Unpopular opinion: white shorts don't go with a claret & amber shirt.

I used Macrons online kit design service a while back and posted this 50s style throwback kit based on one of their templates. Retro is not for everyone, however, a teams historical kit archive will always have an influence on kit designers.

Totally understand that, but why say anything in May when the deal obviously wasnt signed? When it does come, Im hoping for understated and classic. Amber top wi Claret Hoop, White Shorts and Black Socks please!

Ultimately though, most people only buy the top, so the shorts and socks are irrelevant in terms of shirt sales. Just for clarity, I’m an old (fat) fart, so I don’t buy replicas, just occasional t-shits or polo shirts, but I do like the traditional hoop.

Regarding UBH's retro mock up: just had a multiplied organism I've always found it strange that a club with a unique design, a single hoop, mess about with it so much, sometimes reducing it to a feeble advertising band, or removing it completely. Huge clubs like Boca Juniors of Sellick don't do that. We also have (almost, Bradford City excepting) unique colours. Combining the two makes us pretty special, yet we seem almost ashamed of our history. Even Hearts, with a simple shirt, have rarely strayed from their classic maroon with white facings. They tried an Ajax-style jersey in the 70s from memory but it didn't go down well with the fans. White shorts would be great but are surely negotiable/changeable annually. Those old black socks with ACA turnovers ain't never going to happen, I fear, but hooped ones are pretty acceptable. I dread to think what we're actually going to get.........

Some folk seem to think Carson and Kipre away. Well both got 2 yrs left on contract so will only go if proper bids come in. As for Ciftci....nahhhh didn't do enough for me. I think ohalloran would be better signing

I’m not demanding we sign an unrealistic level of player but a bit disappointing/worrying we feel Simon Murray is a player we want, and are willing to pay for. I’ve never rated him. Mainly because he’s utter keech!

It certainly has gone quiet as I got told it was more or less a done deal, obviously on holday and waiting to sign on his return!!! personally I think he would be terrific signing if true, As for Ciftci I just don't get it as he played one good game for us against a very poor Hamilton team and everyone thinks he will be the answer to our season, what he will do IF he signs will to increase our wage bill

Thing for me as far as Ciftci goes is that his last show of being anything close to a decent football was three years ago, and since then he's been at five clubs in three years. Among his highlights over those years has been involvement in a mass brawl, and criticism in the media and from management about his fitness and application. He's scored 11 goals in 50 games over those three years. I know some see him as being worth a punt, but I just don't think he has the attitude and application to get back to where he was three years ago, let alone fit in with a team that has one of the highest work ethics in the league.

Don't see why they can't still allow their grass to grow. They'll just have short plastic by comparison. He'd find something else to moan about anyway.
