  2. Not the sexiest move, but probably pays more.
  3. Today
  4. Dan Casey signs for Wycombe Wanderers
  5. Here's hoping as baldies go he's more Slot than ten hag. šŸ™‚šŸ˜
  6. I voted I voted what I was in favour of and declined to agree on things I didn't like the phrasing off. Not that I don't trust those currently there but some things where worded where I thought that sounds like we can decide if you are and are not allowed to be a member of well society and some of the language around criticism. I think so long as criticism is fair there will be times where they need to be criticised and there should be no blowback for someone saying how they honestly feel so long as it's respectful and not personal.
  7. I agree. Its good that they are bringing in some structure, where previously there had been none. Being a member of the Well Society should come with it certain rules and guarantees. It shouldnt just be money disappearing into a bottomless pit at the whims of an Executive Board that no one voted for. I would have liked a little more detail in respect of what certain aspects of the consultation meant, but I guess some if wont be known until its played out and we see how things are operating. Hopefully at that stage changes can be made to anything that isnt sitting right. I think its another step in the right direction and as long as those on the Society Board keep operating in the present consultative manner, then they will maintain my wholehearted support.
  8. I’ve not worded that well so I’ll try again. I do enjoy going because it’s a life long passion following Motherwell FC. I know however that I’m not always going to ā€˜enjoy’ the game because that’s just the way it is and always will be for a club of our stature, but I go regardless and wouldn’t miss it, even though it often has me tearing my hair out. So I’m afraid Motherwell FC are stuck with me.
  9. I get that there's a lot going on just now. A new manager; pre season about to start; the prospect of comings and goings and so on. However, don't overlook the Well Society consultation on proposed membership changes taking place just now. Its a chance to put across your views. All in all I found it to be a commendable attempt to update some admin matters. However, I found it to be a bit vague, unwieldy and complicated. Maybe just me. I found it hard to form a definitive opinion on some issues as I agreed with the overall principle but not the detailed changes. Anyway folks its your opinions that matter. Get your responses in.
  10. Any time any team in Scotland takes the opportunity to break the "good honest team" mould, I'm all for it. Whether it's Laszlo at Hearts, Ange at Celtic or ourselves with Wimmer. It doesn't always work out, but it's worth the risk to bring some new ideas into a too-often stale league.
  11. The known options were very uninspiring, some maybe even scary!! I’m glad we are taking a chance on an unknown quantity. Not sure if it makes any difference to our chances of success or failure but at least it’s an unknown. With the ususual crowd I think the odds were more in favor of failure
  12. If they bring in another Biereth, I'm OK with that.
  13. High press, is relatively new, though. They didn't call it slow, passive, but the Spanish Tiki-Taka is much slower and less direct most of the time and was all the rage for a while. Then you have the counter attacking style that was (and still is) popular with many coaches. Again, not aggressive or front foot.
  14. I am fully behind the new manager No idea who he was really , he played for Norwich under Paul Lambert so must have at least a bit of a knowledge of UK football We have not been a great watch really for at least 4-5 years now with the exception of KVV scoring goals for fun in those last 3 months, and Theo Bair's half season . I heard someone suggest few days ago we should have appointed either Craig Levein or Mark McGhee , the second guy got a second chance and we seen what happened
  15. Bud, I wouldn't have minded neilson but I trust the process and it's an innovative appointment again. Your " feelings/ predictions " are invariably wrong but doesn't stop you giving them , so keep doing it , it's a forum. If uou don't enjoy the football, you shouldn't go, just give the club your money, that's still supporting them...
  16. Who was the last manager appointed anywhere than came in promising slow,, passive football. They all say they want aggressive front foot footbsll. Many fail to deliver anything resembling it...
  17. I feel for you if that’s the case. I ultimately go to enjoy myself and be with family and friends etc a good performance or result is the icing on the cake. I hope the new manager gives you some joy this season, I sincerely do.
  18. I don’t go to the football to enjoy myself and be happy and merry, I go to support my club. If I wanted a good time I’d join the Tartan Army. Of course and I will give him my full support, certainly to start with. However I just get a bad feeling about this appointment. Managed/coached ten clubs and he’s only 42 and has no track record of hanging about anywhere for any length of time. Not what we need imo and it looks like we have went ā€˜left field’ for the sake of going ā€˜left field’. I would have been much happier with a Robbie Neilson or Tony Doc type appointment.
  19. Exactly. 3 or 4 quality signings to sprinkle some stardust on what is, on the face of it, a mostly solid if unremarkable squad. More Spittal's less Paton's & Davor's.
  20. Just to be clear, I’m optimistic about the new manager and the season ahead. We just need to get the Miller money in and bring in some quality over the next couple of weeks.
  21. To be fair it's sometime difficult to tell the sarcastic ones apart from standard . Maybe a šŸ˜‰ emoji would help the simpler of us on here the next time sarcasm is attempted. Cheers.
  22. I’d explain the sarcasm in my post, but I didn’t bring my crayons.
  23. "Like clockwork", you say. So, at what time will the the recruitment team start "dishing out" contracts? I certainly have a pulse and could do with some extra cash, so would like to get in early to join the queue.
  24. No point cramming the squad now. Like clockwork, the recruitment team will be back at it in January, dishing out contracts to anyone with a pulse to paper over the annual injury crisis.
  25. We are allegedly interested in a striker from Crystal Palace, Ademola Adebomi https://www.glasgowworld.com/sport/football/motherwell-fc/crystal-palace-talent-motherwell-transfer-radar-interested-in-forward-5176400 The article says he has other options so we probably can't afford him.
  26. That's kind of my point. Many on here rightly point out that our squad was huge last season full of players not contributing. To sign another defender before moving someone else on risks the same situation...
