, with no doubt a large increase in his weekly wage, aye a tough decision.
  10. ...add to that we will be playing against a tried and trusted 30% possession game plan Will be tough breaking down that however if last season's St Johnstone can then hopefully JBA's mini Barcelona can
  11. Yep, most peculiar - from Champion's League to League One in a season. Hope he's got a relegation clause in his contract.
  12. I can’t get my head around the max johnston signing at derby? Absolutely bizarre, on paper they seem to be a car crash of a club. The boy has been brilliant at sturm graz with a lot of teams watching him. Just screams of wrong move.
  13. Window used to close at 11pm, but the leagues agreed to close at 7pm this time
  14. The record posted yesterday that the window closes at 11pm. Wouldn't be surprised if they were wrong since their idea of journalism is guessing and searching forums, but finding definitive info on the correct time is proving difficult. Unless we don't sign a CB in the next few days, the only activity I see happening on deadline day is outgoings.
  15. Yesterday
  16. The lower league clubs can bring in loans after the window closes, but not the Premiership.
  17. Thought it was only free agents and yes, from what I’ve seen it shuts at 7pm on Monday.
  18. We can bring loans in after the window shuts I think. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong
  19. The window in England shuts at 19:00. I read that this year we're also closing at the same time. From an article in the Scotsman: "The Scottish Premiership transfer window will officially close on Monday 1 September, at the earlier time of 7pm. This is slightly earlier than the last few windows and is aligned with many of the top European leagues." https://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/scottish-premiership/latest-premiership-news/when-does-the-scottish-transfer-window-close-how-late-can-celtic-rangers-and-rivals-make-transfers-5256299
  20. The Grimsby result was also highly entertaining. Amaluzor must be disappointed he didn't get a piece of that.
  21. Definitely a missed opportunity. Just like Tynecastle last Saturday. As I said the other week, Rangers are rank rotten and will drop plenty of points this season.
  22. Im embarrassed we only managed a draw against them 😜
  23. If we were as good as Club Brugge, maybe. I don't expect us to hit that level for another week or two.
