  1. Rose has always been seen as a main player by Robinson that wont change, Bowman we don't even know yet if he's going to be fit for sunday either. I like Frear think he's great player when attacking and during our successful period in the early part of last season was vital to our success with his crosses into the box for the likes of Moult etc. We know virtually what most of the team is for Sunday bar one or two, Cadden is supposedly doubtful now and if Bowman makes it I'd start him over Main whos been horrifically bad during pre season and the group games so far. My midfield 3 during the season would be Bigi, Gorrin and Turnbull, total football with them, there isn't a hope in hell we will ever see those 3 play together sadly.

  2. I don't know who thought it was a good idea to put background muzak on the game highlights, but if you're reading this, PLEASE STOP.

  3. We need to be patient with some of the players. Main has only played 90 minutes in 2 competitive games so far. Hartley had a 7 month lay off. Our back line has chopped and changed frequently since the game against Edinburgh City. Yes, we need to get up to speed quickly now but the time to start worrying is if some of the players aren't performing by late September.

  5. The area we were in took around 1200 when full. I’m guessing around 1000

  6. Anyone expecting to see a good game of football on that pitch was deluded. That immediately influenced our performance. With the wind it was alwatys a case of just getting the job done, which we did. McHugh's injury was also a blow. Hartley and Donnelly's lack of match fitness is more of a concern. Just like last year, the group stage of the League Cup will count for nothing once the league begins. My concern ahead of next Saturday is fielding a solid secure defence. I didn't like the fact or the way we lost the goal yesterday, but our 3 goals were the textbook way to win against a packed defence on a shocking pitch. We haven't been the only Premiership to struggle in the group stage. We won, we qualified, unlike Accies, and now move on.

  7. The improving 12-16 is one of the daftest things i've heard considering how poorly we played for long spells last season. Robinson hasn't adressed our lack of creativity in the final third and we don't look any better off on the left hand side. With the young players Robinson will no doubt say they're not ready than admit he's wasted the club's money padding out the squad unneccesarily.

  8. Not one of our youngsters has made the bench in the last 3 cup games. Our transfer policy this summer surely can’t sit well with all at the club.

  10. Mitigating factors : a strong tricky wind; a horrible artificial pitch; early loss of McHugh who had looked confident and composed; lack of match fitness in Hartley in particular. Inexcusable features: not using Bigi who has more football intelligence and guile than the midfield put together - and especially when hooking off a really out of sorts Campbell early ; Main and Sammon playing so far off each other that they carried no threat until Clyde ran out of steam; keeping Rose on the pitch. Promise: Sammon scoring again; Frear showing glimpses of confidence going past his man; Rodriguez putting his foot on the ball and picking his passes. I would love to see Rodriguez and Bigi play in the same team - it would give Main, Frear, Camden and Sammon more to work with and pose more goal threat. But we would need a lot more solidity at the back to even contemplate this.

  12. The whole thing is a little bit bizarre. First of all McHugh is playing in the middle of the three - where you'd expect the captain to be while Hartley is on the periphery. Secondly, especially evident last week at Stranraer when you could hear the players, it was McHugh that was giving all the instructions, egging the team, chastising, encouraging, telling players what to do. It certainly wasn't Hartley. Hartley's not leading by example or behaving like you'd expect a captain to do. So far at least he's essentially been a model for an armband.

  13. Same old pre-season. Same old pre-season comments. The only difference this time is how many people are gutted Dunne is out for a few months. This time last year they were writing him off as a hopeless duffer.

  14. A lot of apologies coming out for Hartley, yes he was out injured, but was back in training before the end of last season and was even in the cup final squad if hes not fit, its not because if the injury.
