  1. Did we line up 352 or was Dunne at left back?
  2. Spot on. Hylton stood and watched as the right back ran up the park and scored. Seedorf and Hylton look way out of their depth. Our full backs will look bad if they get no help from those in front of them. I said before that giving Robinson a new contract was premature and we should wait and see how the new signings worked out. Seedorf, Hylton, Ilic, Cole and Long look way off the standard required. Polworth looks a good player but disappears for long spells. Only Gallagher looks fit for purpose and who the hell is Casper Sloth. Is he actually a slow moving Ghost? What about our shys. Every one went back the way so that Dunne and Gallagher could pass it to each other then hoof it up the park. Scott is not yet ready. He had one great piece of skill but was bullied by Berra. Six months loan and maybe he will come back in January and save our season. I am normally a happy clapper but have rarely been as scunnered and worried as I was after last night.
  3. I worry that Robinson has gone too far away from the physicality that he always emphasised in our two cup finals season. We were OK against the teams we played in the League Cup but yesterday showed the lack of strength in the midfieId. I do not see anyone in our squad that can be as physical as Bowman, Rose, McHugh or Gorrin. I don't see Donnelly, Polworth, Campbell, Sloth or Semple bullying other midfielders. Robinson's mantra has always been you need to win the battle and earn the right to play. It remains to be seen if we have the players equipped t do this.
  4. Football is an entertainment business. As someone who is thinking of going tomorrow but due to personal circumstances it will be a decision made around 2pm having read the shenanigans on here about queuing for a ticket then queuing again at the turnstile I think I will give it a miss. How many others are put off by this and how many other entertainment enterprises make it difficult for paying customers?
  5. While you have to take in the standard of the opposition that was a very good performance. Downside was a couple of slack moments at the back. Seedorf Hylton and Scott will get the headlines but I thought Gallagher was outstanding and on his brief appearance Ilic could prove to be the best signing of the lot. If James Scott continues to develop he could surpass the transfer fee we are expecting for DT. Tall athletic strikers with great awareness and touch are worth a fortune. I hope he fulfils his undoubted potential.
  6. I am a big fan of Robinson and think he has done a great job. But I think this is a bit premature. I would have preferred to wait until October or November. By then we will know if the bulk of the new signings can cut it. If they don't we will be in trouble and he will be under pressure and if he has to go him and Lasley will be due a load of compensation.
  7. A three year deal looks very sensible from the clubs point of view. It takes him to 22 when the compensation clauses will kick in if he happens to go out of contract. Let's hope he signs it.
  8. Anton know why Gillespie did not play v Crusaders?
  9. A priority must be the academy. To me that is where the possibility of good income is most likely. When you get almost a million for Hall, McKinstrey and Hastie who between them played around 30 first team games it is apparent that clubs in England are prepared to spend big money (to us ) on taking a punt on potential.
  10. Mark O'Brien captains Newport in league 2 play off final at Wembley and gets sent off for two yellow cards.
  11. John Martis lives in Manse Road a couple of hundred yards from Fir Park.
  12. No one has considered here whether Robinson wants to be here. In no way do I want him out but he will point to just about every target achieved in his time here and will have a lot of positives on his CV. Will he have the energy and the drive to do another rebuilding job? I thought he looked pretty pissed off in his interviews after Saturday's game. Maybe he might think it's time for a change.
  13. Conspiracy theory here. There is a report on the BBC sport Scotland site suggesting there is a plan to increase the Championship to 12 teams and one way of increasing the teams in the league to 44 would be to add two colt teams. I wonder who they would be.
  14. Just checked on Wiki and it seems Sibbald took some time to consider his option even going on trial at Luton before returning to Falkirk and signing a one year deal. He left for Livi at the end of that for nothing. Could see the same scenario happening with Cadden.
  15. The case of Sibbald at Falkirk is often quoted as a young player whose development fee out stripped his worth but I don't know what the final outcome was.
  16. I would expect Cadden to be here next season. If we are due development fee I cannot see a club matching the 600k we expected when Hearts showed interest last year and he has since become a full international so we may be looking for even more. A two year deal and a return to form and injury free and we might get a decent fee in the future but not 600k +.
  17. Easiest vote of the season. Turnbull ran the show. Reckon he is the best young player we have produced since Faddy.
  18. If the development fee increases with the number of appearances he has then bring him on for the last few minutes. I am sure the club will be aware if another four appearances will affect the fee. I want that horrible Glasgow club to pay as much as we can screw out of them and we should leave them no wriggle room in the negotiations. I would not trust them to play fair with us. On his decision to leave I think he and his agent has realised that his star will never be higher and they should cash in now. Contrast that with Turnbull. He for me is the real deal and he knows that he will get better and will get a big move in a year or so. Not so confident that Jake would get a move like this one if he were to stay another year. Teams have worked him out. I remember seeing Levein going mad at Berra when Jake cut inside and scored against Hearts. Levein was pointing at his right leg as if to say you should have kept him on that side. and that is what most teams have done since his form has dipped.
  19. The moron who threw the lighter should be identified and banned. He gave the media all they needed to deflect from the horrible support in the South Stand. Is one horrible individual throwing a lighter any worse than 5000 Sevco supporters singing sectarian songs. I know what I think but I also know which club will be pilloried in the media.
  20. I am going to make you all jealous. I was there the night the boys in blue got beat 5-2 by the boys in claret and amber. I was only 10 but my dad took me along to Ibrox. It was school night but I will always be grateful to him for taking me. Unfortunately he also took me to the next round when we lost 1-0 at home to Airdrie. I think this was the game that pissed off my hero Ian St John and he left soon after.
  21. Once again the Old Firm will inconvenience every other club as the fixtures will only be worked out after the weekend because they will not want Celtic winning the league in the game against Rangers. If it was not for this we could have them by tomorrow and clubs could plan hospitality sponsorship etc well in advance .
  22. If the SPFL is doing its job then Accies, Dundee and St Mirren should have their fixtures arranged so that they have played everyone in the bottom 6 twice at home and twice away over the season. Then there can be no allegations of bias or unfairness to a particular club in the relegation dog fight. If we are to get an extra home fixture against someone surely it has to be Livi or St Johnstone. But it is the organisers of Scottish football so I wouldn't bank on it.
  23. No Scott on the bench. Main is usually subbed off but don't see who could come on in his place with only Johnston's to come on and he is no use up there on his own.
  24. If he is on 14k a week then I am delighted. What that means is that if they can pay that to a player that is no more than a good prospect then it will not be long until they are bankrupt again and we will be rid once again of this despicable football club.
  25. I agree with this. For me Turnbull is a much better player. I also think Turnbull has shown confidence in his ability by signing for us. He expects to improve and get his move in a year or so. Hastie 's star is high just now and may never be as high again and he is right to cash in when he can. The ideal for me would be that he bombs at that horrible club but takes them for every penny he can get then moves on a rich man and has a good career in England.
