  1. Past hour
  2. This. It really does get on my nerves a bit at times when Kettlewell is described as inexperienced and that he overthinks. Of course he makes tactical errors but so does every manager. Hindsight is also a great thing.
  3. You said you were 'baffled' that Kettlewell doesn't see what the fans see. He's paid to see far beyond the basics of what we observe. We see Vale play for 90 minutes. We don't see him in training every day. Kettlewell has to focus on tactical adjustments, adaptability, and overall team dynamics. It could very well be the case that having Vale play up top alongside Bair affects the qualities that Bair brings to the team. It could see him less able to play his preferred game. It could also affect the performance of the midfield having two players so far forward, instead of one playing slightly behind and offering an outlet to our attacking midfielders? It could be the case that the management team have seen reasons to play Vale slightly behind Bair because it will affect how the opposition defence then goes on to try to deal with them during the game, pulling their defenders out of position and depending on those defenders qualities, maybe that allows Bair more space to get in behind? Now, I don't know if any of that is true, but it could all be a factor in his decision. I would wager that it's nowhere near as simple as we like to think, and I'd wager that whatever we see from the stands, Kettlewell and his team see that and much more.
  4. Good point. If others had done their job as well as he did his, then he may well have had zero saves to make. Like quite a few games this season. Aberdeen were hardly world beaters and we let them off the hook. Bar a 25 minute spell in the second half we were at least their equal. Even then we were inches away from a headed equaliser from Moses late on as Aberdeen were in panic mode..
  5. thank fuck I dont pay Sky a penny.
  6. Everyone entitled to their opinions. There aren't many people you rate so slightly surprised that Bevis is one of them. And yes I am one of those that regularly refers to him as a nice guy because he is. Anyone wearing claret and amber is a nice guy as long as they don't become an a**e. COYW
  7. You do know the games at Fir Park? Wonder if MJC will agree
  8. No one is forcing them to spend so much. It's a choice from those owners.
  9. I’ll stick with my view as it’s not reckless either both players were entitled to go for the ball and no I wouldn’t have been screaming for a red card but I’d have been screaming at Vale if he’d pulled out of the challenge and I’m confident our appeal will be upheld.
  10. Whilst not wishing any club to go under, anything which takes money out of the top tiers of English football can only be a good thing. It might just help to even things up.
  11. Today
  12. It would have been some afternoon's work if he made zero saves.
  13. It's not just SOD that's at fault though. Our entire back line have been problematic this season but some players seem to be criticised more than others.
  14. Three decent saves. And I regard a 4-0 defeat as a hiding. If others had done the basics as well as Kelly, we would have at least drawn.
  15. The salary cap idea sounds more like a reaction the new Football Regulator that has been introduced. Most EPL clubs are spewing money and running at a loss thanks to massive wage bills. Not to mention all the issues many are facing with breaches of the Financial Fair Play rules. I doubt it's workable, but something needs to be done. Just look at the data posted here. For example, only 3 clubs making a pre-tax profit and the eye watering debt
  16. I watched the live stream. I'm not desperate for them to slip up, it just keeps happening whether it's SOD gifting pens or Kelly doing the same idiotic routine where he retreats back to his line as the ball comes in at every corner. It was just a point about him saving us from a hiding when he only made three saves in the whole game.
  17. The only reason to have a salary cap is to guarantee profits for the owners. It's why all the foreign money poured in. These owners saw a cash cow just waiting to be milked and the English will never get their game back again. They can't get rid of relegation but they are also demanding to be allowed to spend 5 times more than other Championship clubs the season after being relegated. Hopefully the PFA refuse to have anything to do with it.
  18. This is a another Steelmen Online myth. It exists nowhere else than here.
  19. Do you also keep stats on errors you see others making, or is it only a select few you choose to highlight? Comes across that you are just sitting there desperate for Kelly, SOD or Spittal to slip up. Surprised you ignored SOD's one slip where he sclaffed the ball into the crowd. Kelly was far from the worst player on Saturday. Given how poor you say he was, I find it surprising that the Motherwell fans at the game did not turn on him. . Out of curiosity, were you at the game or is your assessment based on TV highlights? Or maybe his supposed salary? Strange you did not have anything to say about the crosses from Gent that almost reached the North Sea, or Shaw and Nicholson hiding and refusing to challenge for the ball umpteen times. Or Bair passing the buck rather than having a shot. How about McGinn giving the ball away when under no pressure. Or Casey going walkabout. Or Miller caught dreaming when SOD cut the ball back to him. I repeat, every one of our players....no matter their quality.... regularly make mistakes. Some seem exempt from criticism.
  20. And nobody is going to want to pay to watch the SPL with our current standard of officiating. It couldn't be further from sport or entertainment as it stands.
  21. You realise the difference though right? NFL is an entertainment sport, EPL is sports entertainment. Can't see it working unless it's uefa wide
  22. I don't think to be fair that that's a argument against appealing the red card. Some people think it's a straight red and other people don't. Motherwell fc clearly don't and they've got the right to challenge it. If it's not overturned then obviously they'll need to accept the decision.
  23. Bullshit, if it had been the other way round would you have been screaming for a red card for the Aberdeen player, of course you would. Oh and whether there was any intent on Vales part is irrelevant, it was a reckless challenge that endangered an opponent, as I said red card in any league.
  24. Not directly related to us but the EPL club owners have now announced plans for a salary cap. It's obviously the start of a move to move huge NFL style profits out of the UK and into the owners foreign bank accounts. I don't remember any of them saying they were going to do this when they bought the clubs....
  25. Are you saying the sportscene panel is wrong? 🤔 Remember they have played the game as they remind us
