  1. Past hour
  2. 60/40 for me so far. I’ve mostly liked what I’ve seen in that we have shown that we are capable of playing some really attractive football, something we haven’t seen for years and that is very refreshing. The flip side of that though is that we haven’t yet shown that we are capable of actually winning football matches and until we break that duck it’s a bit in vain. The last two fixtures have been maximum points thrown away, mostly because of bad goalkeeping but also because of poor game management and a lack of bite up front. And looking at the upcoming run of fixtures it is difficult to see where a win will come from, though I do have a hunch that we will finally get it when we play Aberdeen at home at the end of next month, after they have knocked us out of the league cup the week before.
  3. A Killie fan phoned sportsound phone in last night and said Motherwell and Kilmarnock have both had 4 draws to start the season and he knows what kind of draws he'd prefer to watch and its Motherwells. 😂
  4. I watched it from the POD and never got any impression of a nudge, neither did the referee, lino's or the VAR team who no doubt had close up views, freeze frame etc. The Kille fans in the south stand had the best view, so maybe you were sitting with them. Nobody is making anything up, the only Motherwell player who seemed bothered was ward when he realised he'd made an arse of it so no fantasy.
  5. Get what you're saying and maybe ox should come back but he had a few errors in him too...word for sod too, I've been a critic but thought he's been pretty decent past few games.
  6. Hendry has played less than 30 mins since he arrived at the club, and you are not impressed, aye OK then 🤦‍♂️
  7. I heard this morning he might be out for a few weeks, not sure what the issue is but it’s disappointing. a centre half and centre forward is required. I actually felt AP did better yesterday and was decent in the 2nd half in particular. In the cameos Hendry has made I have seen nothing so far other than him throwing his arms about in the air when players aren’t passing to him. I’d accept that if he was in good positions but he’s stood static next to defenders,. He also seems to have a poor touch and can’t hold the ball up and is unaware of players in better positions. I’ve not been impressed.

  9. This is what I find really strange at times about the Motherwell support. Where as most supporters tend to be biased in favour of their own team, particularly regarding refereeing decisions, we seem to find weird and wonderful ways to argue against our own team If you want to say that Ward could have done better, that's fine or that it was not a foul, fine, or that he was ahead of the ball, fine, or that he jumped early, fine. To say that there was no contact whatsoever however is made up fantasy. Ward gets a nudge in the lower back by the forearm of the incoming Killie attacker. That is what is clear from the Sportscene highlights. Why make things up just to argue against the team you support?
  10. I'm enjoying the new brand of football too; the best I've seen in years and I'm not Generation X or even W. I'm also on board with the Board's direction of travel on managerial appointments and JBA's philosophy. No manager will achieve 100% success, be it in terms of results or transfer dealings; nothing like it in fact. However for some, maybe even many, fans, its important that we convert good football and high possession percentages into actual goals and stop conceding soft goals. As far as JBA is concerned I fully back him and his methods. At some point though he's going to have to prove he can do that. So, there is a an element of uncertainty as to how successful he'll be. Time will tell.
  11. He was out of team because he is rubbish and a wage stealer. Calm doon..just teasing 🤣🤣🤣
  12. Longelo for me, he was excellent and another great goal as a bonus. Special mention for O'Donnell I thought he had a great game as well.
  13. The Sportscene highlights were pretty clear no contact whatsoever, for me he jumped to early and ended up slightly ahead of the ball, but that said it was a simple catch and he made an arse of it.
  14. Would be sad to see Slattery go as we are just getting to see his full potential in a team that plays football. That said, we are a selling club so if the offer is a good one, we cant really afford to turn it down. Hoping it is just a minor injury and not a cover story for a sale, but if we are moving him on lets hope its a 7 figure fee. We might end up being busier in the next 24 hours than I thought!
  15. 100% behind JBA. The style of football is a joy to watch. For any doubters, last season our first home game vs Killie (under kettlewell) was also a draw... irrespective of how it was achieved, which draw would you rather watch us play out? It's a no brainer man. Room for improvement? Absolutely, but it's still early days. Play like we did and we win games like yesterday more often than not.
  16. I don't see the need for a new goalkeeper either tbh
  17. What was he supposed to say..... that's an easy catch to make my granny could have caught it , that's the second time in a week we've lost points cause of him .No protect the player as all managers do. Fair enough but he has to be dropped for next game or more points will be chucked away. Pun intended.
  18. My issue was it was clear he was never in charge of that cross, he was out of position when it got whipped in and he was aware there were Killie players behind him….. why in that situation did he not either punch or tip it over for a corner? He tried to catch it which was really bad decision making. i think Ward could be a decent back up keeper but we need Oxborough back and I think JBA will have him back in the next game. It’ll be a good judge for us to see if he is a strong manager or not.
  19. We might well not get them, but they are certainly required. Our ability to identify and sign them will be a huge factor in shaping our season. A few calls after yesterday for a new keeper as well but I'd stick with the Ox for the time being.
  20. I thought that there was contact but Ward should be stronger in situations like that. Definitely seen freekicks given, though.
  21. Other people have said he was fouled.
  22. I have just watched the highlights and Ward definitely gets nudged in the back. The Killie attacker is actually very cute about it making no attempt to play the ball. He just pushes with his arm into Wards lower back to unbalance Ward and push him underneath the flight of the ball It would have been a soft free kick but Butland got a free kick for similar contact against Tony Watt last season. I would go as far as to say that if that had happened to Jack Butland yesterday going into the last 10 minutes with Rangers defending a lead , it would have been given as a foul. Ward should still have done better but it is not as black and white as it maybe first appears. More generally on the game, the support were crying out last season for a better style of football that was attractive to watch. We now have it. Happy days.
  23. We're a lot further along the line than I thought we would be,we have a manager that's only just in the door that inherited a shambolic mish mash of a squad, some of the players we have brought in are absolute quality, fadinger and just to name a few, were playing some of the best football any of us have seen for a long time.granted the last couple of weeks have been frustrating but there's an enjoyment and excitement around the club again which has been missing for too long.this team is only missing 2 or 3 players and we will really kick on,we have made great strides in a short space of time already.
  24. Personally I would be very surprised if we get three new players in the door tomorrow
  25. Just a text from someone who said JBA said that Slats had a knock and they had heard that it was possibly McGhee who had the long term injury
  26. Where did you hear or see this? A lot of confusion about his unavailability it would seem. I heard a rumour in the POD yesterday that he'd be out for a good number of weeks.
