Hard to believe it's that close - hadn't realised it was 13 goals after 9 games - amazing how the memory works. I think we went on to concede 4 goals in the following 19 games - now that would be a pattern worth pursing. 100% need to learn to shut up shop - step 1 be clear who you're back 4 should be. Step 2 - rest of team need to keep the ball and themselves moving

He was angry as we all were, we scored 2 well worked goals and lost 3 terrible goals, it wasnt even good build up play from killie.
-
Well Hearts got an absolute SPANKING!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
💯

Them shipping 7 goals today is promising. It’s the only positive I can think of so far. I’m not feeling any better from yesterday …. Utter disillusionment oozing from my pores
-
I'm not even close to fearing the worst at this point, but we do need to get the defence better organised. We have conceded 16 league goals this season, and 13 league goals at the same point last season. So there is some tightening up required, but as always in football, it's small margins. It was always a tall order to replace the Rolls Royce that is Welsh, but I still think the loss of Slattery is hurting us too as he was often the man to shut down the opposition in midfield before anything developed. We need someone else to step up and take all those yellow cards.

Knowing our luck the Hearts fans will demand a performance and we are the kind of charitable team that will donate them 3 points, don't have a ticket for this game yet and don't know if I can be arsed to try might just watch the game on the box instead, really hoping we can turn the corner but just don't see it yet
-
6-1 now a few mins into the 2nd half. Maybe Hearts defence is as bad as ours. MJC do you want to revise your prediction to 9-7 to them ?

Not sure if McGinn will help when he gets back or if he will be a season too far. I feel for SOD, There’s no reason we should be playing him at centre back. We need to start pairing 2 of the 3 centre backs we have available at the moment. . At right back we either play SOD or Johnny. As Soon as Oscar is ready we put him in beside Fadinger. I also think Thor deserves a chance to see if he can do anything up front. Longelo and JT booth need a good kick up the arse. our work rate on and off the ball needs to increase significantly. At the end of games last season, players looked like they had put all of their energy into the game, not so much this season. then of course, we have to cut out the stupid errors right now. While we have been struggling we would be in a better position had we not made so many individual errors which have all cost us points.
-
Hearts getting battered 4 nil by Celtic and it's not even half time. Maybe hope for us Sunday.
-
Sundays opponents currently getting their arses handed to them at Parkheed. 4-0 and it's no even half time yet.
-
It was a tongue in cheek comment to match the ridiculously disappointing situation we find ourselves in.

I think if the board doesn't press the button soon we are condeming ourselves even further into the mire. The brave decision is the one to bin the manager. I don't expect any manager to take a team that finished 4th and end up 12th. That's not a far reaching expectation. We've lost five in a row. We will lose again next week and eventually the more we lean on listening to those that defend Johansen the more that will lead us all the way to playing Ross County and Hamilton next season. It's actually the gutless decision I think to do nothing. Kettlewell was far too long.

Has everyone forgotten that the team under JBA was on the slide since he made an arse of the Scottish Cup game at Pittodrie . He started playing players out of position after that too , due to injuries and we just made Europe on the very last day of the season. As previously mentioned all the good players from that team have been sold and our top striker , indeed the leauges top striker has turned into a dud with no interest in playing or working hard. AJ should be given time to get us going in the right direction .Hopefully the players and the fans go along with him although I thought he looked a bit shell-shocked in post match interview .🤔

For me the biggest doubt derives from steadily getting worse as each week passes and appreciate confidence is part of the issue . July and Aug we had a similar identity - passing , ball retention etc . It’s hard not to correlate the longer the manager has had to get ideas across the worst we’ve become . it’s not obvious what we’re working on in training - put individual errors to the side - in most games we completely lose our shape and teams carve through us for long periods of time - that’s got to be down to training etc and not just individual errors
-
No you could not. None of us could . I think this is where the majority of my arguments stem from . We completely underestimate as fans how difficult it is to be a football manager, particularly with a team like Motherwell where expectations are high and the budget in relative terms is low. Let's just look at one single variable from last season. The players that AJ has had available to him. Away Ward, Welsh, Slattery, Just, Watt, In other words, the top performing players last season..That is 5 players for a start. Injured McGinn, Koutrombous, Priestman, SOD. Mainstays in last year's team That is 9 players so far. Then we have our friend Maswanhise who has hardly kicked a ball since February.. Remember he was not performing well under JBA either towards the end. Then there is Fadinger who has not been allowed to play in the same way as last season because he does not have the players around him to do so. The names mentioned bring you close Motherwell's best starting 11 last season Longelo and Said apart. This is one single factor of many that Alfred has to manage. To say play SOD at right back and play central defenders in central defence and all will be fixed is simplistic in the extreme. The manager is suffering a perfect storm just now. An inflated expectation of where Motherwell should be in the food chain, players that think they are better than they are because of reasonably brief purple patches last season, significant injuries and on and on and on.......... Look at Dundee..The Dundee fans wanted Presley out this time last season. Look where they are now. We have to be capable of looking beyond the very small timescale of a one month window. I hope the Board have a little more patience than the supports.

I think you are right bud. I think they all have potential but AJ not utilising them properly

Yir a wizard Harry no a comedian

Dare I say it? The vast majority of the signings would have been brought in on JBAs watch
-
Was thinking of all the players we have signed in summer, how many were recommended by AJ. I think Kanga definitely an AJ signing but the rest probably scouted and then I assume AJ has the final say I actually think a lot of our signings will come good. At start of season it was looking good but for some reason has just went all pear-shaped
-
Mmm? I don’t think you read said previous post correctly and understood the context? You asked what would Ya Bezzer! say about yesterday’s shit show…. Quotation marks
-
Spot on,we needed to sign a proper right back in the summer and we never and now we're stuck with sparrow an ageing odonnell and johhny k who can't stay fit for any lengthy of time.
-
Ahhhh. Very true 🤪
-
I take your point Grizzly but if he did that I doubt we’d have enough left for a 5 a-side team.
