  1. Sounds like "the amateurs" running our club refused to be steamrollered by Celtic after all. (If you hear a chewing sound in the distance, it's the sound of 100 humble pies being devoured).

  2. I love this 'usual suspects' chat. It always makes me think of the ant hill mob lurking away is some dark corner of the steelmen online site waiting to attack us with negative vibes. Last night they were being blamed for a negative reaction to the Crusaders friendly (when actually nobody was saying very much) and today for not giving the club due credit (when actually the comments have been very positive). I bet they will be along in a minute though to spread their vile. Darn those usual suspects!!!

  3. He's signed to summer 2021, and is a genuine talent and a well fan. Every chance this will work out fine, he'll get back to fitness and form and move to england next summer.

  4. I don't give a flying fuck about the money anyway I just want to boy to get fit again and see him in a Motherwell shirt once more. So nothing to see here it's over with we move on and get the Magnificent David Turnbull back fit and well soon hopefully.

  5. Yeah, in all honesty there isn't really a club in existence that would say "the player failed a medical and needs surgery? No problemo, we'll still pay full whack!" They were only looking out for their own best interests, which is quite right. And we were looking out for ours and those of our player. I have no doubt they'll be back in January or next summer.

  6. Well done to the club on standing no firm. Maybe an example of waiting until the details came out before trashing those running the club ?

  8. Agreed, there clearly trying to take the piss out of us,set a deadline for friday and if there still playing silly beggars,we pull the plug on the deal.we can't allow this to rumble on over the weekend and into next week, enough is enough.

  9. We never had the money, only the prospect of it for 5 mins so I don't think the board will have a new direction and operating model for the club sorted out. So we are still on the same course as last year, ie developing our own talent and bringing in others from elsewhere at little or no cost and then move them on at a profit, it has served us well in recent years. So basically what we never had we won't miss.

  10. DT, no doubt will be gutted but I am confident that when he is back up and playing we will see him at his best again. He never missed a game when he broke into the team with this alleged injury and scored 15 goals so it can't be bothering him that much, so he will get his big move. And Celtic will see another great Scottish talent move out of their price range, for ever,

  11. Mainly just shots at MFC for not knowing about the injury, or knowing but keeping it secret from “the boy”, and being tinpot because we don’t do comprehensive medicals at the end of every season. They definitely don’t know who he is and aren’t bothered in the slightest that they didn’t sign him, and are not spending their day being all knowing medical professionals on twitter.

  12. While delighted he is staying i’m not sure there are any winners here. Turnbull will be gutted and is now left wondering how his future will pan out, no one knows how that’s going to effect him moving forward. We will need to look again who we bring in because i’m pretty sure some of that money was already as good as spent and we now lose our most influential player for a prolonged period regardless. I would also think we will be lucky to see close to 3million again regardless simply because his contract will start running down and I doubt very much he’s going to sign any form of extension. I’m usually a glass half full individual but here are a few negatives to this.

  13. Im happy Celtic released a level headed account of things, but I’m sure their weirdo fans will find ways to read between the lines though. It also seems that most of the in the know folk actually know fuck all. It looks like if this transfer saga hadn’t started, Turnbull would have done pre season and played games with no knowledge of a potential knee problem, but now that something has been seen in the medical it can’t be unseen and we need to do something about it. so it looks like Turnbull may have dodged a bullet, and now just needs preventative work, when it could have been far worse at a later date. He will probably be gutted that the deal didn’t go through, but he’ll get his move soon enough. However, this is a bigger blow to us since there’s no way we sell him for what we wanted, since there’s little or no chance that someone is going to take him in January if he’s only just back from his op, then there’s only a year left and our negotiating position is weaker. kind of shit, but not really anything we can do about it. So let’s hope someone buys Kipre for 15m.

  14. Shirt sales with ‘Magnificent 7’ on the back will hopefully generate a few quid.

  15. I'm more concerned about the massive comedown Turnbull will have as a result of this outcome and hope it doesn't sour relations between him and the club. That said, I'm pleased the club stuck to their guns and weren't bullied. I also firmly believe Turnbull can come back stronger for this and get his move in January.

  16. Positives are he doesn't go to Celtic this summer. Will they come back in? Depends on whether they are able to get any of the other targets they were apparently going to move on to. If anything, his injury should at least mean we don't see the spectacle of Scott Brown going for his 'dodgy' knee at Fir Park second game of the season... Negatives? How long will he he out for? Will he be the same player? It's early to have this conversation but it's a serious question. Even with a successful outcome, does this issue affect other teams' willingness to take a punt on him next summer. £3m is a lot for Motherwell to miss out on. Don't expect the usual suspects on here to give the club the credit they deserve for standing their ground but you can't have everything...

  17. The second half team got a creditable 0-0 draw, easily finish top 10

  18. A loan A tiny part of me regrets that didn't happen just to see how absolutely mental people would go (and who would try to polish the turd). I would have lost the plot

  19. Great news. We'll done to the fans club for telling Celtic where to stick their re-negotiated offer. Look out for the flak this will generate in the Sun and Rancid. Look forward to hearing how we are the bad guys for wanting to keep OUR PLAYER. Roll on next summer when David has returned and is going to England for £5 million

  23. Very much a rusty first pre season game I'd say. Johnson had an excellent shot saved in the first half but not much else to report on...those worth a mention: From the first half team - Gallagher looked decent, Semple very busy and got a lot of ball looking to create, Sloth looks like he could be very tidy once up to speed and took all the dead balls, Maguire decent in the defensive mid role Carson Grimshaw - Gallagher - Hartley - Livi Campbell- Maguire Long - Sloth - Semple Johnson From the second half team - Scott looked great on the ball up top but didnt do much to trouble the goal, Polworth did a lot of running, collecting and distributing and looked good I thought, Cornelius got a good bit of ball too and looked to try and create, Donnelly decent again in the middle like Maguire was. Carson Tait - Devine - Dunne - Carrol Donnelly McAlear Cornelius Hylton Polworth Scott

  24. But we all know the question most Celtic fans can't resist asking..... "Aye, but what team do you really support?"
