Yip...very strange stuff.
He was a smashing player for us, scored some very important goals, never threw his toys out the pram looking for a move, got us a bit of cash when he did, speaks highly about the Club...and then boo'd off some fucking weirdos.
Fucking dreadful defending. Static. We’re missing 2 centre halves that can read a game - maybe one is one the bench.
We’re missing a central midfielder that can read a game a create from central areas.
We’re missing another forward.
Lawleff is absolutely shite.
Really enjoyed that today. Really entertaining end to end game with lots of chances for both sides. Great atmosphere in the ground as well. Sky will be chuffed to bits with the product on offer!
Thought we were very unlucky not to take a point from the game. There is no doubting Hibs quality, but we matched them for large parts of the game and should have converted at least one of our chances in the 2nd half.
Still very much a work in progress. Our first 11 looks strong, but our options off the bench only weaken us, so we will need a few more bodies in to give us the strength and depth we need for a successful campaign. Getting Shields and Ojala fit and available would also be a massive help.
Reasons to be cheerful......
Shields is still to come back in...
...but aye, the lack of options off the bench today was probably what lost us that game. No harm to Lawless or Amaluzor, but I dont think either are of the desired quality
I'd say we need a striker and one or two midfielders dependent on whether O'Hara has a return date.
We should be looking to punt Lawless if at all possible.
They are a decent side, not as good a side as their fans and the media would like them to be but they will almost certainly be top six at the very least this season. We showed today that we have the ability to compete with them over the course of 90 minutes but our defensive issues cost us again.
As I said, I think Slattery will do extremely well for us once he’s up to speed and there were encouraging signs from Woolery and KvV yet again today.
I'm quite happy with that. I don't think we could have done much more with Mugabi, Donnelly and Slattery all lacking games and no bench.
Plenty of positives.
Just checked and it is being shown live here on Sky Sorts 7 Bein Sports. Now feeling a bit stupid in getting up at 3:30am yesterday to watch the British Lions. Do I have another early start? Of course I do! New season, new hope. At least it cannot be any worse than the rugby, and I have no work meetings until the afternoon.
I can see several reasons to make him captain - he's not a Hartley type but
he's a Scottish international
model pro who works his socks off
He has a level head - ideal person to speak to a ref during a game.
help push his value up
give him another reason to stick around.
