  1. Past hour
  2. I did a quick google search on racing colours once before and the Lord Hamilton colours I found from around that time were either Red & White or Blue. Hardly definitive, so will be interesting to hear the definitive answer from the Jockey Club.
  3. Ive always liked Luca Ross. I think he is the kind if player that would do well 8n this squad. Problem is, how does he get game time when our midfield/ attacking options are so strong? Still only 19 though, which seems incredible given how long he has been on the periphary.....
  4. I’d rather have had rangers on 42 and Aberdeen on 26 than rangers being on 44.
  5. This game shouldnt be any significant problem. However, I am concerned how many players may be missing. Kettlewell will concede possession to us. We just need to keep an eye on Jordan White and Hale. As long as we dont turn up with a team of reserves and JT brings his shooting boots we should be fine.....
  6. Today
  7. Unlike most years, this year we have a team that absolutley can beat anyone in Scotland on our day. We have the tools available to actually win the cup this year. We cant take any team or any round for granted. Should be hitting this as our strongest possible side!
  8. I actually have an enquiry pending at the Jockey Club regarding Lord Hamilton of Dalzell's racing colours. In my defence, I am retired and don't get out much, apart from my visits to Fir Park and GP 😱. Sometimes on holiday I have encounter Bradford City fans who are convince we nicked their colours, so i would like something categorical about our beautiful c&a.
  9. Start our strongest team and hopefully is cruising give mcallister and Ross game time. We cant treat opposition lightly but hoping we absolutely pump them for obvious reasons
  10. Good result for us as keeps us 12pts ahead of utd and dons, top 6 place getting closer
  11. Did we not get through our League Cup group unbeaten and make it all the way to the semi-final? That's not bad for a string of worst performances. Inevitably every team gets beat in a cup competition (except the winner), but I don't see a Macclesfield on the cards here.
  12. Nope dont agree. Quite happy they are losing and keeping us 12 points and many goals ahead of 7th. Top six is our first target.
  13. Referee having no problems seeing Rangers penalty today. Mind you Aberdeen are awful.
  14. Good to see you have removed that imposter who had taken over your account. Or are you just recalling November 2013.
  15. The racing colours thing sounds more plausible to me. Changing colours is a huge thing and would need something major to justify it. A condition of being donated land to create a new Stadium comes across as more likely than adopting an English team's colours. Then again, maybe Lord Hamilton was a bid Bradford fan.
  16. Need Aberdeen to get the finger out and get some points off rangers
  17. Yes, I've heard that before and that's what the video also said but other explanations are available, apparently 😂.
  18. As is so often the case with Motherwell we save our worst performances for Cup ties even when we’re on good form. I don’t see next week being any different I’m afraid. 1-1 (3-5 penalties)
  19. Like Gordon Banks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I know nothing to do with yesterdays game but how good was that Craig Gordon save?. Unbelievable
  21. VAR checked it, the ref told the players to wait.
  22. The racing colours story was first relayed to me when I was wee by my late father, who began attending games in the late 1920s. He recounted that Lord Hamilton gifted us the land for Fir Park, as long as we adopted his racing colours.
  23. Agreed. We all know how SK will set his team up. They'll sit in deep and try to frustrate us. If we don't score early it could be a long afternoon. An early first goal will be crucial. The time to bring on unforced subs is if/when we're 2 or 3 goals up. By all means rest & rotate players but not until we have a decent cushion.
  24. I see our our claret and amber are explained as being Lord Hamilton of Dalzell's racing colours. Others claim we simply copied Bradford City's C&A, and this sounds plausible since they played first in yoked shirts and then stripes and so did we after we changed from blue (presumably because the latter was a common jersey in Scotland) in 1913. Anyone know anything definitive on the subject?
  25. Said did move his head although I thought the boy went down holding his groin.
  26. It wouldn’t surprise me if Jens plays one of the youngsters like McAllister and he may give McGhee a start. im hoping we might have a new face in as well by Saturday i think we’ll win but it won’t be easy. Munster always seems to start positively with new teams.
  27. Stephen Robinson post match yesterday: The last two games have been totally unacceptable and I take total blame for it. Stephen Robinson 2 seconds later: "The injuries have been incredible. We've got seven starters out. If that happened to Celtic or Rangers, they couldn't cope. Classic football manager doublespeak.
