  1. Past hour
  2. Scales is a special case , the plastics think hes the best central defender in the world , must be because hes Irish, thick cunts.
  3. Jba and our recruitment look at database stats. Must show decent stats when playing.
  4. I'd prefer a permanent move over a loan - not a fan of loans from clubs in the same division. I have no idea how good he is, but JBA is looking for a player that can fit into his system better than our current central defenders. You can argue whether that makes them a better player, or just a better fit.
  5. Beeb reporting it is a permanent move not a loan? Mind you it is the Beeb we are taking about
  6. Dont know much about him but plus point Welsh is 6ft 3 needing a wee bit of height at the back but i must admit still dont think its enough cover at the back. Hopefully we get a couple in and its been a good transfer window for us.
  7. I'd far rather not have a celtic player in our team...it gives us someone to boo I suppose
  8. I don't think he could cover at left back looking at where he's played before. Maybe we are getting another l back in. Still time.
  9. I take your point but if someone was to ask me about Nicholson or various others we've had at Fir Park my first instinctive answer would be 'injury prone'. Sometimes it's just that your instinctive answer is right. As in Louis Moult or Rolando Aarons. Sometimes not. As is pointed out in the case of Chris Porter as weeyin pointed out... Just worthwhile having a range of opinions. I'll confess I don't know if he can fill in at left back and with Wilson out on loan, I kind of assumed we'd sign a defender that could play left centre back and also cover Longelo at left back...
  10. Today
  11. That's good to know. Just think Murray and Danda have always been good. Suppose we may cause them problems too. Maybe we can get a draw
  12. An upgrade would be a stretch methinks even on Balmer. I’m against loaning from another in the same league generally, we’d lose the player for 3 possibly 4 games as it stands.
  13. They have lost a lot of their better players from last season and Steven Pressley is their manager, he played a 5-4-1 formation on Sunday against Dundee unt and still shipped 2 goals, we will beat them.
  14. Just saw on twitter that the deal is almost done. Season long loan.
  15. Same when we signed Chris Porter I seem to remember. High risk because of his dodgy knee.
  16. As well made pointed out on stats and records, injury's have been short term. I think we should look at stats and records rather than one persons view or opinion.
  17. Remember when we signed Craig Patterson I was told he was no use to us because he was always injured....
  18. I texted a mate of mine who has a season ticket at Parkhead when I saw us linked with him. His short response was "Sick note. Never seen him complete 90 minutes". Obviously an exaggeration but if his first thought is not about his ability but his injury track record, it does suggest it's an issue...
  19. I don't see us looking for a keeper. If Ward is dropped Ox will be in goals
  20. If he's better than what we have then bring him in. Loan deal so no risk. At this point in the transfer window it doesnt seem as bad an option as sticking with what we have. Even if this is just a boost in numbers/options
  21. This ain't the same Dundee as last season. They have lost alot of good players and are poorer. Like every game it won't be easy, but Dundee being at home, might mean they are more open. Cut out the stupid mistakes and we can win.
  22. You think our fans would have learned by now not to judge any signing based on performances for previous clubs. We've seen often enough previous form accounts for fuck all with our signings. If he signs it's a signing we need and I welcome him and reserve judgement until I've seen him a few times. Christ Davie Cooper was playing for Rangers reserves when we signed him.
  23. That's because the POD has been my viewpoint of choice for the last 40 years, but if the other 3 stands are just as bad then the club has a seriously issue with whoever does its cleaning.
  24. Ain't it funny. Cries of get a cb in and when we apparently do, it's cries of not him! Perhaps our first choices failed to materialise. Is he better than Balmer? He probably is. He is still young enough to develop and I am sure will be fine. Only downside is if he become a fixture in the defence, that defence will need to change against Celtic.
  25. Just been on wiki... I know, I know you can't always trust it but surely he has played more than 72 games in 6 years.... It reports 42 for Celtic between 2019 and now 19/20 played 15 for Morton And 17 for Mechelen last season. He signed a 4 year contract in 2023. He seems the type of player that is happy to sit and take a wage or is seriously injury prone which is why we are attracted to him. His injury history.. In July this year he had shoulder trouble with a potential need for surgery August 2023 ankle ligament injury 8 weeks out and day after he signed new deal Even with the few knocks prior to that nothing adds up to a longer layoff than 8 weeks (info collated from a couple of different websites)
  26. Contracted with Celtic until 2027 and reportedly on £8k a week. Doubt we would match that and the player would be crazy to give up a years salary at that level to join us permanently at the end of this season. I'm guessing Celtic hoping he does well with us this season so that they can sell him elsewhere for decent money at season end. They are keen to move him on but nobody is willing to meet the fee demanded. Scared Mechelen off.....twice. Yet another example of Celtic signing players on daft wages and then finding they cannot hold down a first team place or be moved on. Trusty on £30k pw, Engels 15k, Yang £10k as other out of favour players with years to run on contracts. Hilarious how poor their transfer dealings have been. Everyone is not a Virgil VD it appears. I would rather we looked elsewhere for a player on a permanent basis but it could be we are struggling to secure anyone Askou regards as suitable. Still time but this is might be the only upgrade we can achieve. I hope not, but I think Welsh might improve us. On that basis I can live with him joining us.
