  1. The same amateurs that are both publicly and within the game, the envy of clubs all over the UK? Let me assure you, these "amateurs" are the reason we still have a club at all right now, let alone one that is sustainable and profitable. Just wait and see where we go in the next few years, all thanks to the current regime.

  2. Get that ‘amateurs running the club chat’ in the bin. Handled the situation well thus far & making strides to realise full market value.

  3. Celtic are doing exactly what Rangers do when it comes to buying players from other Scottish clubs. They float a low-ball price via their favoured tabloid hacks to see the reaction and whether they might nick a bargain. Do to Celtic what Hibs did to them with John McGinn. However, make no mistake, Motherwell will sell Turnbull but IMO they will get nowhere near what he's really worth - the amateurs running the club will make sure of that.

  4. It's thoroughly enjoyable having a player we can discuss whether 4 million is enough or not about.

  5. If Clarke had called him up he could have asked McGinn over crushed avocado and toast at breakfast if he regretted not going to Celtic. With a winning goal in the play off, playing every week in arguably the most entertaining league, salary jump and now a new one to match, not being hated by 1/2 of Glasgow (granted 1/4 will always despise you because of your secondary school) and your previous club fans .... I'm sure he'd steer him away. OK he's maybe gonna miss out on smoke machines, light shows and 60k unwashed singing you'll not walk alone in Europe but rather than jump on the first wave, jump on the best one. Turnbull has age, plaudits from peers plus the jorno's, stats and potential on his side that others such as Moult, Randolph, etc. didn't. He had good advisors around him at the club. However 3 months till the window closes, plenty of time for a bidding war. Let the powers that be keep on stoking the fire.

  6. As I mentioned earlier, the market will determine what he's worth, not us. We can say that we're not accepting a penny less than £4 million all we like, but if no bugger is willing to pay that then he's not worth it. It's incredibly naive to think we can just say "well, Hibs and Dundee United got X amount, so that means we're going to get Y amount" as it doesn't work that way. The market will vary depending on the window. Are clubs looking for a player in his position? Are there a lot of other options out there who can play said position? Are the clubs who are interested in a financial position to pay the kind of money we want? It'll depend on a number of factors, but it's far more complicated than we think.

  7. Boy was brilliant, would have him back in a heart beat. Every time he got the ball you felt something was going to happen.

  8. Burrows is playing a blinder so far in my eyes. In the space of 24 hours we have went from talk in the paper of Celtic perhaps readying a 1.2m bid, to talk of no less than 2.5-3m in the headlines of the Herald and The Record etc. We all know its paper and social media talk. But nowadays both can have a big impact on transfers and the momentum of them Without the proactive intervention from Burrows originally to say no less than our record fee (setting our stall out early), then a reactive statement saying significantly more than our record fee (furthering that stance but with not 'magic' number mentioned) we would be silent and talking about the normal low ball bids from Celtic et al. Of of much less than 1.2 million. Now we are in a position that all clubs know we aren't dealing at the 400k -8/900k levels like we have recently when we have made a sale like Moult, Heneghan, Kipre or Johnson et al Well played in my eyes.

  9. I think if we do sell Turnbull to Celtic then i'll be done with the fitba regardless of the fee. This is not a knee jerk reaction but more of a sick of the same old pish for the last 50 years. it'll be like the SFA giving McLeish the Scotland job. Nothing's changed and never will . It's not the selling or the fee that matters most to me but who we sell him to . If Hastie had left for any other club bar Rangers or Celtic our support would have just shrugged their shoulders and went " that's pish" but going to one of those two is not on for all the reasons we know too well. I am not going to spend my time and money watching Turnbull rattling 12 goals a season into us. We stood up to Rangers when they fucked us over in the Play off ticket allocation , we've papped their scummy fans out the Main Stand, now its time to stand up to Celtic and their money. Let's see if a fan based club can do what's best for the fans again.

  10. Apparently Sevco and Celtic fans will also be barred from the Cooper Suite.
