  1. Past hour
  2. There are also the Cooperation Agreements this season, aimed at players aged 16 - 21, where they can be moved at will between loan club and parent club all season. Wilson is not part of those, but a couple of other youngsters are.
  3. Today
  4. Had a wee search and found this posted in reply to the same question re Loans. Ties in with what I understood to be the situation. The Partnership agreement with Stenny and Cowdenbeath regarding young Scottish players falls outside the normal Loan terms. Quote "Clubs can now only make loan deals during the two transfer windows between July/August and January and players can only be brought into clubs on either half season or full season loans. The changes mean that players can no longer be brought into clubs outside of the transfer windows on short-term deals with many clubs often bringing in players on a month`s loan during the season. The changes also mean that clubs cannot recall a player until the transfer window reopens, the only exception to this is with goalkeepers. Parent clubs can recall a goalkeeper with just 24-hours notice if they do not have two fit goalkeepers at their club. Clubs can still recall players to feature for their development squad during the loan period." So on that basis, Wilson returning before January is a non starter. I guess new rules were introduced to stop clubs abusing the system by swapping players back and forward, sometimes for a month or less at a time.
  5. He can only re-register with us in January, different for a goal keeper (in an emergency), different for Stenhousemuir.
  6. A goalkeeper under an emergency situation. Stricter rules for outfield players. My understanding anyway
  7. Sorry to say this but I don't care about Wilson right now - he's a talent but he's not good enough just now and all the talk about cover for Manny is premature in my view as he's not injured Wilson has had his chance and he's lost confidence and not ready just now
  8. I believe so. We recalled Matty.
  9. I'm not sure that's correct as I understand it a loan player can be recalled anytime the parent club deems it necessary, plus Wilson is already our player so we are not adding a player so no need to wait for a transfer window. It really depends on the fine print in the loan agreement and what both clubs have agreed on.
  10. They aren't great when you go and pick them up from Fir Park before the collection time to find out they've already been given to the SLO as happened to me the other week. This isn't a criticism of Motherwell. Its Hearts and Aberdeen that don't want to do a digital option for some reason
  11. Yeah I get that. But I either have to pay 2.50 to get them delivered or go to Fir Park to get them. I have disabilities and it's a struggle some days - I don't see why fans have to pay an extra 2.50 for postage just because some clubs can't give both options Btw. I get some older people might struggle but my mum is 76 and knows how to download a digital ticket - all I am saying is that there should be both options. It's off putting when clubs don't give fans the choice and they could do it easily in my view
  12. Yup, paper tickets also great souvenirs. I have my match day ticket from 91 Cup final (£7!!),
  13. Digital tickets are fine but many older fans still prefer a paper copy for various reasons.
  14. There is no need for paper tickets in this day and age surely -or if there is there should surely be a choice that you can get a paper or a digital ticket. Not offering a digital option is ridiculous in my view Fans have to pay to get tickets posted out or go to Fir Park to collect. A digital ticket makes much more sense
  15. I don't mind paper tickets too much, but I like to be able to choose my seat where possible.
  16. Wilson's loan only runs until January - although they are often extended.
  17. I think a return clause can be in any loan deal but that any return can only be made in a transfer window. So January is the earliest Wilson could be recalled. There can be an exemption for goalkeepers if SPFL authorise emergency cover. But that does not apply to outfield players. Scottish youngsters can now move back and forward as long as they are loaned to a lower league Club under the new Partnership scheme. Raith are not our 'partners' so that rules out that possibility.
  18. He did but went back to Millwall at end of season. Now back permanently
  19. Surley that's what training during the week is for.
  20. Since you mention money I came across some figures when I was trying to find out exactly what European success for us and others meant financially. Also worth noting that Uefa altered things to ensure Clubs do not incur a loss as I believe we did visiting Russia. Will not change folks view but it is a factor. Others may know differently but here is what I found. Our embarrassing exit to Sligo was horrific but we received £434k from Uefa for our 'efforts'. Maybe that helped to ease the pain, at Board level anyway. Reaching the Conference League Group stage guaranteed Hearts £2.6m before they kicked a ball. Surely reaching that stage is a target we should aspire to? The season Celtic had a decent run in the Champions League our payment as a result of their success totalled £1.6m. Almost 25% of our total Turnover that year. It used to be that the rewards for Scottish teams' success were shared with lower league Clubs who supported qualifying youth set ups. But now all the cash is shared between only those top division teams who meet the youth criteria. Like us. I understand some top tier clubs don't qualify. All the more for us! The dilemma for me is that enjoyable as it was watching Celtic and Rangers crash and burn in the qualifying round, it cost us dearly. Hibs, Hearts and Utd as well but to a lesser extent. I accept that success for those Clubs in Europe adds to their Bank Account but the impact on us is massive. Given the financial gap that will always exist, irrespective of who progresses in Europe, I believe Motherwell are in a more competitive position if all Scottish clubs progress as far as possible, or even better if we are one of those clubs.
  21. I won't disagree. Plus the fact it's paper tickets - someone can correct me if it has to be paper tickets for the cup games but it would drive you mad
  22. Their Chief Executive has lost the plot.
  23. Difficult one when you put it like that but I don't like our game being a laughing stock. Whatever we think money is the main factor nowadays and football especially in England bores me mow. Maybe if clubs had to play a certain number of home grown players , you could back them a bit more.Did feel a bit sorry for Hibs though but they lost some really soft goals late in game. I kind of wanted Celtic to do well up.until the final against Porto but the lack of Scottish flags , being diplomatic there, in Glasgow that night made me change my mind Rangers don't look close to doing anything so shouldn't be an issue
  24. I like Ox. He has made a few mistakes in the past, but he is a big unit that generally commands his box and very good shotstopper. The only thing Im unsure of is how good he is with the ball at his feet. His distribution was better than Kelly's, but thays a really low bar and what JBA wants from his keeper is way beyond that. Be interesting to see what happens.
  25. Tickets are on sale. However, no mention of how many we got and no map to select your seat, so pot luck if you are open to the elements or not. Really fancy the game, but not sure Im gonna pay £25 to drive all that way for a potential soaking!
