  1. Yep! One of the most important stats that seemed to have been ignored by many was that he's represented Wales at U16, U17, U19, and U21 levels, and the performance of the Welsh national team over the last decade demonstrated that he'd have something to offer.
  2. Kibble is a charity supporting kids at the margins and at risk.
  3. Just been contacted by staff at a couple of US and Canadian Colleges who know I'm a 'Well fan to ask about the video. They tell me everyone in their respective staffrooms are talking about it.
  4. If McGinn needs to wear a protective mask or his injury isn't fully healed, I suspect Levein will ensure he gets (re-)injured early doors.
  5. A few folk have called me about this one, too. They said they'd seen it a newspaper. Daily Record?
  6. Careful! you'll be drummed out the Brownies for daring to do anything other than praise Kelly. I thought he was poor at the first one, too, as did most of the folk around me.
  7. The last 'Well player I can remember making himself available for throw-ins and doing something positive on receipt of the throw-in was Andy Walker.
  8. Thanks for that. He lived in Walkerburn Drive in Wishie down the stair from my mate, so we knew him. However, old age does the memory in.
  9. Didn't Portsmouth also take a young guy, Bobbie?? from Coltness who was signed with us, too?
  10. In a previous job, on occasion I worked quite closely with SPFA (PFA Scotland) Education Committee, and it was obvious how highly regarded he was whenever he attended any meetings.
  11. When I lived in that area I went to a few games at Kenilworth Road and the racism I saw some of their fans displaying was disgusting, so maybe that's a contributing factor.
  12. A recent former 'Well player with whom I'm acquainted told me, frequently, that the players who make most (financially) from their careers are the ones who move most often. It's the same in some non-football careers, too.
  13. Got to hope so. The so-called senior players were hiding on the park on Wednesday and the club captain didn't seem to be a Mr Motivator.
  14. I work my Manger's coat and Should have won it by half-time.
  15. He was sitting near me in the PoD Stand, so he, definitely saw them.
  16. I'm sorry, I don't know, but I doubt it.
  17. "Gamesmanship" like this is even evident in kids' matches, too. Influence of things kids see in televised matches, perhaps? I hate this stuff but as it's unlikely to disappear, I think we need to be smart in our approach. Take Martin Boyle and Porteous as examples on Saturday: the former always leant forward to an almost horizontal position when moving forward with the ball, so he went down as soon as he was tackled and got free kicks and the latter ensured he fouled his opponent almost every time as he fell down and got free kicks. Newel gets away with fly fouls in every Hibs game. As for Hearts antics at Fir Park, Nelison was instructing his team in the "dark arts" throughout, and never away from the fourth official. I hate suggesting it, but maybe our players need to start adopting similar tactics against these two teams and the Glasgow uglies.
  18. I've just arranged to pick up my ticket at Easter Road. Ticket office at Fir Park offered me that option as I can't get to Motherwell, before 16h00 today.
  19. Certainly about their feelings towards Jack Ross. Wonder if something happened between the home and way legs to AZ Alkmaar. Their performances since suggest the old cliche of losing the dressing room might be apt for what happened.
  20. He's not under fire. Seems no-one is allowed to make any comments about Kelly unless it's to worship him as it seems remarks about his ability for dealing with high balls and distribution and comparisons with previous keepers (choosing Chapman for this, is of course one option) are taken as unacceptable.
  21. We've had better keepers that never enjoyed the adulation Kelly receives. His distribution is poor and he's often slow to spot an opportunity to start an attack.
  22. I wonder what the impact it has on the performance of defenders when they have a keeper (who most fans think can do no wrong) continually fails to even attempt to come and claim balls into the box?
  23. I used to work with SPFA reps on EU projects and they told me that players make most money out of signing-on fees when they make moves, thus the more moves = more signing-on fees = more money. A short career in which they have to optimise their earnings for themselves and their families.
  24. I think that's more likely than it being her negotiating the release of Owen Coyle from Queens Park.
