  1. Past hour
  2. The club has as much to offer JBA as he has to offer the club. I’d like to think he sees it that way too.
  3. Today
  4. I doubt they're too bothered about whether he comes back here on loan or not, given they've obviously still been paying a significant part of his wage. He was likely taken back to make a point, and playing him - as weeyin said - enforced that point. If they had a decent offer for him, from us or elsewhere, he wouldn't have got near the pitch.
  5. He isn't eligible as wasn't named in initial 25 man squad before league stage
  6. I hope Stephen and his agent are harassing Celtic to get him back here on loan. Benefits Welsh, (keeps him match fit and in the shop window) benefits Celtic (as in saving some wages + increasing his value) and benefits Motherwell. (Quality player in the squad for remainder of the season)
  7. Journo: How are Callum Hendry and Elliot Watt doing in their fitness battles? JBA: Well I think I described thoroughly last week where they were, and if you rewind a week and then go forward, then they are one week later.
  8. I think MON was going through the motions of playing the backup 11 to show the board he needed more signings.
  9. Hillarious response from JBA. “Concrete rumours and concrete speculation” 😂
  10. Still baffles me as to why Celtic played him in the cup game.
  11. Wonder what the thinking was playing him in the cup? Just to fill a shirt because they wanted to rest others higher up the pecking order? I know they won't care about how potentially impacts on us but if they are thinking there is a chance he will be loaned back surely they know it makes it a slightly less attractive option from our point of view.
  12. I can only think our team has brought more out of him than Celtic could manage.
  13. Bizzarre that Celtic dont apparently rate Welsh. His treatment will surely open eyes.
  14. Another really good press conference from Jens. He takes no nonsense from the journalists. Im sure someone more technie can post it up. Looks as if noone will leave, famous last words, and it push onwards and upwards to see what we can achieve. 1 center back, either Welsh back or A N other, plus an additional one perhaps. Would assume its a left back, but you never know.
  15. Agree, we know top quality will move on from us. All we can do is try have best contract conditions in place to hold them as long as possible but at same time guaranteeing that we are financially rewarded when they do leave.
  16. Welsh not even in the squad for Celtics game tonight.
  17. I think that's the most important thing. Like the players, he's very much an asset to the club. If he chooses, he will move on, nothing but our best can we do about that. The club just need to make sure he doesn't leave for nothing.
  18. I was thinking the same. Must be pretty short odds on a Kille red any match right now.
  19. I’m not sure what JBA’s career plan is but I think it might be more in the direction of managing in EPL or mainland Europe rather than either of old firm teams. Now would Celtic be a stepping stone to help him on that path or a diversion? I think it’s more impressive doing what he’s done with Motherwell than doing anything with either of the uglies. Another season or two doing the same or improving us would be very impressive indeed, making us the Scottish Bodo Glimt. The club may have to have faith and invest some money in order to maintain what we have going just now. Nothing crazy but perhaps more than planned. The increase in crowd sizes is something I’ve not seen in all my years of supporting Motherwell. Finishing higher up the league means more money. Advancing in Europe would be more money. All not guaranteed but very possible from what we have seen in a very short space of time. I’m willing to bet if we can keep this going for next season, the season ticket sales will be thru the roof
  20. Based on the article it at least looks like they won’t make any move till end of season amd our first task is to keep what we have during this window amd perhaps improve playing squad. we then face the same battle again when we get to the end of the season. I’m hoping that we will be featuring in Europe amd that the thought of how good can we do in Europe might be enough to keep JBA and the squad together for another season since we do have them Under contract. (Most of them I think)
  21. Presumably Mayo's straight red last week will rule him out from Saturday's clash?
  22. There is every chance he will be away in the summer. But the board have to at least try and keep the suitors at bay and try to tempt him to stay. It we would brilliant if he could steer us into Europe and still be here with the core of the team to have a good go at it. What more of a calling card could he sign for himself than taking a club like ours into the group stages? Given that the team is set up for playing in Europe it would be great to see. Even if he did decide to go, we would get a wee bit more compo if he is on a better contract.
  23. Thanks for that reply. Agree with iall your comments. Hopefully it's 2 years and extension offered. And if sustained success with s then much bigger clubs than old firm will be in contact.
  24. Win with a red card for Killie, they do love a red card down there
  25. Apparently there's a big ice hockey game on nearby at the same time so traffic is going to be even worse than normal so leave plenty of time if going up by car.
  26. There is nothing clear online. Best information I could find was that he had signed a 2 year deal with talks to be opened on extensions should he hit certain targets. But its all a bit woolly worded. We did have a policy of 1 year rolling contracts. No idea if that would still be the case, although from the above possibly not. Pretty sure the board will be aware of how well this is going though and an extension for the manager on improved terms would be a priority. Wether Jens would be minded to sign it or not is another matter. Depends how he views what he is building here and what his long term goals are. Ive no doubt he is incredibly ambitious, but he also has the Gothenberg experience and will understand how playing the longer game could be beneficial. If he did in fact turn down the Aberdeen job, it might be a sign that he is happy to wait for the right offer. Improving your terms while you do so would be a no brainer for him as long as he rrusts the club to do the right thing when the time comes.
  27. Any word on jba signings new contract with us yet? Or know length of contract he has? Agm is soon I think.
