Looked to me like he was heavily involved in both goals v Killie. He was in the right position then so an obvious improvement and a decent contribution. Given his price tag he certainly needs to score more. But if others are scoring off his work then that helps. Only Hearts have scored more league goals than us up to now. I think he deserves a bit longer before he is deemed a failure. We have had other strikers who were not prolific goal scorers but contributed. Bowman springs to mind. He had a poor goals return. The rest of the team made up for his lack of goals and so far that is what we are seeing with Stamatelopoulos. But could he do better? Yes.

One of our all time greats (IMHO), those of us of a certain vintage got to witness something special when he and Pettigrew were terrorising defences. RIP Bobby.

There’s quite a lot on social media from Liverpool fans talking about him too. Considering he’d played with them such a long time ago it speaks volumes of the impact he had when he arrived there. Injuries really screwed him over at Liverpool. I remember a friend of mine who knew him mentioned how he really didn’t like bill shankly which was the first time I’d heard anyone speak negatively about him. I think Bobby had got a really bad injury and was out for a long time and shankly didn’t speak to him at all after that. Would purposely ignore him if he were to walk past him. He then got him punted to Coventry? I think? without as much as a thanks and good luck. managers were mental back then.

Hi Everyone, Not sure if I am allowed to do this. Due to a bereavement I will not be able to travel to the game. I have 2 x Adult tickets (£52). Happy to sell for £35.

Sad news. Him and pettigrew are the best partnership I’ve ever seen. Pettigrew of course scored the goals but Bobby had the skill to set up the chances but I think his greatest attribute was not setting up the chances but his ability to control a ball that came to him at any angle speed or height. His touch and ability to bring a ball under control was outstanding. RIP Bobby

What a load of bullshit. The guys a good player and no where near out of his depth ffs he was capped for Australia last year and then spent most of the season out injured.
-
If he sat on the halfway line for 90 minutes, he'd still be better than The Rile.
-
One of my all time favourites, and quite a coup that we were able to sign him (thanks to his links with Ian St. John). Graham, Pettigrew, Goal.
-
RIP Bobby Graham My wife's grandfather's cousin , and a proper club legend who I would like to have seen play live
-
Stamatalopolous was involved in both goals on Saturday. I’d like to see Hendry get a game through the middle for comparison purposes. We’ve scored a few goals this season, that is not where the concerns have been.
-
Hopefully not another John Reilly !
-
Hope so with Hendry. Maybe Stama is more a penalty box striker. Yes he don't have pace of Taiwando but he's not slow either. I think Stama is doing better holding up the ball and linking up play. Looks like we gonna get more goals from midfield this year.
-
i would say the only reason Ward is getting more stick than Kelly is because we now know what Ox can do
-
For me, it just looks like AP is missing that X factor. Every shot of his seems to be blocked, easily pushed off the ball, always struggling to keep hold of it. Lack of pace and strength. I think he might be out of his depth, and I think he knows it too. Hendry, from what I've seen, looks like he does have a bit of confidence, pace and strength. If he gets a bit of momentum going, he could be the missing piece of the front line jigsaw.

In Kilmarnock game there was an occasion where he beat off side trap, was one on one with goalie, took it past him and angle was too narrow to shoot, so he passed it and nearly got assist. It's fine margins. I thinks he kept Kilmarnock busy. Just needs a break I think. Think he died drift wide too often.
-
Sad news, great player with outstanding awareness and defence splitting passes that - not taking away from Pettigrew’s abilities - gave Pettigrew the chances.
-
Really sad news, a good guy and an absolutely fantastic player.
-
I don't know Robster. I saw him in 3 our of the 4 League Cup group stage games and he worked his socks off, but just didn't seem to actually do very much. I would never accuse him of lack of effort. Maybe our current set up just doesn't suit him?
-
Very sad news and condolences to his family and friends. An amazing player, who struck up a telepathic understanding with Willie Pettigrew. I believe that came about by chance. I seem to recall he was a quiet, under the radar, type of player with his prolific sidekick receiving more publicity. Bobby had the knack of having great foresight and positional awareness and brought out the best in others. RIP Bobby.
-
I think his positional play getting better. Work rate improved and goals will come.
-
I see the club have announced that Bobby Graham has passed away aged 81, another club legend gone.
-
Stamatelopoulos is not scoring more goals, his positional play is still suspect, so in what way has he improved?

I understand peoples point of view - but it's done. There's nothing to be gained from constantly criticising players in my view - it doesn't help them. Ward was brought in as back up anyway and if JBA thinks he needs dropped then I'm sure he will do it.
-
There's usually one guy gets pelters and soon it will be someone else. SOd, Kelly, ap Stam , now Ward. Next it will be someone else. Stama has improved as has SoD.
-
Think one reason wards getting stuck is that the goals he conceded have been so costly. We could have had 6 points from last 2 games if he didn't make the errors and be near top of league.
