Both Maswanhise and Watt were offered to the club by their agents. Watt said as much in an interview a few months ago and Halliday said on his podcast Maswanhise had been offered to us by his agent on the Saturday the season started so we arranged a friendly with Everton on the Tuesday in which we lost 6-0 but he impressed and we signed him the next week. To give Daws his due however our recruitment has been very good this season in which he will have played a part so does deserve praise.
-
I feel the same he's a good player but there's parts to his game I look at and wonder how replicable his form will be. If we could get 5-6M for him I think that's probably his ceiling in terms of transfer value.

Now there is a phrase i haven't heard in a while!. Is very true though. When we were struggling and some of tge signings dubious it was Nick Daws fault. Now we are having success and he isn't mentioned. I would assume he spotted Maswanhise and Watt but not sure if he is involved with the Australian market
-
Sounds like he thought JT was Irish.
-
Every club is looking for a goalscorer, so any one that comes into that category and is still only 23 has got to be worth upwards of 10 million. Why should we always seem to sell ourselves short?
-
^This. You have to apportion some of the blame to the red top sports journos (term used loosely) who have managed to fill a million column inches with made up shite about the players the terrible twins are signing. What team is playing well ? Who is standing out for them ? Lets link them to both sides of the old firm and take a throw away line from a player on a podcast and call that 'official asking price revealed'. Both Celtic and Rangers, their fans and the journos who make a living writing crap made up stories to fill papers for a month of transfer window are all cunts. Imagine if we ended up playing one of them in a cup semi or final ? The headlines would be grade A nuclear waste. "Celtic/Rangers consider signing all Motherwell's players on PCA". I even had some inbred green and white pikey approach me in the street on Saturday (I had a Motherwell top on) shouting that 'That Mashoney boy hus just signed for us fur a mullyin pounds'.
-
Miller has already had more first team minutes than the vast majority of youngsters that the OF sign (and then loan out before the inevitable punting). It's rare to see a young Scottish player developing in either side. He did well to avoid them.
-
He’s been getting really good write ups and has started their past 3 games. Absolutely delighted for the lad….. who’d have thought a young guy would have needed a little bit of time to settle playing abroad?? Crazy eh!! last month we had Celtic and rangers fans saying he was rubbish and they dodged a bullet buying him. Give it a few months and it’ll be a “no brainer” for them to sign him. i sat in work yesterday and listened to 3 rangers fans tell me that £3m is a fair price for them to get Maswanhise and we should sell him and cash in??? Fk off and pay your face painter you inbred mongrels.
-
Hearts completely wasted him by playing him as a lone striker with little or no midfield support. He was never the most mobile and was like a fish out of water at Tynecastle.
-
If you had asked me a few months ago if he was worth it i would have said no. However, he's 23 & getting better & better. Potential suitors are speculating on a rising comodity. Unlike KVV or Higdon. If someone wants to eclipse the Miller fee, then its all good news for us & the player.
-
Yes. And it's up to the suitors to take that gamble. The great thing is, the club have no pressure to sell (at least this window). I'd expect him to move on in the summer however and I'd be hoping to recoup miller money or close to it.
-
John Sutton, another good example. Scoring regular for us but went to Hearts and didnt cut it there. Came back to us and started scoring regularly again. Definitely a lot depends on your team Mates and what style/tactics your team plays. Perhaps a similar situation for Watt, absolute standout player in our team but would he excel if he moved to Rangers? However, bottom line, individual will have much better take home pay after a transfer. Other consideration (or gamble) is wait longer to move amd make even more money after a transfer.
-
KVV and Higdon were top of goal scoring tables for us . When we sold them they both reverted to type pretty much immediately and never had seasons scoring like the ones they had with us. TJ is scoring all right but look at they way the rest of the team are playing to allow him the opportunity to score the goals. Is he really worth the millions being talked about after one really good season ?

It might be heresy, but I'm still not convinced JT is that good. He's obviously having a fantastic season with us (as is the entire squad), but he still seems quite raw and drifts out of games for long periods of time. He could go on to much bigger and better things, or he could revert back to an 8 goals a season kind of player. It's a gamble for any team signing him, but I'm more than happy to keep him as long as he wants to stay.
-
If someone is offering 5m+ for JT, we're accepting it while trying our best to keep a straight face, and will change our phone number the second its signed. Every player at every club has a price, and if someone wants to pay the January premium, then it will happen. I don't think anyone will offer what it would take though. Has a buy and loan back deal actually happened? Or are they as made up as the player + cash deals that don't happen either.
-
If he keeps up this form his value is only going to increase & £6.5m in the summer will be reasonable to expect. Probably be a number of options available to the player to explore rather than telling him hes off to Turkey & thats it.
-
That make sense we've got the opportunity to finish the season really strong and potentially even win a cup.
-
3-1 win for Udinese. 70 odd minutes for Miller.
-
He got 77 mins before being subbed.
-
JBA seemed to be of the same opinion. I don't remember his exact wording, but the gist was the club wasn't going to repeat the mistake of letting players go towards the end of the window with no chance to recruit cover. If the 6.5 million and loan back is true, I'd bite your hand off for that one.
-
I think if we lose Maswanhise at this point in the window we've not left ourselves enough time to replace him I think if it was going to happen he'd of been gone before the Scottish Cup game so providing we don't get a ridiculous bid put in for him or he pushes for a move i think he'll be here to the end of the season.
-
To be honest, 6.5 and loan back would be very difficult to turn down. However let's hope none of our players going anywhere
-
As per usual there's been a couple more rumours regarding tawanda think it's all just talk but the one that caught my eye was that Turkish clubs are interested Trasbonzspor have the more concrete interest but would only offer 5 million The not so concrete one but the more interesting one was from galatasary for 6.5 and a loan back tik the end of the season
-
We had SOD and McGinn playing CB against Celtic the other week and that didn’t turn out to bad.
