Yes I do think itβs been a bit one dimensional in that respect at one stage I wondered if we had another Gannon who only signed youngsters
-
Only got 20 minutes. Game was gone by then, so no real chance to impress.
-
We signed some decent players over the summer, but maybe a bit unbalanced in some respects e.g. age and lack of leadership. I'm all for signing "projects", but does anyone else think we've overdone that a bit? Typically they might take a year or two to come good. Can AJ get the best out of them?

And a bag of cans?
-
Came off bench and done ok. I thibk folk forget he's only 20. Needs time but I think could be really good
-
That aint happening pal and I am sure AJ can get things sorted
-
I wasn't at game Sunday. How did Kanga play? Lot of hope for him to do well after early promise.
-
This pretty much sums up much of our discussion and concerns on here over the past few days. A few have said that the type of football we witnessed was not a continuity style and that sums it up for me.
-
From about 13-25 mins. A good analysis of the current situation and Celtic debacle.
-
It may well be that Alfred is well aware of where the problems lay on Sunday and is just protecting the player (a little too late imho). If that is the case then I would expect to see something very different on Saturday. If we do, lesson learned, we can move on. If not and we get another insipid, passive performance with no press and no control of the football, then more questions will arise. You cant win every game. But here is a way to lose football matches, and going down swinging, playing your way on the front foot is more palatable than what we saw on Sunday.
-
Mmmmm. Who did he play on the right side again? π€π€π€
-
Graeme McGarry nails Sunday (12mins). Obviously, he doesnt have his coaching badges either, so he might not be seeing the big picture.
-
After our defeat to Celtic, AJ said βI think we struggled on our right side, in the low block and in the medium block, and in the high pressing, which is something we need to look at.β Translation We were pish all over the park!

Yes, that was a strange choice which has largely flown under the radar. It raised a few eyebrows around us at the time and it didn't work out well. It left Longelo somewhat exposed on the left, but unlike Sparrow he is at least a full back. I hope we're not going to go down the Craig Brown route of shoehorning square pegs into round holes and fielding our "best" 11 players irrespective of what positions they normally play in.
-
Jens' Death Stare was impressive, I must admit. Even those clueless "journalists" got the message. Ruthlessness is necessary in a manager, as are good man-management and tactical nous. I hope AJ turns out to have both.
-
I am as much for conjecture as the next guy. That's 95% of what football forums are all about. Tell me this thought, if ( and it is an if) we lose at the weekend to go 5 defeats in a row with a lacklustre performance will you know for a fact that it's not because of disquiet in the dressing room? This has all the hallmarks of a David/ Wellfan Rd 2. I better go put the kettle on just incase it turns into an all nighter! Utter nonsense. How dare thee!!
-
Correct fans wont know one way or another from a result this weekend if there is disquiet in the dressing room , all it will be is pure and utter guesswork.
-
Oh its very easy to say its utter nonsense because its not based on one scintilla of fact. .
-
If you have a team that was playing well a month ago and the performance drops off a cliff then players that are not motivated to play must be high up the list of possibilities. There were a few players that had there eye on a move in the summer and it did not work out . You don't need full scale mutiny for there to be disquiet. A lack of motivation or players that are simply not enjoying playing at the moment would fall into that category. Even just players that have lost confidence will lead to an unhappy dressing room. It is not by any means a certainty that this would be the case but to say utter nonsense is a bit extreme. There would have to be some reason for a performance that lacks energy, commitment purpose and in modern football an unhappy dressing room is always a possibility. Utter nonsense indeed. Huh!!!
-
Not sure what you're saying here. You need to expand your reasoning. Are you saying A) There is definitely no possibility of disquiet in the dressing room or B) If there is disquiet it won't be possible for fans to detect it?
-
Absolutely nothing that happens at the weekend will point to disquiet in the camp, what utter nonsense. What a defeat will point to is either 1. The manager go his tactics wrong or 2. The players might not be as good as some think or 3. Both of the above
-
I think there are two possibilities this weekend. If the team is pulling together and behind the manager I think we will win the game. I think we will have more to offer than Kilmarnock. If there is some disquiet in the camp I think it will be fairly obvious in the performance and it could well be the beginning of the end for AJ. A defeat with a poor performance would be difficult to recover from. Actually, I have thought of a third option. It could be a draw!!! I like to pin my colours to the mast!!!
