I can't work out how the average attendance would be the highest as we crap that year. We finished 7th a year later we were 4th.
- Today
-
I would bring Fadinger in for Slatts. Slatts was burst yesterday and I am surprised he got full 90 mins
-
Went for McGinn. Has been a great servant for the club and yesterday was a really good performance from him when we were under pressure at the back in spells.
-
You do realise that discusding scenarios after 26 games where we could still win the league is not normal behaviour for a motherwell forum, none of us have any experience of such things, well at least while we are sober and awake, so its not surprising your maths is flawed.
-
I think it'll be a close game on Wednesday, possibly going to 120 minutes or even penalties. There will be no love lost between the players given Aberdeen's cynical approach yesterday and the ref will be need to be strong and consistent from kick off to ensure a fair contest. I doubt if we'll change our game plan much but it will be fine tuned in the light of lessons learned. JBA should find it a bit easier, as he'll now have seen Aberdeen's various newbies in action. I wonder if we'll continue with our long ball experiment. Not sure if it worked yesterday - the idea was good but the execution not always great. Will our tank be running on fumes? There will be some squad rotation in that Welsh will sit this one out and Fadinger will come back in. SODs may also come back in. Possibly one or two other tweaks.

Just how it often goes with football. Double headers like this throw up different winners* and especially when one of them is a cup tie. Plus I never, ever trust Motherwell when it comes to cup games. * I am aware that we beat Aberdeen in the League Cup and then in the league back to back earlier in the season, but I don’t see us doing the ‘double-double’ over them.

He's fine, a well win prediction would have concerned me again 🤣🤣
-
Having seen both teams yesterday, what is your logic for that?
-
We’re not winning this I’m afraid. Just can’t see it. Either a narrow loss in 90 or ET or a penalty shootout loss. Whatever happens we won’t be travelling to the Kingdom of Fife on 7th March.
-
Yep, suspensions are competition specific.
-
Is Fadinger able to Play this game?
- Yesterday
-
2/6 tae get in started following MOTM Aberdeen 15-Feb-2026
-
Thought McGinn was solid today, Sparrow and Longelo had good games.
-
Correct, the way I’ve written it is wrong, when calculating it I had Rangers winning all their post split games apart from us so Hearts drop 6 points post split which I forgot to add in and also only gave them 9pts to the split instead of 12 which made my post split figures add up - Edit required
-
Fadinger will be a contender for player of the season. Slattery probably won't make it into the top 3 midfielders of the season which shows the high standards in the middle of the park.
-
We missed Fadinger today. That’s the first time in a while a team has had a good bit of joy in the midfield against us. positives were Longelo looking really positive going forward and also our subs looked excellent, they combined really well to help us over the line Going to be tough in Pittodrie but I think today will give the team lots of confidence going into the cup tie. As for the league, we are in the mix, no doubt about it. Win our game in hand and it’s all to play for.
-
Hearts are dropping more points in last 10 games than the other three, for that reason I don't think they will win the league.
-
I don't think this can be right. If we win the game in hand v Dundee we go seven points behind Hearts. Beat them twice takes us to one behind. If they win all their other games and we win all our other games, they beat us by one point (my calculations may also be wrong) Crazy to think we could win the next 12 games, having lost only 3 games the ENTIRE season and still not win the league. It will not work out like this of course. Hearts will not win all their other games. 😛
-
so all we need to do is win 12 games on the trot ??? Home and hosed😁
-
Ok so I’ve had a quick - we’ll not really that quick by the time I’d finished - look at this to see what could happen, firstly up to the split, Celtic win all their games apart from us - 72pts Hearts win all their games apart us - 72pts we win all our games - 68pts Rangers win all their games apart from the Celtic game - 67pts Post split: we win all our games - max 83pts Celtic win only 3 games and lose to us and any other team - max 81pts Hearts win all their games apart from against Rangers and us - max 81pts Rangers win all of their games apart from against us - max 79pts Obviously there are multiple outcomes of which this is only one but if you’re a dreamer, dream on Note: disclaimer my maths ain’t all that great at times and this could be a load of 🐂 💩

I'm nearly 60 and able to attend my first home game of the season. My goodness, to see a big crowd at Fir Park on a Feb Sunday to Stand Up And Sing For The Motherwell. Here's the thing: top 6 has never entered my mind. I'm looking up, not down. Let the Glasgow media deflect & defer to the ugly sisters. There's only one team playing football here. We play on, I summon the spirit of 32, 52 and 91.

This season is but a ladder to be climbed! 😉
