  1. Past hour
  2. Nothing's ever guaranteed, but we've got the team we all wanted for years - playing attractive football, winning games and willing to go toe to toe with everyone they face, including the uglies. If they're going up there believing they'll win, so am I.
  3. Today
  4. Let’s hope we are better at taking our chances tonight and can restore our ability to control possession. Aberdeen on Saturday were one of the few teams that have been able to have more possession than us in a game.
  5. I think JT is due to score a goal or two for us.
  6. A quality strike from RCC but since then I have not been overly impressed but maybe just needs a good run of games but no way can you keep just and said out team
  7. We haven’t actually won too many away games, although Aberdeen in the League Cup was one of them. Extra time looming I fear.
  8. The '91 team had some good players. But they didnt dominate and control games the way this one does. It also had an average mid table finish in the league. So no surprise none of us really saw us winning the cup that season until we beat Celtic in the semi final. Even then we were up against a decent Dundee United side that we were no better than 50/50 to beat. Im not saying we will definitely win tonight, beating Aberdeen away is always a tough task. But you have to look at the possibilities going forward if we do win, and the draw has absolutely opened up with the big two drawing each other.
  9. This for me is the best opportunity we have to go on and win a cup (I said the same about LC and we got pumped off St Mirren). Celtic and Rangers are both not as strong as they normally are and we have our best team since the McCall era. I think if we're being realistic our gaffer is gone next season as is a good few of our key players if we're going to win something in the near future you'd have to go all in on this season being it if it's not to be so be it but need to have a proper good go at it.
  10. I'd also add that never once during our 91 Cup success did I feel this was our "best chance ever". The narrow wins, replays and penalty shootouts backed up how fine the margins are.
  11. A few people trying to temper expectations which fully understand but I’m more in the β€œthis is our year” camp. We’ve shown that we have the beating of this Aberdeen team this season who have a lot of pressure on them from media and, I expect, fans tonight. No reason to think that our mindset will be any different from what JBA has instilled One may be enough but if we score twice we will definitely win and we absolutely have the personnel to score many more. COYW
  12. While we are playing well, I don't feel that being drawn away from home on a dodgy surface against the current holders who will be hell-bent on defending their trophy in front of their own fans constitutes a "great chance". We are playing well, and I think we have a good chance of winning, but I wouldn't be shocked if we lose. One bad decision, one piece of bad luck, and you can be out. It's certainly not Spartans at home. I don't have the fear though. It's amazing the progress we have made this year to get us in the mindset that we have a great chance, and if things go to plan, we should be in an equal or stronger position next season. That's the great thing about what has happened under JBA. It's not just about the performances, it's about the foundation that has been laid. We need to be sure we take advantage of it in future seasons too.
  13. Im with you on the league. Top 6 looks a stick on now, but there is still room for improvement in this squad, so if we dont make top 3 or 4 Id be disappointed, but still view it as a good season. Re the cup though, the chances of the uglies drawing each other before the semis and both Hearts and Hibs being out, doesnt come along too often, especially coinciding with us having a good team. So I think this IS about as good a chance of winning a cup as we are going to get. But much like the chance the League Cup afforded us, we still need to step up and do the business. Tonight is huge. Win and we have a winnable tie to get us back to Hampden. At that point all bets are off. Lose and we will be moping around wondering "what if" once more......
  14. Pretty much my view. We're still work in progress and far ahead of where I thought we'd be with JBA introducing a new system. There's still a few weaknesses for JBA or someone else to sort out. I'll be a bit down if we don't make the top 6 but thats becoming increasingly unlikely. I think we've got a better chance of winning a cup next season. Thats not to say that we shouldn't go all out for a win tonight. Aberdeen were kind enough to give us a few friendly warnings on Sunday; lets hope we learnt from them.
  15. That's it Grizzly. I think we sometimes focus too much on history and not the present. Just because we've bottled it in the past doesn't mean it'll keep on happening. You can't compare the mindset of the club today with the mindset of previous years. Different players different board different coaching staff and a more positive outlook from the fans (with the obvious exception of course although even he's mellowing).
  16. Nervous about tonight. I feel this is our best chance in ages to end almost 35 years of no trophy. Then I remember morton in 2024 and st johnstone last year. That was before JBA so hopefully we can get a great win tonight. COYW
  17. Been wondering that myself. I don't think I'd actually be that gutted if we were papped out tonight, assuming it's not a result of another St Mirren-esque performance or a ludicrous refereeing error. But some folk seem to be thinking if we don't win something with this team we never will, and hopefully things won't turn too negative on here if that happens as there will still be plenty to play for (and hopefully, wins and performances to enjoy).
  18. We’re winning this tonight. Maswanhise and Said to both play well and score a few between them. And McGinn to finish it with a set piece header.
  19. We have an exceptional team this year, but is it a cup team? Many excellent teams don't win cups and many bog standard teams win cups. You need a bit of good luck too and do we have that? Certainly we have the potential in spades but what concerns me are 2 factors: * Do we have the bottle? Some questions after the League Cup semi. * Will we be more clinical in front of goal? In our favour, we have a good record against Aberdeen this season; but they did seem a bit reinvigorated last Sunday. COYW.
  20. Only on the east coast, NRL is practically non existent in South and Western Australia. Netball and basketball probably have bigger attendances. Football is actually the biggest participant team sport in Western Australia.
  21. Looking at our form & team, considering one of the arse cheeks is going out in the next round& Hearts are already away, this game is massive. Whether MJC likes it or not, we are one of the best teams in the country. If we get through tonight we will rightly be installed as one of the favourites. There literally is no team in Scotland we should fear this season if we are on our game. The cup this year is such a huge opportunity! Dont blow it tonight motherwell!
  22. not at all related but the save 53 seconds in is unreal
  23. Yesterday
  24. Terrible, don't worry.......I'll bail you out 🀣🀣
  25. Thanks for letting us know β€˜cause I was stumped
  26. It’s just a better experience all round for everyone when the crowds are bigger, as in more Motherwell supporters.
  27. Game is on ESPN+ in the states for anyone without a stream.
