  1. It's never been a Derby, up until this recent spell in the premiership they were never in the same league as us, we only ever played them in in the Lanarkshire Cup when that still ran and the occasional Scottish or league cup game. You need to be an explorer to find an accies fan, anytime we are at the cannabis stadium or whatever its called we outnumber them about 10 to 1,, the same when they are at Fir park, no fans. So all this derby and feeling a bit more needle talk is pish, when they get relegated they will be the same as Airdrie, and Albion Rovers, ie another shitey wee Lanarkshire side wishing they were as well run, well supported, and as good as the best team in the county ie us.

  2. "I think there was something at the start of the season that I wasn't privy to and when I came in [as manager] it was about keeping him here until the summer and having another conversation with him - and that hasn't changed." Quote from Alexander. Not sure how that confirms anything was bollox.

  3. One of my all time favourite days following Motherwell that was. At Hampden, comfortably seeing off Aberdeen and their media chums and a brilliant atmosphere in our end. The Electric Bar was absolutely bouncing that day/night. That and the other Semi Final from that season (the Moult game) were days that are what makes the shite times supporting us feel worth it.

  7. That's incorrect. Alexander has said he's free to leave in the summer. Nothing more, nothing less. The fact there isn't a clause, doesn't mean there wasn't a clause. That's the rumour, and the club and player have been vague in their response to it. Alexander's comments today doesn't offer any further clarity. If anything, his vague comment about being not being privy to "something" at the start of the season just adds a bit more fuel to the rumour. Personally, I'm indifferent to it all now. Given the club, manager nor the player have been completely transparent suggests there was some contract wrangling, yet they all remained on good terms which suggests it's nowhere near as sinister or underhanded as some seem to believe. The board have proved in recent years that they're no mugs so if they're happy, I'm happy.

  9. I'm with you on that Brother. Remember being ambushed at Chapelhall one year when the buses were on strike and we had to walk it there and back from Motherwell. The young guns don't know what they've missed.

  10. Been following the mighty WELL for close on 65 years and the local derby for me and it always will be is Airdrie For those on here who have never been to a game at the old Broomfield don’t know what they have missed A real football stadium and the atmosphere at a New Years game was electric. Many a time been ambushed by Section B going over the bridge on our way to the away end ……… Magic memories getting waved into them.

  11. I'd rather be dragged round the Sainsbury's next door with the wife than go to Accies, New Year's Day or otherwise.

  12. Sincerely can't fathom the Kelly chat. He's a QPR player who earned a decent move to a mid table championship club. So talk of him maybe getting a move to a decent English side, he's kinda already there, just not favoured. They have someone ahead of him in the pecking order so the chance of regular game time to a club in a bit of bind was no doubt welcome by all parties. He's still got a two years on his deal there and on decent wedge. The only way he'd come north in the summer is to go to Edinburgh or Aberdeen I suspect based on their spending power. Only thing we may have is Alexander may give him the "We're building something great here" speech, regular football or some extra x-factor. You'd expect Carson to be fit by August so do you think he'd return from QPR to be an understudy at FP?

  13. Given the way they dealt with the Covid breach, the SFA would probably end up awarding St Mirren a 1 - 0 win for Crawford's handball.
