All anybody needs to know is that the premiership is set up and constituted to suit and pander to the needs of the ugly sisters, the other 10 teams dont matter. Change only happens if they both want it, or teams like Aberdeen vote with them.

When we were in the First Division, there were 14 teams and you played each one 3 times. There used to be an argument the odd number of games gave some teams home advantage, athough they did try to balance it every season. Now we have a precedent in the Premiership that teams play an uneven number of games against certain teams there's less reason to argue against a similar 14 team format. Of course it will never happen any more than an 18 team league, because the TV companies demand 4 OF derbies per season.

I don't understand how the 12 team league we have now is any better than an 18 team league. We play teams 3/4 times a season we realistically all work each other out by game 2/3. If we go to 18 it realistically encourages teams to try and play better football as their is less risk of relegation it should also in theory make bringing young players into the first team easier as their would be less risk of relegation and the 'meaningless games' would provide an opportunity to those players to have an exposure to first team football. It also should in theory make it easier for someone outside of Rangers and Celtic to win the league as they wouldn't be given 4 opportunities to beat them a season to claw back the gap.

Guess who the ref was when we beat them 3 - 2 last time? Clue, it rhymes with Nevin Fancy. I get all the concerns about refs, Rangers VAR etc., but one positive of the style we play now is that we give refs less chance to penalise us. Moorman and Knight-Lebel didn't have to make a single tackle last night, for example. Of course, they can still stuff us by chalking off goals and VAR handballs - just not as often.

I'll be disappointed if we didn't receive one derisory OF bid for one of our players today.

The old 10 team SPL was bad for football. Too many teams in the bottom half scrapping for survival at the expense of entertainment.

I felt sorry for him last night. He almost tried too hard when he came on and nothing came off for him. Nice touch from Alfred. He does that often. Seen him doing the same with Lowry on the touchline after he was subbed off.

It does all seem a bit performative these days. I get why the players would do it after a big win, when the crowd has been raucous and we are all celebrating together, or indeed after an unlucky defeat where they have given everything and the fans want to show appreciation. But doing it after every league game devalues it for me. And I definitely dont like to see it if the team has put in a stinker. Just get up the tunnel and sort things out in the dressing room.

According to jane lewis on the bbc,there's been no bids for any of our players and we don't expect any,it looks like there will be no incomings with some of our younger players potentially heading out on loan.

This is all at least a year old. There was a bit of a clamber a year or 2 ago to change to a 14 or 16 team set up, so the league leaked a 10 team suggestion and quickly binned the idea when everyone kicked off about it in the hope everyone would be happy sticking with the 12 team league.

A 10 day gap after this till we play Aberdeen at home so we can leave it all on the field with plenty time to recover and look forward to seeing us against the sheep at Fir Park after some practise on the field with AJ.

Every accusation is a confession, as they say. I don't complain about some of your weird and wonderful contributions (or about those from a few others). It's a fan opinion forum so I'll post what I like until the moderator says otherwise, thanks. Maswanhise's form has nose-dived since about February and I'm not sure his head is really with us. If we had received a reasonable offer before the end of the window, I would have happily jumped at the money. Perhaps there is a reason why his suitors seem not to be so keen on him. I would have been more concerned had Longelo left us. The new squad looks stronger than last season to me and potentially even more exciting so I'm really looking forward to them gelling now that the manager has more coaching time in the international break. If Alfred can work his magic on Maswanhise and restore him to his old form then that will be fine by me but ultimately that's up to the player. Let's wait and see what happens now he's with us until January at least.....
