1- He is out of contract in the summer so we will get nothing for him. 2 - His commitment to the club has to be questioned after whoring himself to other clubs, specifically celtic during the transfer window, 3- I firmly believe there was a extension clause for at least another season after this season, so this seems to have been removed and coincidentally he is fit again and ready to play. 4 - As I say the whole episode stinks, he no longer wants to be at the club, and that's not the kind of player we need right now. He wants to be in the Scotland squad so will he be fully committed to Motherwell throwing himself into tackles etc and risking Injury, I would like to think so but I have major doubts he will be.

Hastie was open and up front about leaving. No pretence. He got slaughtered on here by many for wanting to better himself, and being honest about it. And booed when he took to the pitch. Perth I think. Don’t see the same abuse heading Gallagher’s way and, if true, he has been doing a lot more manoeuvring re contracts than Hastie ever did. And we got good money for Hastie. Vigurs was crucified...still is....for allegedly feigning injury to force his way out of the Club. Same accusation has been made about Gallagher, but folk refuse to believe it whereas in Vigur’s case it was taken as gospel. Double standards. Every player has the right to try and better himself, but it does seem that for some on here, if your face fits and you are a “good guy”, then you can do no wrong and can muck the Club about in ways that others get hammered for. And I’m not defending Gallagher. Far from it. Just comparing the reaction to his dealings and those of others who eventually moved on.

I wonder how many "soft" penalties they've won this season? Since the one Erwin won against us, and including it, my count is 4 or possibly5. Something stinks.

And who do you think placed the Gallagher story in the Media? First of all that there was a clause about to kick in and then that it had been "sorted" and that he would be available for free in the Summer. I hardly think the Press would be bothered making it up given that they don't give a toss for anybody other than Rangers and Celtic. So no motive. And I did not pick up on the Club responding that the story was fabricated, as surely they would have done if a lie was being promoted about a player. It would definitely not be in Motherwell's interest to try and encourage a January bid for their Captain and best player before any clause kicked in extending his contract and placing Motherwell in a better position. . Especially in the middle of a relegation dogfight, Nor can I see the Club advertising the fact he is available for nothing in the Summer given they will hope to encourage him to stay. So no motive there either. So that leaves Gallagher and his new Agent. Doing what they feel necessary to cash in when they can? Can't really blame them for that given a chance to substantially increase earnings of a 30 year old. And the timing of his unfortunate injury was very convenient. But I wonder what the reaction would have been on here if his name was Hastie or Vigurs rather than Gallagher?

I know it's all true. So do a few other people who post on here but they are not saying it.

We’re still in a relegation fight and as such need our best players on the pitch regardless of what happens in a few months. Taking the huff and not playing him is not going to make a lot of sense if it ends up costing us a place in the top flight. Let’s be sensible about this and place the clubs position in the Premiership ahead of personal opinions on his behaviour, even more so given that no one has actually been able to come and prove if any of the allegations being made are true. All that matters is staying in this league, Gallagher will be forgotten pretty quickly whatever happens.

Is this all fact ? You know all of this is 100% true. There was an extension trigger but the club removed for some reason and now he is free to leave in the summer ? Again - you know this to be factually accurate and EXACTLY how it went down ?

Magloire and Lamie have consecutive clean sheets. I don't see Alexander changing it. He seems like a fairly straightforward manager. If you perform well you play, if you don't it's a long way back.

Guthrie lives in the same building as McGinley in Bothwell. His contract is up in the summer and I wouldn't be surprised if he's another player making the move from Livingston to us.

According to the BBC gossip page yesterday's appearance triggered his contract extension "till at least the summer " was the phrase used, so either his original contract was only till January or the original extension, for however long was scrapped. The whole episode smells of shite, so for me Gallagher should not be starting games, stick to the players from the last 2 games and use him as a sub if required.

So good has Kelly been he might just push himself into contention for Scotland's 3 rs goalkeeper at the Euros. Current guy Mc Laughlin at Rangers barely gets a game .

Speculation is part of a football forum, but a lot of your posts read like you are stating facts or are 'in the know', and that's how those three examples read at the time. Even when you get asked about sources (Gallagher contract), you use some half-truth to claim you were right. Even though it's clear you cant back up your claim. Maybe it's not your intention, but that's how it comes across and I don't think it's a great approach when talking about court cases and child abuse, and to a much lesser extent player contracts. Anyway, I'm tuning out on this and going back to my own ill-informed thoughts on the game itself.
