  1. Mark O'Brien captains Newport in league 2 play off final at Wembley and gets sent off for two yellow cards.
  2. John Martis lives in Manse Road a couple of hundred yards from Fir Park.
  3. No one has considered here whether Robinson wants to be here. In no way do I want him out but he will point to just about every target achieved in his time here and will have a lot of positives on his CV. Will he have the energy and the drive to do another rebuilding job? I thought he looked pretty pissed off in his interviews after Saturday's game. Maybe he might think it's time for a change.
  4. Conspiracy theory here. There is a report on the BBC sport Scotland site suggesting there is a plan to increase the Championship to 12 teams and one way of increasing the teams in the league to 44 would be to add two colt teams. I wonder who they would be.
  5. Just checked on Wiki and it seems Sibbald took some time to consider his option even going on trial at Luton before returning to Falkirk and signing a one year deal. He left for Livi at the end of that for nothing. Could see the same scenario happening with Cadden.
  6. The case of Sibbald at Falkirk is often quoted as a young player whose development fee out stripped his worth but I don't know what the final outcome was.
  7. I would expect Cadden to be here next season. If we are due development fee I cannot see a club matching the 600k we expected when Hearts showed interest last year and he has since become a full international so we may be looking for even more. A two year deal and a return to form and injury free and we might get a decent fee in the future but not 600k +.
  8. Easiest vote of the season. Turnbull ran the show. Reckon he is the best young player we have produced since Faddy.
  9. If the development fee increases with the number of appearances he has then bring him on for the last few minutes. I am sure the club will be aware if another four appearances will affect the fee. I want that horrible Glasgow club to pay as much as we can screw out of them and we should leave them no wriggle room in the negotiations. I would not trust them to play fair with us. On his decision to leave I think he and his agent has realised that his star will never be higher and they should cash in now. Contrast that with Turnbull. He for me is the real deal and he knows that he will get better and will get a big move in a year or so. Not so confident that Jake would get a move like this one if he were to stay another year. Teams have worked him out. I remember seeing Levein going mad at Berra when Jake cut inside and scored against Hearts. Levein was pointing at his right leg as if to say you should have kept him on that side. and that is what most teams have done since his form has dipped.
  10. The moron who threw the lighter should be identified and banned. He gave the media all they needed to deflect from the horrible support in the South Stand. Is one horrible individual throwing a lighter any worse than 5000 Sevco supporters singing sectarian songs. I know what I think but I also know which club will be pilloried in the media.
  11. I am going to make you all jealous. I was there the night the boys in blue got beat 5-2 by the boys in claret and amber. I was only 10 but my dad took me along to Ibrox. It was school night but I will always be grateful to him for taking me. Unfortunately he also took me to the next round when we lost 1-0 at home to Airdrie. I think this was the game that pissed off my hero Ian St John and he left soon after.
  12. Once again the Old Firm will inconvenience every other club as the fixtures will only be worked out after the weekend because they will not want Celtic winning the league in the game against Rangers. If it was not for this we could have them by tomorrow and clubs could plan hospitality sponsorship etc well in advance .
  13. If the SPFL is doing its job then Accies, Dundee and St Mirren should have their fixtures arranged so that they have played everyone in the bottom 6 twice at home and twice away over the season. Then there can be no allegations of bias or unfairness to a particular club in the relegation dog fight. If we are to get an extra home fixture against someone surely it has to be Livi or St Johnstone. But it is the organisers of Scottish football so I wouldn't bank on it.
  14. No Scott on the bench. Main is usually subbed off but don't see who could come on in his place with only Johnston's to come on and he is no use up there on his own.
  15. If he is on 14k a week then I am delighted. What that means is that if they can pay that to a player that is no more than a good prospect then it will not be long until they are bankrupt again and we will be rid once again of this despicable football club.
  16. I agree with this. For me Turnbull is a much better player. I also think Turnbull has shown confidence in his ability by signing for us. He expects to improve and get his move in a year or so. Hastie 's star is high just now and may never be as high again and he is right to cash in when he can. The ideal for me would be that he bombs at that horrible club but takes them for every penny he can get then moves on a rich man and has a good career in England.
  17. I loath McLeish. His time at Fir Park was terrible and what annoyed me was that he was never criticised in the press. His spending and signings were a joke. Shaun McSkimming a journey man we paid a fortune for, two attackers Kirk and McGrillan and money for Eddie May a full back. Andy Roddie and John Hendrie still give me the shivers considering we paid money for them. Hendrie went to Stirling Albion and two years later was playing for Pollok Juniors. He left us in a terrible state and Harry Kampman had to bring in loads of players. But enough about him. However I once heard an experienced manager saying that a good judge of a managers ability was the state he left a club in. McLeish failed on that front too.
  18. Only three pages reflecting a great result with all the usual suspects missing. Yet a disreputal rag runs a story about a player going to Ibrox and some are all over it. Negligence by the club, unable to spot super star in the under 20s, a youth system not fit for purpose all being thrown at the club. Why can't people just enjoy it when things are going well?
  19. Very hard to pick a winner today. Goly destroyed them in the first half. The young guns Turnbull, Hastie and Campbell are an absolute joy to watch. Aldred strolled it at the back and our full backs played well but I really think our big turn up in fortune has coincided with the arrival of Gorrin as a main player. I thought he was outstanding today breaking up the play and starting attacks.
  20. If he goes and at the moment and it's a big if, I wonder if Jake is not so confident of making the big time and wants to cash in before he is found out. I am not as sure of him as others on here. He needs to show he can repeat his four or five game run over a longer period and perform when opponents have seemingly worked him out. Time will tell if he is a Stephen Pearson or a Dom Thomas. For me Turnbull is the real future star and he can be confident that the big offers will follow in two years time. For Jake I don't think the future is quite as clear and you can't blame him if he cashes in now when his star is high.
  21. I tend to agree with Gazzy. Livingston were terrible in the first half hour. Their manager has a lot to answer. It was as if he had not watched us since December. To line up with two forwards Erskine and Lawless as wing backs and three centre backs marking Main gave our wingers loads of room to destroy them. Their goalie made a hash of coming for the free kick and Lawless was out muscled and the second defender slipped and the shot went through the keeper at the third. Can you imagine the usual suspects on here if our manager had made such a tactical error and our defence had conceded in that manner. I am taking nothing away from a great performance but sometimes you have to look at the opposition.
  22. What a rubbish post. You want Robinson out so you moan about a win. Would you prefer us to have lost to Hibs, Dundee and Livingstone next week and see the manager sacked. We would be in a relegation battle with no manager for three weeks, the window closed and a chief executive who is totally out of his depth, charged with finding the brilliant new manager. Oh dear.
  23. I was very critical of Main at the game last night. His miss when clean through showed he has lost all confidence when you think how he finished against Aberdeen in the semi. Then he had a five minute spell where he gave the ball away three or four times. However I have just watched the whole game again on Alba and he played much better than I thought. Great to see the youngsters do so well and what a goal. Thought Gorrin had a great game. When he broke up the play he usually then picked a pass. And why were Campbell and Grimshaw left out on Saturday? County would not have dominated if they were playing. Here's hoping McCormack does not become the new Brian McClair.
  24. Unlike some I have some worries about this one. Three weeks without a game I hope we are not ring rusty against the best team outside the premier league who have been playing each week. They seem to have had dip in form but in the cup that goes out the window. Here's hoping we are right at it from the off. Anyway thank goodness the fitba is back. The winter shut down is crap.
