  1. Past hour
  2. Totally agree. As I’ve said all along, it’s the idiots operating VAR, not the technology itself. Rangers and Celtic have benefited from this level of incompetence and cheating for decades, VAR or no VAR, while the rest of the league suffers. The only real solution is to bring in officials untainted by the sectarian nonsense that infects the Scottish game. It’ll never happen because the SFA is a shambles, but we should return to the 2010 strike model and hire neutral, top-tier officials from Europe.
  3. Today
  4. Over the decades, I've seen both halves of the gruesome twosome benefit consistently from poor officiating. No difference whatsoever between them. There's a number of reasons for that, all of which have been covered here. VAR is not at fault; its the poor officiating behind it. That won't change
  5. Agree with this. No conspiracy but certainly incompetence is an issue with referees and VAR officials. We recall examples of when Motherwell were wronged, but speaking to fans of other Clubs they can easily trot out numerous examples involving their own team. No doubt there is a subconscious fear of calling it wrong and the subsequent media reaction. That does play a part. More so if the OF are disadvantaged. But all teams suffer, including Rangers at times. Maybe just less so. The fact they were denied a Cup Final win by poor officials is a recent example. Even Collum acknowledged that error. Or does pointing out that fact also make me a closet Rangers fan? Or a Liv fan for pointing out how harshly they have been treated all season? Or a Dundee Utd fan if I sometimes agree with Goodwin? Whilst Collum is in charge and there is no accountability nothing will change. VAR or no VAR. Sadly it is something we as fans can do nothing about.
  6. Just watched " pen" , words fail me.
  7. Calling it a conspiracy is just an easy way to avoid the bigger picture. I’m not saying “Rangers get everything”, it’s about patterns and who benefits over a season in terms of big decisions. If you’re focused on individual incidents, we’re simply looking at this differently.
  8. Not seen celtic pen v livi but apparently it's a shocker
  9. I'm with you, I thought at time pen, but after seeing it again not as convinced but it sure as hell would've been given up other end.
  10. Celtic get as many dodgy decisions if not more but not as much made of it as all the refs are Masons apparently and they have been on the wrong end of decisions for years . All that said Rangers do not bad as well. There will be a dodgy decision on Tuesday, not the most earth shattering prediction , just hope it doesn't affect the score v them
  11. I think a contributing factor has been the reduced time the squads have had to train together (thanks to FIFA agreeing to release players later than originally planned). Good for their parent clubs, not so good for their national teams.
  12. Not sure why any of this needs to be a conspiracy at all. 1. Our officials are poor and often get decisions abysmally wrong. 2. Big teams always get more decisions in their favour. Especially at home. Its a tale as old as time. 3. There will undoubtedly be unconcious bias with all officials. As human beings, we all have that. As for the penalty. Thought it was a stonewaller in real time. Less so now Ive seen it from the side view. Fernandez hangs his leg out and there is definite contact, so I think its still a pen, but it is of the softer variety. If thats a goalkeeper going to ground and not getting the ball and the attacking player takes the contact and goes down, its being given all day long and he is praised for being "clever". Its 100% given at the opposite end, or at least reviewed by VAR.
  13. Anyone watched Morocco? Asking for a friend! 😆😆😆
  14. Delighted enough to let him play tomorrow night? 😆😆😆
  15. Scott Burns tweeting that Welsh is being allowed to stay at Motherwell for rest of season and that they are delighted with his progress with us.
  16. I've watched a few games now and been a wee bit disappointed in the standards on display. I normally look forward to this tournament but it's been poor so far.
  17. The Swedish season has finished, so perhaps JBA might have an idea of a goalscorer from there who wouldn't cost anything.
  18. I thought around now. Last update I found was end of October , recovery going well and he was back in training following the quad injury. The issue could be lack of game time, loading etc to get him match fit could be tricky.
  19. Anyone know when Sule is scheduled to return from injury? I thought it was early January. I would like to see us strengthen but think we should be committing folk to further contracts. Then build again in the summer. Sign assets onto long term contracts. The ugly sisters and hearts are going to spend big money to outdo each other for the title. Think they said that with the LM money it was going to be a long term project.
  20. Yesterday
  21. Ward. Spilled a shot early on but outstanding from there on.
  22. The unconscious bias towards the Old Firm has been here for years. As Well fans we remember Derek Johnstone in the 70s semi, Craigan's disallowed goal for off side when a defender and the goalie were on the line. Refs are aware that if they give a wrong or dodgy decision against the Old Firm they will be slaughtered in the press and will suffer personal abuse. Remember Dallas getting his windows panned in. Now with VAR they can take time not only to decide if the decision is correct they also have time to weigh up the consequences of their decision. Less and less subjective decisions will go against the Old Firm. Factual ones like offside will be harder for them to manipulate.
  23. One thing for certain if that had happened up the other end,you can be sure between the referee and var a penalty would have been giving.
  24. Reassuring to know that somebody is taking the level headed pragmatic approach. We may need your calming, unbiased voice of reason if Celtic get a dodgy last minute penalty on Tuesday night to win the game. 😉
  25. We already have strikers who can't score.
  26. Better on a plane back to Aus or another team i think 🤔
  27. Or another interpretation is that I don’t buy into half baked conspiracy theories and aren’t seeing things through a cliched “Rangers get everything” set of tinted specs? 🤷‍♂️
  28. If this is reality then there must be two sets of officials who cover only one side of the arse cheeks each or all the officials are in league with each other to ensure only the OF get anything. There might have been a degree of this in the past but I doubt that it’s like that today. How does that theory stand up beside the other crazy decisions - if you want examples I will give you examples but I’m sure you know plenty yourself - given against us when playing other teams? Unfortunately it’s just piss poor officials, some possibly with personal allegiances, who cover each others ineptitude. I’ve said before the only way to get proper VAR in Scotland is to have VAR HQ sited in another country overseen by foreign officials assisted by ex players with no affiliation with any Scottish team.
