After the past few seasons where we struggled to address defensive issues, it has been particularly impressive that the coaching staff managed to identify the problems that continued into the first couple of months of this season, and found a way to resolve them.
-
We’ve not lost a goal at home since the Falkirk game on the 18th of October. Thats an unbelievable stat considering we are Motherwell. And it’s unbelievable I hadnt thought about this until today. hopefully tomorrow will extend that stat
-
Ideally I'd like a replacement for Gordon (who I reckon might leave in the summer) in now so that he can get settled in so that in the summer he's used to how we play and ready for (hopefully) European games. My thinking is if we're shopping in the Scandinavian market, their close season might make a permanent move easier...
-
We should be signing a CB anyway regardless of Welsh situation/timing
-
TBF, most diplomats just say what their bosses tell them to say, but nicely.
-
I'd be wanting 2 more in we need a CB at the minimum and I think we need a LB as well so hopefully both happen and we finish the season as strong as we started it.
-
O'Neill was supposed to let Jens know on Monday about Welsh. He's not the diplomat he's portrayed.

I think it depends what the straight red is for, e.g. a deliberate handball would apply in the next cup game, but if is for serious foul play it is the next game.
-
I'm very heartened from JBA's presser. It seems like a steady as you go approach is no longer acceptable. Its no longer our plan to just keep a successful squad together for as long as we can; rather we want strengthen it if possible by bringing in another 1/2/3 players. No massive overhaul required just gradual improvement. Our rivals will be trying to strengthen this window so we must keep that bit ahead of them. We'll see what the next 10 days or so bring.
-
From what we've heard from the Chairman, CEO, and JBA himself, they all have a good working relationship and are in constant contact, so I dont think he needs to send messages to his own board through the media. I took what he said as making it public that the club is aligned, which means it would take a ridiculous bid for a player to change anything. We will have our price, like anyone else, but there's definitely a premium in January.
-
I’ve a feeling that there’s some sort of agreement or understanding between the club, the manager and the players to see out the season. I feel that there’s players are totally onboard with JBA and are willing to wait and see how we finish the season and some may also agree to stay on if he’s stays and that the club will back their decisions. For the club it’s a win win situation as everyone’s stock will only increase (injuries avoided) and Europe could be a money spinning miracle should the core of the team remain and additions are made.

The journos love him for the big tease that he is.
-
So what, are we now saying we want him to play along with stupid questions from stupid people to sell stupid newspapers.
-
Thats how i took it as well. He's loyal & assuming the board dont break any trust then that will continue.
-
I don’t ever remember being as engaged with a Motherwell manager when he does his press conferences. Even our previous managers who had a wee bit of a personality (I think we’ve had a couple ) I wouldn’t have dreamt of sitting listening to their 10min presser. lovely to hear his resoluteness about how we don’t need to sell and his building of a better team and adding players. The guy is impeccable.
-
Not 100% sure, but I thought if it was a straight red it applied to the next game.
-
In fairness he then did go on to give an update of sorts. Along the lines of..... 'they are on track with the schedule we set and are a week closer to return'. I guess he was just making a point about being asked the same question about the same players week after week?
-
Not for me, he was bang on, these fuds ask the same pathetic questions every week and one thing is I don't think he suffers fools gladly and quite right the Scottish media are full of shit stirring zoomers
-
He did it with humour and they all laughed. Im totally cool with it.....
-
The sarcastic response to the questions about Watt and Hendry made me wince a bit. I know it's a stupid question given he answered the same question last week but journalists need to do their job. Too much of it and there will be journalists who will be itching to put thr boot in should we hit a slump...
-
Thought it was interesting when he said “in talks with his representatives “
-
Hopefully Mayo plays and our strikers can give him pure Hell Mann. Ba boom 🤪🤪
-
This team but Sparrow for Johnny & Gordon for Sods

I absolutely love Big Jens. That presser is fantastic. We need to do everything we can to encourage him to stay as long as possible.
